Hotel Goldener Stern

It is just AMAZING. Central location, great food, the cakes are a must-try!!! The rooms are very spacious, also the bathrooms, very confortable, clean and very nice furnished, the rooms on the back have backyard view (pool and moutains, just gorgeous!!). A lot of shops around. The afternoon coffee on the front terrace is just great. Highly reccomend this place!!

Nice spacious rooms in excellent condition, beautiful location on the main square. The restaurant serves fresh and delicious meals.

Centrally located in Abtenau with the front entrance on a lively, picturesque medieval square and the rear entrance having a delightful garden. Useful car park. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Half-board option good value for money.

Slightly let down by food of poor quality - tinned fruit salad and squash-like juice at breakfast (though the coffee was excellent), limited salad buffet, no bread offered with the evening meal.

Staff very friendly and attentive. Rooms very clean and bed was comfortable. Bathroom was large and had lots of space. We booked half board and meals were varied each day and tasted delicious.

Food delicious yet bit heavy. But that’s just character of local, traditional cuisine. Could have some lighter, perhaps vegetarian choices.

The staff of the hotel impressed us for incredible Customer service. They were available to solve any of our problem (we had a big issue with car) with professionalism and care, giving notable advices and helping with relentless commitment. Nice restaurant, nice pastry making. Position unbeatable right in the main square of Abtenau. Rooms clean, modern structure. They deserve highest score.

loved our stay in the centre of this small village. lovely personnel. beautiful renovated hotel.we could charge our EV here at the parking lot of the hotel. very convenient. breakfast was good. dinner was also ok!we did not use the wellness, but we could use it to shower after we had already checked out! that was very nice!

Beautiful hotel, newly renovated and parking and location very good

This, being off tourist season this hotel caters to tour groups. One of few places to have dinner but over run with these groups so very noisy and mediocre food.Same with breakfast, 7:30-10:00, both days we went down at 8:30 and all items very low after the large groups had there breakfast. Not satisfactorily replenished for other hotel guests

Absolutely nothing!

The hotel is located in the center of Abtenau, staff is very friendly, breakfast is good, the rooms are clean and big enough (not the usual hotel size chambers). They have a small swimming pool and a peacful garden. Perfect place to relax, but a good base also if you want to discover the neighbouring mountains, lakes and towns.

The hotel is in front of a church bell, so woke up a little before 7AM :)

We just returned from Hotel Goldener Stern and it was all just amazing! Owners treat you as a family and the atmosphere is so calm and welcome. Rooms are super spacious and clean with a perfect view. Breakfast was super tasty and the garden? That is heaven! I really recommend everyone to stay in this hotel as this is something that everyone deserves! We will be back soon :-) Thank you!

perfect location at Abtenau's small market square. the single room in the quiet building in the back of the hotel was spacious for a single (with single occupancy), had a queen sized bed and a small balcony. I've been to Abtenau many times and stayed in serveral hotels in the town - never have I been disappointed with service and hospitality and the Goldener Stern is one of the nicest examples for the high local standards.

The dinners were filling and delicious. The salad bar was super. Breakfasts were tasty and healthy. Lots of fresh fruit, tasty cold cuts and delicious baked goods.

The food was great but there are not enough staff. The wait between courses was quite long and some children were running laps in the dining room while waiting for their meals. The reception desk was often left unstaffed also.

The hotel was easy to reach with public transport, just take bus 470 from trainstation Golling-Abtenau. Our room was very beautiful and modern. The service was excellent. Breakfast was very complete and the diners were great. I have a special dieet and they took great care of me. We really loved our stay here!

We have stayed here for 4 nights, it was wonderful stay! Food, rooms, staff... everything was perfect. We enyojed it a lot. Hopefully we will visit this hotel again.
