    Pros +

    • Facilities and the staff are super nice. Breakfast is good and so is the SPA area. Our hotel room view to the mountains was beautiful and it’s extraordinary to wake up to it.
    • Accomodations were clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable and accommodating.
    • Beautiful hotel. The room was great, the facilities are great and the chef restaurant was probably the best one we visited during our vacation. Highly recommended

    Cons -

    • The SPA is super nice but the management needs to be more attentive to the guests who do notfollow rules: we saw kids outside their dedicated schedule and also inside premises where they are not allowed (sauna, for example).
    • Having to wear a bathing cap (mandatory) for all pools
    • Its located near Nelas, not much to do in this area

    The facilities are nice.

Would have an improvement on the breakfast, it’s the same everyday we stayed there no eggs a la carte or any options.

Gorgeous spa hotel in the Dao wine region. Clean, comfortable, spacious rooms with a natural, Zen-like decor and ambiance. Spa facilities are very nice and welcoming there are many services offered. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant both nights. Elevated Portuguese cuisine well prepared and served. Excellent wine list and the servers are able to suggest the perfect pairing for your meal. Nelas is a small quiet town about an hour’s drive to the Serra da Estrela. Perfect place to stay to relax and enjoy nature. Lovely staff.

Nothing- we didn’t want to leave

Staff very nice, breakfast delicious and views breathtaking.Room is not very big and the lights are a bit strong but it was very comfortable and with amazing view.

The swimming pool and spa area is very small and was full of people sleeping around… not very welcoming.

We were on a road trip from Madrid heading towards the coast. So I booked this hotel as a stop off so I could rest as the only driver. We were very impressed by the comfort of the hotel. Lovely staff, very impressive superior double with sofa bed. Turned out the sofa bed was a little nook in a loft space! My son loved this! We didn’t use the spa area as it was quite busy with Valentine’s couples and I think we had the dream of having the pool to ourselves. But , the pool area looked great. Swimming caps are needed ( €5 per person) but as we didn’t use ours, we have a nice little souvenir from this Swiss style meets modern hotel in the mountains. Nice warm fire was lit in the lounge area , and a great place to play cards as a family.

The village where the hotel was situated was a bit industrial , but as I mentioned, we booked this place as a stop over to relax and have a good nights sleep before continuing our road trip through Portugal. Not many restaurants near the hotel, so food options limited unless you feel the need to try and find the restaurants in the area/ village. We couldn’t. The hotel restaurant is closed on Mondays ( when we arrived) so the only option to eat in the hotel was in the bistro. Quite limited food options but ok. Not excellent but fills your tummy.

Breakfast , massage was great and the room was amazing

The temperature of the pool water and the surroundings were cold. For a SPA there were too many children jumping into the pool even with the no jumping sign. At night, we ordered "pataniscas de polvo" but there was no octopus only egg.The steam room was turned off at 7 PM.

Really nice hotel to relax and take some time off for yourself.Breakfast was good and complete. Staff helpful and friendly. Book the restaurant when you book the hotel, can be full as it is a must visit place in the area.

The view is nice but some houses on the side are really close. The temperature of the pool could be a bit warmer on the winter.

Very good spa hotel in the lush scenery , breakfast was fantastic.

The separate toilet without a wash basin was a bit odd ?.Coffee from a machine wasn't that greatBathroom lighting could be better

Very comfortable and enjoyable stay, good food in both restaurants, brilliant massage and spa.

The room was very big, with a big balcony overlooking the mountains. The staff was super friendly and we were lucky with the entertainment that night. We had a lot of fun! We enjoyed the SPA in the afternoon, dinner at Tertulia and the evening at the Bistro Bar. All amazing! I was staying with some friends at the bar and a group of men approached us and they were a bit drunk and made us uncomfortable. The bartender intervened and made sure we were ok. We really appreciated this!

I think the only down side was the fact that the SPA was very overcrowded and the temperature of the water wasn't great. The connection between the indoor and outdoor swimming pool is a great idea, but the temperature of the water didn't really allow for a nice "spa" experience. Also, I think the room is missing some small details, like more hangers for the towels and a bin near the sink. But again, these are more suggestions as the hotel is already pretty amazing! :)

    Poor

The room temperature was abusively high and despite complaining, we could jot sleep for the 3 straight nights. Food at the bar wasn't of the expected minimum quality, and we felt bad after eating it. The Turkish bath smelled bad, looking like lacking higiene and maintenance.

A very enjoyable stay. Friendly and helpful staff, great food and facilities, lovely view from room.

Beautiful hotel, fabulous staff, really clean ? The restaurant food was amazing and the facilities were great.Would most definitely return.

Only criticism was the hot food at breakfast wasn't hot. Apart from that it was am amazing breakfast, beautifully lay out with lots of selections.

Really pleasant rooms, nicely decorated. Amazing breakfast with homemade jam and cakes. Staff was very helpful and nice!

Options to eat nearby were very limited, restaurant was fully booked and hotel bar didn’t have many options and capacity to function properly.

basically the only decent hotel in Nelas, brand new, nice decor, early check-in, room upgrade, good hamburguer

expensive, no TV in the bar, no outdoor swimming pool, friendly but very slow check-in, no information about restaurants or other things to do (wineries, sports, etc.)

    9JosePosted on: 3-31-2024

Good Breakfast Excellent Staff in the Spa Excellent Offer of massages in the SPANice offer in the bar and above all a very professional and nice staff in all the Hotel.

Breakast was very good. The spa was very relaxing with the indoor/outdoor pool was perfect. Nice to have specific times for families.

Orange juice for breakfast could be natural. The restaurant is ok, but a bit pricey for the service/food.Personally dislike toilets in the bedrooms separated only by glass.
