Hotel La Freixera

the front desk woman named marianne was VERY helpful and kind. she pointed me in the direction of the absolute best vegan restaurant i ate at in my entire time in spain (2 + weeks)- called la vermuteria- a few minutes away. the place is very clean and well appointed. you can pull up in the back to unload and they have parking that costs extra. originally my parking was a 5 min walk away but then someone cancelled on the closer parking and i got bumped up to parking that 30 seconds away. great spot- could accommodate an SUV.

i suggested they get a topper for the bed- as it was not comfortable (hard/lumpy). i hope they take my advice as the place is really lovely and you can tell they take care of a lot of details- so i can tell they care.

I have been to Solsona before and was aware of the hotel but hadn't stayed there - it is a bit of a hidden gem. I booked at short notice and rang the hotel and they couldn't have been more helpful. The room was spotless and very comfortable. The hotel is in the narrow streets of the historic area of Solsona with many bars and restaurants or tapas options nearby.

Beautiful room, decoration taste, building with character, extremely friendly owners.

Difficult to find a good restaurant in the neighbourhood

Room had very high ceilings, comfortable beds and the host there is super helpful and nice.

Lovely small hotel located in the centre of Solsona. Good parking available within a couple of minutes walk.The hotel is nicely designed with clean and comfortable rooms set within converted historic buildings. The interiors are modern whilst retaining many features and character of the original buildings.Very good choice and quality for breakfast.The staff were very pleasant and helpful.Overall this was good value for money.Solsona is nicely situated in the countryside. I used this as a base for a few days cycling in the area, and there are great routes and scenery in the area. The weather at the end of September was perfect - warm but not too hot.A very enjoyable stay.

The hotel does not do meals so you will need to eat out. This is not an issue as there are a few restaurants within a couple of minutes walk from the hotel:Restaurant Fermin is a very traditional restaurant with good food and a very pleasant owner.El Colbert is a large Spanish / Italian restaurant with a good menu including great selection of good quality pizzas.Restaurant Crisami - about 10 minutes walk is a more modern restaurant with very good food and a nice lively atmosphere on a Saturday night.Beware however that for Spain - eating out seems to be a bit earlier - and whilst there are many bars which are busy earlier in the evening Solsona is not a place for late night eating and drinking.

Magnificent old building, some super old features omn show like the well. Room was super, modern and exceptionally clean, bed nice and comfy. Bathroom was good too. Staff were super helpful, and very organised, wanted to make sure my stay was as pleasant as possible.

Nothing of note. Its woirth remembering that if you stay during the week youi are in the old town and a lot of restauarnats are closed.

The parking is actually not at the hotel itself. It is a short walk, but I would have preferred it to be on site.

Room was excellent with a balcony in the garden and easily accessible. Bed super comfortable. Amenities were welcome and thoughtful. Breakfast was ample and service done well.

The location of the hotel is great, right in Solsona, we were helped with the parking space, which was convenient.Staff are lovely, very helpful and friendly, especially at breakfast time. Nice breakfast, cooked fresh on request.The rooms are simple, but very clean, a very comfortable bed and a good shower.

Gemma was fantastic, super accommodating and really helpful. The building itself is beautiful, and Solsonna is a lovely town. The room was fantastic, really clean and the balcony was lovely.

The air conditioning didn't work too well, but this was a minor inconvenience compared with all the good points!

Lovely hotel in a tranquil setting but still in the historic heart of Solsona. Beautiful and sympathetic restoration of a medieval building with much character and charm. Very friendly, helpful staff and manager. Good quality secure parking. Comfortable, well appointed and spacious room. There is a lovely private courtyard to sit out. Superb breakfast. We would love to stay again in the future. Thank You!

The hotel was built in the 14th century and is fascinating. You could not get better staff than Sarah, Gemma etc. they are simply wonderful. The hotel is located in the heart of the Old city, which is terrific. We will definitely return.

A unique, full of character & steeped in history, our room had a small garden which after a long motorbike ride was just fantastic to enable relaxation, Gemma was the perfect host, who was very welcoming, professional & friendly.

Absolutely nothing!

Beautiful building in a lovely location and so faithfully restored. Breakfast was ok, simple choices.

Bed was way too soft and luckily, had colleagues already there to collect our keys as our flight was delayed.

The staff were excellent. Manuel went above and beyond to help us to park, and was an excellent host. The room was lovely, with a balcony, a comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. The breakfast was laid just for us and we have freshly made scrambled eggs - far and away the best breakfast anywhere on our holiday.

A little more information in advance on where to park and how to access the hotel would have been useful.

This place is just awsome, we've been there a few times and everything is great. The rooms are spacious, confortable with a high quality design in an historical building. The access is easy and there is a quite a few parking options nearby.

beautiful old renovated hotel, great rooms, a bit noisy room however is a reality with this old heritage. very nice staff and great breakfast. The city is small but very authentic with lots of history. great bars and atmosphere. private parking for bikes for only 4 Euro p bike/day.

Fascinating property with lots of history on display but with a contemporary twist. Comfortable and spacious room. Complete with original 14 th century walls and kitchen sink! Excellent staff and fine breakfast. Garage for motorcycle much welcome

Central location but very quiet. Lovely staff. Beautiful room.
