BRIT HOTEL CONFORT ALEXIA - La Souterraine

Easy to get to and plenty of parking space.Good food. Pleasant staff and welcoming. Good shower and facilities.

Corridors could be a little brighter and more cheerful.

Handy stop over, close to motorway. Good meal in the restaurant.

Whole place feels a bit tired and needs a refresh.

Good buffet breakfast. Lots of free parking, which is great for us as we have a campervan.

The hotel is good. It served its purpose which I'm my case was to rest at night and continue traveling. The bed was very nice.

I would suggest having some lights at the entrance of the hotel. Not only it's hard to find, but also, when I arrived it was very dark and I found it quite hard to open the doors since I couldn't even find the machine to get the keys.

Very drab dark decor throughout the staircase was like being in industrial building (lift wasn't working). Scruffy grass area with dog droppings. Swing round height barrier for car park was not fixed so not noticing it I assume having been blown out of position when I opened my car hatchback it hit the barrier. Room window small did not stay open unless moved curtain over it to (awkward and heavy) hold it in place. Breakfast selection ok but not great bread not seem good fresh selection with certainly not the best croissants eggs seemed like they had been boiled day or days before (that black film round the yolk which itself was only light yellow). Not large choice of tv channels. Were unable to provide invoice on departure as printer was faulty, they assured me would email bill to me but they failed to do this until I chased them a couple of days later. Got impression the hotel mainly relies on having workers from local company as they seemed to congregate together on breakfas tables or indicated knowing each other makes you feel bit out of place as a traveller which I think the hotel didn't really convey they were too interested in if they had stopping there or not given the regular income from the corporate guests. Nobody even asked me if I had a good stay or probably cared. Pool was small (10 metres I would say) directly in front of public drinks terrace which didn't encourage my wanting to use it.

This was a very convenient overnight stop in the middle of France, close to motorway access. Beds were comfortable, Soundproofing was better than expected and we had a very restful night and quick getaway next day. The swimming pool and tennis court were a surprise

Easy location for town and surrounding areas. Simple accommodation - okay for overnight stay

Easy access from autoroute. Room was good, shower was very nice and roomy. Air conditioning great. Parking very easy. Good facilities with a pool and tennis court. Very nice shaded outdoor area for drinks in the afternoon. We used the hotel for a1 night stopover on the way to the south of France and were delighted at the convenient location via car from the autoroute. Nice breakfast on the outdoor patio to see us on our way.

A little too far from town to walk to any other restaurants / bars (though this didn't bother us for a 1 night stay!)

Reception was very welcoming , good place to stay when arriving late at night . Managed to get a drink on arrival , comfy bed and nice breakfast ideal location for small French town excellent thank you

We stumbled upon this hotel in a moment of dire need. My colleague had fallen terribly ill during our journey. To our delight, the hotel administrator happened to be a warm-hearted woman who showed us such genuine care: she brought extra blankets and even a kettle to help comfort us. We are truly touched by her thoughtfulness and kindness. The hotel itself is nestled conveniently along the road, offering a cozy haven for travelers in transit. With fresh linens, a spotless room, and all the comforts one could wish for, our stay here has been nothing short of a warm embrace amidst our travels.

Very organized, the food was very good (breakfast and dinner), and it was easy to access.

During dinner, it took a while for the staff to take our order.

the room is ok, the reception was friendly by coming in

There was no reception any more after 07pm.I had room n° 186. The person in room n° 187 tried two times to enter my room. When I signaled this to the people in the dining room, they didn't reacted. There was no one in the reception any more to communicate this. I can not appreciate this.

Good sized room, clean, decent bed, elevator to upper floors, very friendly staff at reception, large free car park, short drive to La Souterraine. Swimming pool during the season.

Nothing to dislike. General observation is that Originals chain has taken over an older hotel in need of some updating and TLC. Little choice for vegetarians but not unusual for France.

The room was good for 4 people, so very practical when travelling with kids. Good for a stop-over in our trip from Spain to France. Good parking
