Splendid Hôtel

The staff at the hotel was great. She was there in the afternoon and evening and again in the morning. Always friendly and helpful. It was a little too chilly to spend time in the courtyard, but it looked like a great place to have dinner. Both the dinner and the breakfast were excellent. We arrived on bicycles and there was a secure room where we could store them.

A longstanding hotel in a beautiful setting. A lovely shady courtyard with fish pond. All the staff were very friendly & helpful. Particularly considerate to me with my injured ankle & restricted mobility. Ate dinner and breakfast in the courtyard. Delicious food & excellent service. We would love to return. Clean budget room.

Very comfortable and welcoming - a lovely courtyard to sit out in the sun with the sound of a waterfall. In the old part of town with the chateau a couple of minutes walk away.

We loved this property immediately. we set eyes on it. It's old, even ancient, interesting and has a brilliant atmosphere. The stone circular staircase in the turret added to the character. It was a very late booking but they were so helpful and friendly. We had a spacious en suite room on the first floor. Dinner was good and we loved the atmosphere in the dining room. There is a wonderful ancient chateau in the village which offers tours. We are going to return but allow more time to explore this area.

The smell of cigarette smoke almost put us off. but it was only in the bar.

We were well aware what we were 'buying', as the reviews had already made it clear. We don't mind occasionaly sleeping in less good accomodation, however the expectation is typically that you also pay less for it. The hotel is completely faded and would need a serious injection of money to be brought up to scratch (no attempt is even made to pretend anymore), but the room and bathroom were clean, and the location was very convenient. We paid €70 for the room (in April, on a weekday), while it was worth perhaps €45. The price was completely unjustified, certainly in comparison to other rooms we stayed in on our two-week trip.

On the way down we stop here for lunch, truly French and realized it was a Hotel and later better still on Booking.Com. So we booked to stay on the way back. The Splendid is how a remember French Hotels being, French not "International" .

Evening menu was the same as lunch the week before, but still good.

Great location. plenty of parking. Clean rooms (A little tired, heavy blankets) Nice food for dinner. Nice staff.

Rooms were hot (to be fair weather was hot) Breakfast was basic.

Location excellent, the lady in charge was excellent.

The owner/manager chap was drunk by 11.00am (morning!) He was working behind the bar/café counter.The hotel must have been amazing in its heyday, but now looking very tired. It was fine for what we wanted.

Beautiful small town, very historic, lovely old building, tons of character, pretty much unchanged since I was here 30 years ago, excellent food in restaurant. Friendly owner and staff. Great value. I'll be back ?

Location very good for us, the breakfast copious, and the staff very attentive and cheerful.

Position was great to move around this small village. Good free parking in the structure.

The boss of the hotel who took us to the room was completely drunk and without mask. Furniture of the room are old and need urgently to be renovated.
