It was Sunday very wet day and I arrived at 3 o’clock and couldn’t check until five so I wasn’t very happy

The hotel seems abandoned, you have to go to a different location to check in.No hot water and uncomfortable bed.

Rooms were basic, comfortable and clean - exactly what we needed! Check in was at the hotel across the road - all within walking distance - great location

The hotel was well located and was quiet.

The room was far too small for two people in single beds. There was also no kettle or tea and coffee.

It's an old hotel which is actually closed and the rooms are managed by Matis hotel nearby, where checkin and optional breakfast take place. The road where the hotel is located is quite and there are nice bars and restaurants at its doorstep.

The property could do with some renovation, in my room the toilet light switch was blocked and one of the windows' blinds was missing altogether. However, all in all for a short business stay it's OK.

Pleasant, helpful receptionist, who gave clear instructions how to arrive and how to self check-in after 10 pm.

Vary untidy, smells bad, air conditioner not working as well as the socket in the bathroom. Cleaning ladies are very noisy in the morning, bad informed about the visitors, early in the morning unlocked the door and tried to get in.

We've stayed here quit a few times over the years. We miss Ceaser at the front desk. Would also be nice to have a vending machine on premises.

We are walking the via Francigena - the hotel Bastimento is perfect for an overnight stay on the Via. Staff at check-in friendly and helpful

In need of renovation

I got what it was proposed to be: Low prize with essential comfort. The owner runs nearby another Hotel "Mathis" with a cozy restaurant. If you're just looking for sleeping well and eating tasty dishes that's the right choice. I'll come back.

Near to Free parking, personnel at Matis Hotel was nice and friendly. Breakfast and coffee very nice altogether with restaurant personal.

You must pay attention on check in which is 500 meters from the Hotel Bastimiento, actually you need to stop first and pick up the key from Hotel Matis then go to Hotel Bastimiento.

Very clean room with air conditioning. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely breakfast. Great for pilgrims on the Via Francigena

AC, spacious room & bathroom, good restaurant at Hotel Mathis.

A little dated but expected for the price.

The breakfast, a good continentale breakfast with fresh cereale Bread, cheese, bacon, ego’s, jogjurt and cereals. The staf in the restaurant was very friendly and speaks English.

Smell inside, breakfast pretty basic, the hotel is vintage but doesn’t look cosy. Our room was very small

*Check-in is at Hotel Mathis, where the staff are super friendly and helpful.The room has a comfortable bed with lots of closet space. The bed linens were nice, as were the towels. There are power outlets on each side of the bed, something we’ve come to appreciate on an extended trip. Of particular note was the included breakfast (*which is served at Hotel Mathis, about a two minute walk from Bastimemto). There was a great range of options, including cold meats, cheese, hard boiled eggs, cereals, yogurts and, of course, lots of sweets. The coffee at Mathis is excellent and they’ll bring you as many cups as you want.

The shower was very poor. While there is lots of hot water and good pressure, the shower head is terrible. It created high pressure, narrow streams of water that were almost painful (think Water Pik). To make matters worse there was a big gap in water coverage, making hair and body rinsing really challenging.The room also got very warm. We managed this as best we could by closing the bathroom door (the water heater there was pumping out most of the heat), but we atill had to have the bedroom window open to sleep comfortably. That was a problem because our room overlooked a busy street, with loud vehicles and conversations late into the night, and in the early morning.

we were In an empty hotel with no facilities .The room was tiny, drab and the hotel had an air of neglect. we were not told before booking that check in was in a different hotel as was the breakfast . we received an email later after booking that check in and breakfast were at another hotel. the room was so small that there was no room at o e side of the bed to get out and the bathroom door was squeezed again st the end of the bed. an awful room an awful hotel. we felt we were duped,
