Hotel Camino Real

Location is always convenient as a stop over on our way to Portugal.

Very disappointed that the associated restaurant is no longer dog friendly. It was one of our favourites! Sad that they had a change of policy.

This was our 7th stay here, a great stop over hotel on our way from Southern Spain to Northern Europe. The rooms are very spacious as is the bathroom, everything is exceptionally clean. The Spanish breakfast in the morning is a truly great deal for the what you pay.

The hotel is spotless and feels brand new .

We are Easter Sunday and the town felt closed . Otherwise loved it

The restaurant staff were unpleasant disinterested robotic Lacking in of personality without a smile, but did work very hard and in my opinion the lamb I had was cooked perfectly and very tasty Thank you

If there were normal arrangements available ON THE PREMISES the rating would be perfect - without doubt we will return, but having travelled 1000 miles to get there I wouldn’t have expected to go to a motorway services diner to get fed! The staff were lovely in every way.

No proper food arrangements

Superb room. Pet friendly. Straight forward well presented breakfast. Very fresh modern decor.

Just be aware that evening meals are served at their associated truck stop 200m down the road. This place is amazing. The people there are great. 3 course fixed price menu. The food is quickly served by incredible hard worked staff, very straight forward good quality with enormous portions. Good value. No need to dress up! A great experience we will talk about for a long time, an experience to be enjoyed, but not for the feint hearted.

Having to walk 200 yards to a bar!!

Comfortable room in a good location _ just a couple of hours from Santander ferry port. The associated bar/ restaurant does the best burgers.

Our room was ok it looked out the front. They changed our twin room to a double bed for us.

It advertised as having a restaurant which they do not use and you have to go to a place just down the road. When we used it in 2020 the breakfast was all self service which was really good, now you have a member of staff serving you on a very limited choice. I just had orange juice, mug of tea and a croissant my husband had the same and a orange as well. We had to ask for jam and butter to go with it. Compared to other hotels we have been to while on this trip it was really not value for money. I was very disappointed

Modern style, renovated since our last trip. Great location. Pet friendly and good walking areas. Soundproof rooms. Helpful staff. Will definitely go back on our next trip.

Pillows were nasty and the check in took ages but receptionist was pleasant.

No restaurant on site. Had to drive as too dangerous to walk with dog & wheelchair on busy dark road. Dog not allowed in restaurant

Great for one night stop off. Stayed with our dog. Staff were friendly. The accommodation was very clean and the room was comfortable. No dinner on the premises but there’s a cafe/restaurant down the road. Would recommend. It’s easy and straightforward.

I loved the young lady that served us, she was wonderful, helpful and full of joy.The lady in the morning was also lovely.We went to the local restaurant down the road, which apparently is owned by the same family and we got two lovely sandwhiches to go.We especially loved the dog friendly astmosphere and we would stay here again on our next trip.If you are travelling from UK to Spain or portugal, then you need to stay here.

Stayed here on way down from Calais to The Algarve, and because we had a dog the hotel came back with great reviews. The Hotel was just off the main highway and set back on a spur road. easy to find and spotlessly clean inside and out. The room was really big with plenty of room to move around, and room for our dog who is large at 45kgs (only 10 euros extra). Beds were very comfortable and pillows were great. The shower was excellent, and just have to ask for a hairdryer etc from the reception if required in advance. Girls in reception were very pleasant on both check in and out. Breakfast was only extra £10 euros for 2, it was limited but very good value considering the price! Looking to stay here on our return journey home.

No evening meal at the hotel, but a cafe/restaurant that they also run 200mtrs down the road. its open 24hours as a cafe, but only until 4pm or after 8pm as a restaurant. Too late for us to eat at restaurant as up early in the morning so got something to eat from the cafe, although very good and reasonably priced. Not enough plug sockets in room as only 2 in the main room that I could find.

Clean and comfortable and very warm everywhere.Menu of the day in the restaurant 5 mins away was superb also, as was the breakfast in the morning.

The staff were good and the room was verry clean. We were supplied with a kettle on asking as there are no tea/coffee facilities in the room

The breakfast has much to be desired. We were given two choices and these were served from behind a counter without prior perusal. This has really coloured our perception and was a great shame as upto then everything was fine.
