Pros +
- I absolutely loved my stay at Hôtel des Pins in Normandy! The location couldn’t be better — just a short walk from the beach, where you can enjoy peaceful mornings and beautiful sunsets. The hotel has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that perfectly captures the charm of coastal Normandy. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated, with lovely touches that made me feel right at home. The staff were warm, attentive, and always ready with great local recommendations for restaurants and things to do in the area.If you’re looking for a relaxing seaside escape with friendly service and an ideal location, Hôtel des Pins is the perfect choice.
- Comfy bed and spacious room.
- We liked the decoration , warmth , atmosphere and the receptionist was very helpful and hard working, very funky boutique type hotel , not traditional ,coffee and water in the room , great location.Would definitely use again.
Cons -
- Decor was dated and bathroom of my superior room was a bizarre plastic cabin from the 80s. Not a great shower experience.I left a do not disturb sign on the door while I went for breakfast as my laptop was out etc and when I came back, the bed had been stripped and remade for the next guest and window left open (I had closed it due to security). I've never experienced this before with hours to go until checkout - if felt disrespectful. We ate in the restaurant because it was the only place open and it was among one of the worst and most disappointing meals of my life. Long waits, a grey and unpleasant tuna tataki (which had not been seared), an overcooked and inedible fillet steak (I had ordered it pink), cold frites and a steak tartare that was basically supermarket mince mixed with mayonnaise. I'm not convinced there was an actual chef in the kitchen that night. I did explain our problems but was still presented with a full bill - when I questioned this they comped a bottle of water and the scary tuna, but having paid 35 euros for a terrible steak that I couldn't eat will haunt me for a while longer.
- Pina a colada , not very good , not good value for money , don't think it was home made ?
- Noisy at nightNo parkingBathroom crap

Noisy at nightNo parkingBathroom crap
Great food, interesting decor, good location
No lift, poor room ventilation in the rooms, poor selection of drinks in the room
Location
Rooms a bit small and not well ventilated
The room was nice - actually two rooms and shower room - with a comfortable sofa, two tvs and a large coffee table, fridge, kettle, teabags and bottles of water. It was such a short walk to the beach that changing on the beach wasn't necessary. Breakfast was extra but good.
The toilet was in a sort of cupboard in the 'sitting room' - not ideal.
Lovely staff, comfortable, public and private rooms decorated with taste and character. The location was great too, just around the corner from the sea.
Clean, very close to the beach and nicely decorated. Super simple breakfast of bagettes, fruit, yoghurt, jams, fruit juice and excellent coffee and even better hot chocolate. There are several restaurants and bars. Huge amounts of free public parking. We will go again.
I could not get the kettle to work.
Cute hotel. Best location, very close to the beach in the center of the city. Plenty of great restraunts, coffee shops, shopping and just walking trails. Near-by parking for the car easy accessable.
Noisy. Especially rooms facing the street. Woken up by the garbage trucks at 6:30 am.
Nice staff, the room was nice, we didn’t try the restaurant.
The bathroom was a bit smelly, it came from the drain but we closed the door and it was ok.The bathroom was pretty clean though
Great location in the middle of the town and right by the beach. Great restaurant with amazing ice cream deserts.
The caravan-like shower cubicle with integrated toilet was quite cramped.
Great location, friendly and helpful host, nice room
Excellent location, friendly staff. Restaurant directly in the hotel with more in the immediate vicinity, also a supermarket. The beach is just around the corner.
Each room in the two-bedroom apartment has a WC directly in the shower space that itself resembles a small ferry cabin. One properly sized shower and WC for the entire apartment would have been a better design choice. Walls could use some fresh paint.
Extremely clean. Very friendly helpful staff
Not enough electric sockets.
expensive And disssapointing
bedroom far too small , bathroom very poor .
This was a really clean hotel, quaint with retro decor. Very similar to the photos on the website. Staff contacted me by phone in advance of my arrival and were very accommodating to a late arrival and checkin. The room was small but comfortable with good ensuite (excellent shower once I worked out how to turn it on!). The rate was very reasonable for the room.
The Wifi was enabled but didn't work. I was offered breakfast for 10 euro but this wasn't really good value - some croissants, an orange, baguette and a yoghurt. I had to pay additionally for the coffee with breakfast. The worst thing was the noise from the rooms - very poor insulation and the room next to me were very noisy, very late (not the hotel's fault but worth knowing).
Nice location clean
Staff not very helpful, breakfast not avaliable until 9am
friendly staff, comfortable, but late night problems
too loud music in a bar close by
The staff who work here are lovely and super nice.I was advised to order the Steak Tartar with tomatoes for dinner. It was fantasticI was on a long distance ( 3000 mile) motorcycle tour and ended up here because it was an hour from CherbourgI was in love with this area. The Hotel is just beside an amazing beach.I have travelled all over, but nowhere is like Normandy
