About
This hotel is situated in a majestic building: an old convent dating from the 17th century, in Valle del Ambroz in the north of the province of Cáceres. The hotel has been renovated but has preserved impressive spaces such as the cloister. It is a spacious property that enjoys plenty of natural light and spectacular views of the mountains and town. Enjoy this fantastic landscape by going on a trek or horseback riding route through the surrounding nature. Sampling the excellent regional cuisine in the hotel restaurant is also an absolute must.

Pros +
- Very close from all the sites. Very nice surroundings to walk around and take pictures. The staff especially Christina went out of her way to drive us to the bus terminal : something to remember
- The property was clean. Otherwise not many good things to say.
- Stayed many times before. Nice hotel with friendly staff, and a very pleasant experience. Dinner was good for the price, but would willingly pay a bit more for a better quality main course
Cons -
- The hotel is very dated. The pictures give a false impression. The electric chargers don’t work and no number to call. So you’re left stuck. I had to go charge in a dark area of town alone. The staff didn’t seem to care. I wasn’t given much info at check in. No wifi code. No info that most restaurants in town were closed. Had to figure everything out myself. There was no one at the breakfast buffet. So it was really self service without any support. I’d avoid this hotel. I booked because it had chargers and accepted dogs. But the chargers didn’t work. Will find another place in another town when travelling through.
- Arrived for breakfast 45 mins before close and the scrambled egg was dried out and rubbery. Really needs replacing regularly during the breakfast period
- Nothing - thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Welcoming staff.Dog friendly.Beautiful location Excellent food.Large, very comfortable room.Atmospheric building.
Nothing - thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Secure easy parking . Excellent staff. Spacious hotel and room, and environs. Location was perfect in old town Restaurant good.
I had one dodgy meal when I ordered a local specialty. Otherwise food was good and the set menu was good value.
The staff was really great, the location was nice and the garden looked pretty. Dog friendly.
The air conditioning in the room was not working and it was 27 degrees inside the room. We changed the room but the Aircon situation was the same, luckily we had two windows that we could open which however they faced the street and it was a bit noisy during the night. The bed was squichy and the furniture outdated which shouldn't happen at this price level. There was no water in the shallow fountain even though there were indications to visit it.
Location and great dinner and breakfast
Great building on the edge of a really interesting town. Very happy with the doggy treat bag and bed in the room nice touch. Comfortable spacious room
Restaurante only opened at 8.30 but that’s Spain
Really lovely hotel in the best spot in Hervas. Step out of the door and you're in the amazing medieval quarter. However don't be fooled. It's called the Jewish quarter and literally adorned with multiple Stars of David. This was a marketing ploy in the 1960s. Jews never lived there. But it's absolutely worth seeing. The hotel bed was incredibly comfortable and I slept like a log. We had the set dinner for €18, which was 3 courses, water, a glass of wine or a soft drink and bread. The asparagus soup was the best I've tasted. It was very good value. We came with our dog, which gets a €15 surcharge. However there was a bed, 2 bowls and a toy waiting for her. Saved dragging more stuff up from the car.
A couple of things let it down slightly. October can be really warm in Spain. The room was too hot and the aircon had been turned off for the season. And the pool was closed for the season as well. I'm happy to swim in cold pools and I wish we'd known before booking.
Good location, stunning building, comfortable bed
Fantastic property and location with very friendly staff.
We were very disappointed that the pool was closed and we were not informed. A little disappointed with the evening meal, very small portions and no vegetables.
Great hotel. We had a very comfortable and spacious room. The staff were also helpful and recommended some places for dinner.
Customer service very good particularly Joseba who as usual provided the very best attention to the needs of guests in a friendly and professional manner - he is a credit to the hotel.
I still struggle with the TV controls and didn't manage to switch on any channels. Not a major problem and not worth me troubling reception as I was staying for one night only.
The hotel is in a refurbished old convent. Inside is spacious and airy. The refurbishment has been done with taste. The location is great for the village and for hiking. The views from our windows were beautiful. The swimming pool and the swimming pool area were really good.
The soundproofing was not very good. So we could hear the people talking next room and probably they could hear us.
Spacious hotel, atmospheric and all staff pleasant and helpful. We travel with a dog and the area is fantastic for dog walking.
Only suggestion would be to give out some printed walks information and promote the natural surroundings more, it is beautiful.
Good quiet room. Excellent dinner. Good breakfast.
Tried to have a bath but the water coming out of the taps wasn't very clean!
A beautifully restored nunnery. Stunning. Very attentive staff. Old town just outside the main entrance.

Good location on the edge of town for easy arrival but short walk to centre. The building is an attractive former convent. Plenty of secure on-site parking to the rear. Lovely swimming pool which opens at 10 am for a pre-check out swim; plenty of sunbeds. Mini bar fridge in the room. The town itself is interesting with quaint medieval houses in the old centre, a Via Verde hiking route along a disused railway line and a significant classic motorbike museum.
There was very little water pressure in the shower. The maintenance could be a bit more careful - paint missing from furniture legs, empty picture hooks, rawl plugs in the walls - give out a slightly uncared for appearance. It would be nice to have an attractive outside space in which to enjoy a drink. Not quite the finesse of a Parador.
Location , room size , position
No cold water for bath . Taps didn’t work . Safe was not working , instructions not correct for safe . Curtains hanging of rails .
Superb, stylish conversion of historic building in great position in historic Centre with easy private parking!
All good
