Pros +
- Older hotel, nice yeard, great breakfast
- We were given a room in the Hotel de France not L’Annexe which has happened before and we’re not happy about it. Rooms in Annexe much bigger
- The annex is well located in the centre of the town, near both the main Hotel de France and local restaurants, and a few minutes walk from the Basilica of St Mary Magdalene. The bed was clean and comfortable. The ambience in the Hotel de France a minute's walk away and where a good buffet breakfast is served, was good.
Cons -
- Small showerstal 65 x 65 cm WITHOUT a door or curtain. Impossible to shower without setting the bathroom floor underwater. No toiletpaper holder.Renovation 95% complete, baseboard and some wall finishings are incomplete in hallways that make the hotel less than what it could be.
- Hotel de France room very small. Tiny bathroom with shower cubicle barely big enough to get in. Greeted by smell of drains
- The ensuite bathroom was well below par, with just one shower hose in the bath (no separate taps for running a bath) and no shower curtain, resulting in a soaked bathroom. The electrics on one side of the bed (including light) were broken. Overall, the annex is in shabby condition compared with the main hotel. With its bare white walls, no effort had been made to make the room more enticing.

Every time I book this hotel I’m transferred to the nearby Hotel de France on arrival, which is a good thing as it’s a better hotel.I’d say 3 star in general, tidy decor, clean, reasonable room etc. There’s a resto attached by you must book that independently.Decent value and totally central.
For the money, nothing.
We were sent to the Hotel de France since the A/C wasn't working and it was quite hot. We appreciated this a lot.Delicious breakfast.
The location, the bedroom and the bathroom were clean and great.
Bad
It was about 30 degrees in both of our rooms! It was totally impossible to sleep in that heat without any air at all. You really need to have air condition or something else that gives you the possibility to breathe
The position is good. Directly In the middle of the citycenter, you can reach everything by foot. The check-in and Breakfast is in an other hotel, just 100m away. Breakfast was good.
Without Air-condition, the room was extrem hot the entire night. We left the window open, but on a Saturday night, the city center was loud. In the end, we haven't slept at all! The bathroom was not dirty, but old and you smelled it.
It's centrally located in town, which made visiting the Basilica very easy and finding places for dinner. It was also reasonably priced. They came in and made up my bed after the first night, which was a nice touch! There are additional spaces with desks and couches, if you need an office or meeting space.
Staff are at the Hotel de France a block over, and I did not interact with them personally. We had to pay for parking in the city lot. It was a steep, 3-story walk up to our rooms, and there is no air conditioning. There was no overhead shower, simply a tub and hand shower.
I really liked the location being in central part of town and the room was very quiet! The breakfast was a great value too.

The location is right in the middle of Saint Max. The staff were friendly and the room was very clean.
