Good cooking in the restaurant
Spa did not work just pool was opened
Excellent thermal pool. Great for visiting Coa museum. Nice restaurant.
All staff we encountered were professional, helpful and friendly. The room was minimalist, inspiring relaxation and very clean. The shower was wonderful!
The pillows were weak with minimal filling. The room lighting was dark whereas, an ambient light would have been nice. A four-star hotel should have a hot water kettle in the room with complimentary tea provided.
The location was beautiful and very peaceful. The lady at the reception was really nice and tried to solve the problems but I think that an hotel like this cannot have this kind of problems and solve them with a heater
The AC in the room didn’t work and it was winter so it was very cold. At the reception they gave us a heater… also the pool was cold and it wasn’t comfortable to stay there, also the hydromassage jets didn’t work… at the restaurant the food was good but the service not that good… we asked for a tawny port wine (showed in the photo), they served us white, we asked about it and the waitress told us that the harvest this year was like that and didn’t brought the bottle to show us and clear the doubt. So to conclude, our stay wasn’t that good.
Easy to find. Large car park. Friendly receptionist. While our room was a good size, the lighting was very, very poor. The only room with proper lighting was the bathroom, so we had to put those lights on and leave the door open, in order to see anything. Ridiculous and frustrating, I just want to be able to see! We had a small balcony overlooking the river which was nice. The bed was comfortable and the great blackout curtains meant we slept well. We had a fridge but it didn't work, sadly, no kettle in our room. The shower was weird, it had a normal head and a large rain head, but the water came out of both simultaneously. Not really a great way to save water. Breakfast was lovely, good choices and tasty, crispy, fresh pastries. Great coffee.
The room we stayed in did not match with our first impressions of a lovely traditional spa hotel. Our room was all OSB walls and minimist functionality. Maybe the fact the lighting is so bad is by design, to add to the minimal "urban, industrial" feel. However, the room was comfortable once you got settled in. If you hate piano music this is not the place for you, as it plays continuously, and you can hear it in your room from the corridors.
Well appointed rooms, comfortable beds
Outdoor swimming pool is great! Just a little run down which is a pity and deserves proper maintenance
The location and the architecture.
The toilets mus be verified: water is flowing from the taps and the silicone of the bath mus be replaced.
The architecture of the hotel was quite beautiful.
I believe almost every guest was under the impression that the hotel had a connection to the thermal spot and spa. However, it does not. If you search for the hotel online it says in the name that it's a thermal and spa hotel (in Booking it's already corrected), which I think it's quite confusing. Several guests complained about this.Additionally, some parts of the hotel seem abandoned. It seems that the best days of the hotel are in the past.
The checkout
The place requires a long due maintenance. The shower door and its hinges are about to break anytime, the whole unit is filled with damp, no ventilation in the bathroom (window door locked by screws). The swimming pool is too tiny with the amount of possible residents. We are still trying to understand the usage of the terms "thermals and spas" for that hotel as the only thing you will find is a tiny pool.
Leaving the main road you wind your way up into the hills a short distance to find the hotel at the bottom of a lovely hill top town. The hotel is a collection of old and new, the new being very contemporary architecture with a lot of particle board and fair faced concrete walls, not to everyone's taste perhaps. The finishes, especially outside, are looking a bit tired and in need of repainting to spruce them up. Our bedroom balcony had a planting strip over the retaining wall below and most of the plants were dead with weeds growing up. This somewhat spoilt the wonderful view across the valley to terraced slopes of olive trees and grape vines. The mineral pool did of course smell sulphurous but was warm and soothing, a quiet grassed area adjacent had sun loungers. Again the pool was looking rather unkempt with a black 'litter' of leaves or mould in the bottom, regular cleaning would solve this. Staff were very pleasant but not all spoke English so be ready with the phrase book. The evening meal menu had a good selection and our meals were delicious and wines very good and reasonably priced. Breakfast had a reasonable selection but the warming plate was not working so the cooked food was cold. The hotel has won many awards pre-covid presumably when it opened and will again once the management get on top of the maintenance and some refurbishment.
In need of some repainting and better pool maintenance. Garden terraces need replanting in places.
We selected this hotel primarily for the thermal bath, but it showed to be an excellent, quiet stay with a large room, comfy beds, spcious bathroom, very good breakfast and dinner, and nice personnel ! We will definitely come back to experience this once more.
Nothing to dislike, as everything was fine !
Really nice staff.
The hotel needs maintenance, discoloured walls, dirty paths, broken wood pads, etc
Our large room on the third floor had a little terrace with a view of a mountainside. We loved sitting and listening to the variety of birds, even a cuckoo! I did morning yoga in a special meditation room. They also had a kids play area, pool table/game area and quiet desk - all indoors with nature view. The heated outdoor pool with massaging jets was incredible after a day of sightseeing. Breakfast was excellent with great views from large windows. The beds were comfy and the room temperature control was very responsive. The staff were so courteous and helpful. They gave us a 20% off voucher for the Quinta Vale de Aldeia which led us to take their marvelous tour and tasting. There aren't enough stars for this hotel.
The place is beatifull, in the middle of the village. Staff are are very nice and we always see high quality and very clean on every visit.
really nothing…
very modern and well designed hotel, the swimming pool is just amazing and the staff is really kind, the restaurant is very good as well with great wine
the bed was really uncomfortable, they said it was king size bed but actually they put 2 mattresses together, result... you keep falling between the mattressesthe light on the room is really dim
Pool, staff and views

Good breakfast, warm room, plenty of food options.
It was cold for us, the heating system was not enough. We booked our dinner at the hotel restaurant for 8,45 pm. It took one and half hour to serve us a dinner. Extremely slow service, beyond any reasonable time. No discount, no excuses. Dining room was also cold, no heating system going. No option of going somewhere else as the hotel is pretty much in the middle of no where. Anything else was fine.
