Alter Hotel

Room was clean and the overall space is well-curated. Convenient location if you want to stay close to Monviso.

The restaurant was closed but there were no indications about this on the website or booking, and it was one of the reasons I chose the hotel. The room was pretty cold and it was not possible to increase the temperature. Also they could have in the room a kettle, tea bags and coffee pods. When I arrived I asked if they had dairy-free food for breakfast since it was included in my stay. They couldn’t answer and said I should have notified them before so they could have bought something. If you have a food intolerance I would advise to contact them first.

Efficient and friendly service. Helpful staff. Beautifully designed hotel. Lovely art work and attention to detail. Car collection was also cool.

Breakfast could be more varied

Loving restored old textile factory. Mezzanine family rooms were big and very clean. The sofa bed was very comfortable and a free cot was provided for the baby. The linen was all of very good quality, and attention to detail was very good, we were all provided with one hard and one soft pillow for example. Free water was provided and continental breakfast was tasty. There is a classic Italian car exhibition in the back of the property which is not yet open, although through our son we’re able to get a sneak peek of which was fantastic.

The hotel well maintained, the staff really helpful and friendly. Carlota was great, worm and welcoming.The rooms are clean and equipped with all the amenities needed.The continental breakfast although small very good and tasty.

It would be nice to have some more electric sockets near the bed, and one of the mattresses was a bit creaky.

The Hotel is in a small town but it is really lovely! Very modern and new.Breakfast was nice although not a huge variety to choose from.There is a very nice pizzaria across the road.Parking was no problem

I left special butter I bought in France in the freezer of the room. When I wrote asking if it was found it took a few days to get a reply and they said they found nothing. After i explained that it was definitly there and that I had someone who could fetch it for me I got no response.....Only down side to a really lovely Hotel.

Nice hotel, had been renovated lately. Really nice, welcoming and helpful stuff.The car museum inside the hotel is quite an amazing surprise.Nice buffet breakfast, good value.

If there was a coffee machine in the room the experience could be just perfect.

If you are looking for a hotel in the Barge area STOP now and book the Alter Hotel!! We had an unexpectedly wonderful 3 night stay there. The staff (especially Carlotta and Julia) were amazingly helpful and friendly. The hotel is beautifully designed with very comfortable and interesting rooms (we tried two!) It is quiet and well situated for visiting the local scenery and wonderful small towns.

The car museum was not open … a very minor negative!

Magnificent modern renovation of an old building, hard to see that its old apart from some tasteful details. Excellent spacious rooms equipped with a lot of handy luxuries, like opening and closing the blinds electronically, from the comfort of your bed! Spacious inside the room but also very much outside it. I would recommend, or go again myself (or both).Also an unbeatable price at under 100 for a night, its worth a fair bit more.

Difficult to find something to object to, im a very precise person...i would notice mouldy caulking in bathrooms and there was None.

Nice room and balcony in a beautiful environment. Breakfast was okay, but not very diverse. The staff is very friendly.

The hotel’s location and grounds were beautiful. it’s across from a bar/ restaurant so easy if you don’t want to wonder to far.

To be honest, it felt like the “Parents “ had gone away and left the kids in charge! There was nobody at reception when we arrived. we eventually were shown our room, the air conditioning was soo noisy! We ate in the hotel restaurant. There was so condiments on the table or gratuities, like bread or olive oil. Like we had come to expect from our stay in Italy. I did complain about the food. The two main dishes we ordered one was beef the other pork, they were literally the same! honestly even the teenage waitress didn’t dispute it. Yet it cost 117 euros! You could tell the chief on that night had no love for what he was cooking! It’s a real shame as the hotel could be so much better and how it achieved 4 stars well I’ve no idea. We will never be staying there again.

Great historic building restored to a high standard with modern art and excellent design, on a pretty little square near the center of town offering nice views of the village and the mountain.

The room was very hot when we arrived, with the air conditioning not functioning and the windows shut. Promises of the issue being addressed never materialised. One room had an ant colony in the bathroom, the shower curtains were frankly disgusting but luckily (for us) the tiles in the bathroom were grey so the mould around the shower was not too visible. The walls are marked by countless stains and smears from luggage.

Very nice hotel. I spend many weekends with my wife and dog visiting different parts of the region. This was one of the nicer hotels that stayed in based on the price point.

It’s a bit of a walk to the downtown. But not much. Very easy.
