Spa Hotel Persenk

Everything was perfect! Staff, amenities, food, spa.

The staff was very helpful and polite, always smiling and ready to answer questions. The food was good, and the spa area is decent, with a few saunas and things to do. The massage and facial were great. The road to the hotel from Sofia has amazing views. There is also a restaurant, Small Italy, 200 m away from the hotel, with the best Italian food we have tried in Bulgaria.

Overall it feels like the hotel needs a renovation or refreshing fixes at least. The room was not very clean, there were hair on the floor by the entrance on the carpet. The carpet must be very hard to clean though, so I would not blame the staff on that.

Spacious rooms, excellent service, and food. The staff are always responsive and amiable. Wonderful breakfast. Very good restaurant with fresh and tasty food.

Nice spa, restaurant, and overall experience. Great value for money. The spa is decently sized, and there are a lot of amenities. The water in the pools was warm. Massages are great.The restaurant has very welcoming and competent staff, offer interesting options and unlike some other reviews, everything was great and tasty. Breakfast is top.

The hotel is in desperate need of renovation.The spa zone has only one jacuzzi, which is not enough.Not the most comfortable beds.

Restaurant was quite good. Plenty of choice at breakfast - above and beyond. Room size was very comfortable. Spa was nice and I enjoyed the massage.

It was disappointing to see no initiative to reduce environmental impact - not even recycling facilities, let alone eliminating plastic packaging or reducing energy use.

Low cleanliness, two days the room service dishes staying in the room. No parking for the guest, just about 20 places at the street, so you should park your car where you find place behind the hotel, which is very uncomfortable. The pool is around 30 degrees, for me was not enough hot- comparable to Velingrad for example

The hotel is located close to the centre of town. There is a good selection for breakfast. The receptionist was very helpful and eager to please.

The hotel is very tired internally. For instance the carpets are very faded and worn in areas, the bedroom was in dire need of a revamp, with a toilet that worked intermittently, a poor shower, worn carpets and worn paintwork. The swimming pool whilst a good size shows signs of lack of maintenance, many broken and missing tiles, poor cleanliness etc. This is a 5* hotel but simply didnt live up to anywhere near that standard.

Great location, size of rooms and pool

The hotel is located right at the city center - easy to get around, main pedestrian area close, restaurants, etc. The breakfast was good, as expected from a 5-star hotel. Some compliments in the room, spacious room and bathroom. Nice terrace bar and decent spa facilities with mineral water. Nice restaurant with the internal garden.

Expected more quality from a 5-star hotel - it was not as clean as expected, the air conditioning in the room was barely working and noisy, the bed matrices could be better (for a 5-star), the spa pool was as big as it seems on the pictures and could be cleaner. No parking - only 4-5 places in the underground garage which was complicated to use, too few places around the hotel, all taken all the time.

Spacious and clean rooms, great breakfast, comfortable beds, complementary water, fruits and wine.

The water in the indoors swimming pool was too cold. The same goes for the water in the so called aqua park, which in essence has just 2 slides for bigger children and a few for smaller ones. It was sometimes challenging to find a free parking space around the hotel.

Pool services were disappointing- jacuzzi was out of order and staff couldn't fix it for 3 days, children used the adults pool for jumping, splashing water all over, even though there is a children’s pool. The last day of our stay, there was a little boy with an inflatable belt in the jacuzzi, making it unusable by other guests, whilst parents were enjoying a swim in the pool, undisturbed and pool attendant seemed to be undisturbed. It is not really appreciated since this is an appointed SPA area, rather than children’s playground area.Another very surprising issue was, that there was a kettle in the room and 2 packs of instant coffee for one day. When I reported to reception that they missed to supply coffee the following day, they explained, that coffee had been a compliment!!!!, which took me really out of words. It has never occurred to me, that a 5* SPA resort will offer just one morning packed instant coffee, which is such an insignificant cost, but is expected by customers!

Outdated room interior, terrible old bed, old spring mattress, very weak AC. Claims to be a spa hotel ??? Nice pool but tiny hot tub that fits 2 people. This is more like a 3 star hotel. Clumsy parking. Extremely expensive!!!!

Room was spacious and with balcony, good vie to the town. Restaurant garden was lovely and very clean. Pool area was clean. Staff very polite and helpful.

Parking is very limited.Room and bathroom were not clean to standard for 5 star hotel, photo attached with all dust on the wall, also fingerprints were visible on the furniture, bathtub screen had gap and all water flooding the floor.

Romantic break in Devin spoiled by a poor hotel experience

We chose this place as it was recommended by a friend. The place is located in the heart of Devin, and it is colossal at first glance.The hotel exterior is well maintained, unlike its interior.Once you enter the hotel, it immediately becomes evident that its interior is too tired and outdated.The hotel was very quiet at the time of arrival. The service is of a good level, and the staff is friendly and supportive. The rooms are very spacious but outdated and urgently need cosmetic repairs.The rooms are also very hot although we turned the air conditioning off. The TV had a bad signal and it was too small for the room size.We had a small bottle of wine and fruit as an amenity, which was a nice gesture. The glasses, though, were not cleaned for 2 days, despite that, we indicated that we needed the room turned down.The SPA is the biggest disappointment. The swimming pool was not cleaned for days, and the water was horrible. The chairs and sunbeds were of a wooden material, and the paint was peeling off so old and terrible to look at.The steam room was out of order. The Turkish bath was used as a substitute, but it was unpleasant and not welcoming at all. We pre-booked some treatments, but once we saw the state of the spa, we cxl.From the catering perspective, things did not get any better. We had breakfast included. The buffet was OK nothing special, basic items for a 3-star hotel. No service is offered. There was a fresh fruit squeezing machine but the waiters never offered to prep a juice for you despite they were chatting away and watching you do it yourself. No interaction no attention to detail. Mediocre food quality.Honestly, we could not wait to head back.We will never visit again and we will not recommend this place for what it said on the label.
