    Pros +

    • My wife and I stayed 5 nights to attend a multi-event wedding at Chateau de Laubardemont nearby. Charming little hotel and accommodating proprietor. We understood the rooms for 2 were small so we asked for a larger room. Very roomy, nice bathroom. Very comfortable beds, nice bedding. We were on the train station side of the hotel and hardly heard the trains going through. If we did, it was soothing, not loud at all. Hotel had pure water available, a bar, a breakfast. All we needed.
    • Location for local wedding The nice French family feel and ambience to the hotel
    • Friendly staff, next to train station, lovely breakfast space, spacious room.

    Cons -

    • The rooms weren’t so charming as the rest of the hotel, but oh well. Also, ours was in need of a deep cleaning. The maids did well with their routine jobs, like keeping the bathroom clean etc., but there were things like cobwebs, dirty corners, and dirty window wells that must not have been part of what they looked for routinely.
    • Rooms are a little small and would have liked more storage areas in bedroom and ensuite
    • We’re only given one towel in room, room wasn’t cleaned day 1.

Lovely old building. Very clean. Breakfast was nice but very basic. Parking was very good. The bed was very comfortable, just where it was located in a small room that was unconfortable getting to it due to the low ceiling.

The receiption was closed on arrival, there was no one available on arrival, it was on the top floor with no lift. The superior room was small, the ceiling was slanted on one side which meant meant you had to bend forward on the bed to walk down the side and get in and out of it, very uncomfotable as you had to avoid hitting your head on the ceiling. The room was quite but the AC was coming on avery 15 minute and would wake you up.

Ok for a one night stay if passing through the area. There aren’t many places to eat in an evening in the town. Breakfast was good but you had to order eggs separately and this wasn’t clear.

    Bathroom needed a deep clean.

The hotel had character and a friendly atmosphere. The breakfast was excellent and served in an attractive setting. The man on reception gave an excellent recommendation for a restaurant and made the booking for us.

The shower didn’t work and the bathroom could do with updating.

Good location close to station. Lovely old building with lots of character. Good spread for breakfast.

    Room very small.

location for cycling in the vineyards and train to Bordeaux . host was a perfectionist and attended to detail . great breakfast and very comfortable room

nothing but the town of Courtas has few attractive features and less desirable eating locations !

We stayed here for two nights as we were attending a nearby wedding. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, bringing us an ironing board and iron and helping us book a taxi. We didn’t dine there for breakfast. Given how close the hotel is to the station and train tracks, it was generally quiet.

The room was really very small, with barely enough space to fit our suitcases open on the floor next to the bed. The bathroom was basic but clean, and only a sachet of all in one shower gel / shampoo per person was provided so we were glad to have brought our own. Thin walls meant you could hear lots of door slamming early in the morning.

The breakfast was just what we wanted and excellent. Francois started the service early at the weekends for us as well which was great. Thank you. The hotel had its own free parking too. It is very close to the station making the hotel also accessible by train.

It would have been nice to be able to have tea/coffee available at other times. Coutras itself offered very few opportunities for evening meals.

It was nice and clean and the aircon was a plus considering how hot it was. they cleaned the room everyday which was nice

It is in a quiet village so it’s hard to find things to do as a tourist

Charming looking old hotel. Easy parking.

Air conditioning noisy, rail station opposite, noisy. Bed not very comfortable .

This hotel is a little jam. We were planning to go to Bordeaux for the weekend, but all reasonably priced hotels were sold out. I am so glad I found this place. It’s a great value for the money, very nice rooms at a great location. And the staff is excellent. I don’t think we would have a better experience if we stayed in the bigger hotel.

Could hear water noises when people were taking a shower, but we can live with that. And pillows could be a bit larger.
