    Pros +

    • Good location. We had a family room with our grandkids, it met our requirements. We were aware there were limited food options in the area, so we self catered.
    • Allows pets
    • Incredible location great room and ameneties, very friendly manageress, with a United petrol station just across the road for cheap fuel, but for me you can't beat this country location, if you are looking for a place between Ayr and Rockhampton, you won't find better and great prices too under $100

    Cons -

    • There were very limited plates and cutlery available. A barbecue was listed on the website, but this was out of commission, luckily I enquired about this before we arrived.
    • Wanted cc number after booking. Made no mention she was going to charge 30 bucks for pets only that she needed it for the booking. When I questioned the charge, her response was it was an extra cleaning fee because of so much fur. Very scammy.I wouldn't have had an issue with the charge if she had just said there was going to be one. Her way of going about it amounts to theft. Rooms are old, which is fine, but not worth the price. They don't leave the aircon remote, so your options are either keep it on and freeze or keep it off and die from heat., dont want you to flush the toilets, wifi barely works. Only stay here if you have to as a last resort.
    • Well you cant blame the motel for the fact that Telstra reception was weak for my mobile. The lack of wifi reception in the room is a bummer, but....wait they are getting Starlink, once they are online with that it 5 stars all the way from me. However I managed to get two bars of Telstra reception in one specefic place in my room and thethered my phone to my laptopatched Disney Plus, so it worked out. I love this motel, when Starlink gets installed it will be heaven on a stick.

    It was fine

The lady told me to go into the wrong room, then yelled at me in the morning that i was in the wrong room. She was straight up rude and abusive. Further, the room i was in was meant for another person so that person was trying to find their room at like 1am but obviously couldnt. And then charged me for a cleaning fee because i had my dog in the wrong room... of which was her fault. I booked for pet friendly, the charge should be upfront and applied when paid first. I was also in the room for just sleeping so total of like 9 hours.

Very pleasant, spacious and clean and tidy. Tank water tasted delicious

Great accommodation, even though the furniture is rather worn (chewed). Lol Clean and comfortable enough. Would stay again. Plenty of parking and nice grassed area to walk the dog.

The shower. The hot water took ages to come through. I thought it wasn't working at first.

The property was located in a position that was suitable & it was clean.

Didn’t like the fact that the aircon temp could not be controlled, that after booking we were informed on the day of arrival that we needed to pay an extra $20 for our dog, no mention of this charge before the day of arrival, no fly screens so windows could not be opened due to the huge amounts of flying insects & no internet in the room & phone coverage in the area very very poor.

This motel was a stone's throw from the highway andnin a perfect apot to break up the trip from Brisbane to Townsville. It was a lot less expensive than similar motels in surrounding towns.

Look, at $99 a night you're not expecting the Hilton. The bugs seemed to find many ways inside, but my real gripe is that all the doors have funky glass panels in them, and the carport lights were left on all night. There was no way to darken the room so I ended up with a pretty dreadful night's sleep. Paint over the glass, I reckon. Or at least curtain the glass.

Great place for family and large trailer close to the highway but did not hear the highway noise at all very pleased ?

    7KarenPosted on: 1-21-2025

It was quiet even though it is situated on the highway so convenient location for just an overnight stop. Clean rooms

Patchy internet, the door to the room had windows in it that meant the lighting outside shone in all night.

Great location for a quick stop. Comfortable bed and sheets. Julie was very communicative which was fantastic.

    9HarriPosted on: 1-14-2025

Location is good. Quiet and room to walk our dog outside. Very clean.

Lights under verandah outside units too bright, makes for a harder time to fall asleep.

I have never seen a shower screen so clean! Amazing. And the owner was so lovely. Received a phone call and text message prior to arrival. Then she came around to welcome us once we were settled in and meet our furry family member.

Would be good to have a fenced off area so the dog could have a run around after a long day of driving.

Very Very basic. Only one basin. No exorst fan in bathroom. Smoke detector missing. Our dog Very interested in smell of the bed spread.

Pet-friendly, good destination re distance travelled

Many restrictions on dogs (that other pet-friendly locations don’t have), unusually complicated instructions for microwave which didn’t work, only food option was nearby roadhouse which had limited offerings, expensive extra tariff for dogs ($10 per pet compared with $5 in every other location we used)

    8MiriamPosted on: 11-16-2024

All the basic facilities needed were provided and the place was clean and comfortable. The owner was friendly and helpful Fantastic empty beach just a 10 min drive away Very convenient location just off the A1

Convenient location. Excellent price. Clean comfortable.

Fan was a bit noisy but once asleep didn’t notice.
