- The hotel is very nicely decorated and clean. The location is absolutely quiet and the beds are comfortable. Villafranca is a small city but a perfect location to explore the Bardenas Reales. We had a very nice dinner and outstanding wine for a very good price. Love to come again!
Cons -
- Villafranca is a small agricultural village with little to offer beyond the hotel, a converted seminary. I had chosen it for its proximity to Bardenas Reales. It served a purpose.

Very comfortable stay, and the hosts were very helpful and accommodating.Even though we are vegetarians, they were able to provide us with a very nice evening meal indeed! There are lots of paths/caminos close to the hotel, and we were able to enjoy a nice run in the morning before we left.
Beautiful big rooms with amazing views, tasty breakfast and dinner, lovely staff!

The room was beautiful and it felt relaxing from the moment we walked in. The building had been expensively restored and this was reflected throughout. We enjoyed a three course dinner which was good value for money. It was particularly pleasant to sit in comfortable surroundings and enjoy a glass of wine. We liked the location and took a stroll around the town, which has several buildings of architectural significance. The host was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We will go there again.
Nothing!
Quiet, great dinner options, good breakfast.
Excellent air conditioning in the roomroom spotlessly clean & up to date with the furniture & furnishings. Bathroom modern, well maintained & clean.friendly staff.interesting building.
the flies over the food laid out on the breakfast table.
Friendly, family run hotel located next to an amazing church and historical building complex. Both room and dinner very good value for money. Nice area under the trees at front of hotel to have a drink and relax.
Lovely old building, drinks very generous and food good.
Not much fruit for breakfast, kiwis were unbeatable as do untie. Had to pay extra 2 E for scrambled egg.
Very nice and small hotel. Owners are very friendly and try to make your stay as comfortable as possible
Interesting building, a nineteenth century seminary. Plain but very comfortable room with lovely white bed linen and good bathroom.
we were able to park outside in the hotels car park. The hotel had previously been a convent, so had a lot of character features. The receptionist was very helpful and although her English was limited we speak a little Spanish so we were fine: the room was very clean and ideal for an overnight stop : We had an evening meal Pan pumpkin soup which was very bland, followed by Spanish sausages eggs & a very small portion chips : for dessert I had ice cream, hubby had cheese. 17€ pp, so not too bad. There is a little bar at the reception where you can purchase drinks too. Outside at front there is plenty of seating to relax. I can’t comment really on the village as we didn’t walk all the way round it seemed very quiet - we visited one of the nearby eco parks Bardenas Reales Natural Park.
I don’t know whether we took a wrong turn to get to hotel but in the small village we had to go down very narrow spaces ( being in a VW transporter with a trailer on the back ? ) I don’t know what we would of done had we of had to turn round it was nerve racking for me and I was only the passenger!! however we made it to hotel and found a different exit which was much easier, although not sign posted.
staff were very good. food good. comfortable room.
car parking was free
bedroom window looked onto church and the church bells were in full swing, very noisy , should we have know about the bells we would have found another hotel
Friendly staff, good dinner, nice 'special' location.
Super location for checking our Bardenes Reales. The manager and his wife are just the sweetest couple, very helpful and attentive.
We were travelling from Santander to the coast and although a little off the motorway and in a quiet town this hotel was perfect. Our room was big enough and very clean with good WiFi. We heard church bells but these stopped in the early evening so no problem. The owners were so lovely, helpful and friendly. The evening meal was excellent value and much better than expected. Homemade starter and main course and a good dessert. All served with a smile and bread and drinks. We had homemade vegetable soup/ homemade leek pasty to start and ragout of pork and chicken in a honey and pepper marinade with chips and vegetables. All was really tasty. It cost 17 euros each plus drinks which were reasonably priced. Breakfast was cereal, yoghurts then a choice we had bread, cheese, ham and jams. We could have had eggs for a small extra charge. There was coffee and orange juice. Good value at 6.50 euros each. Our room cost 72 euros which we paid at the property when we left although our reservation was held by our credit card. When we left we used a map the hotel gave us and did a slight, recommended detour to look at the national park which is desert like with amazing rock formations, Bardenas Reales. It added twenty minutes to our journey but was worth it. Great stay we will return!
Nothing thought it was all great.
Very helpful lady booked us in and our room was comfortable and spacious. We ate in restaurant and enjoyed a good meal at a reasonable price. Parking for bikes on the property.
