Location and an extraordinary 270º view over the valley. The food was excellent, especially lunch and dinner.
It is an old building but everything was clean and seemed to work. It is oversized for the number of guests it is likely to get. The parking was fine, but again I think this is because we were very few staying at the hotel.
The location is perfect to discover Toro and there are two restaurants connected to the hotel, one of those with a great view.
The room is very simple and has the bare minimum. The tv hanging over the secondary bed (usually used by kids) is quite dangerous.
We had the perfect stay at Juan II. The location was great and the facilities were beautiful. It was the right place to stay to discover Toro and all it had to offer. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone who travels to this area.
there was nothing we didn’t like!
The bed was really comfortable and bathroom ok. Very clean, and an excellent view of the River Duero.
The Halloween evening was very disappointing . We ate the food, but it wasn’t really worth 31 euros each. Only about ten people in the restaurant, no atmosphere or music and 31st of October is my husband’s birthday and he was 80!So a double disappointment there !!
We loved this place. We had booked a twin room with balcony. The first night we were put in a double with balcony and found the bed a bit small. There was no issue at all the next day when we asked to move. Very pleased to help! The rooms were spacious, clean and had terrific views of the River Duero and the countryside. The hotel was well positioned at the end of the small town of Toro and our balcony was a terrific sun trap. The bar/restaurant (again with brilliant views) was really good value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Check-in was quick and easy and you can park free right outside the hotel.
It was great
We’ve stayed here many times but this visit everything seemed very end of season. Restaurant not open and not much available in town so ate in local bar for tapas.
The door to our room was difficult to open and the sliding balcony door was wobbly and the wood frame rotten at the bottom. Felt the room needed an update.
Great view and location. Parking OK. Liked the bar in the square where no English was spoken. Just how we like it .Two handy supermarkets in easy reach where we found some good wines to bring home. Town was preparing for some big event as we left so a bit rushed to miss road closures.
Hotel reception didn't know when/if their bistro/cafe was open. We were told food would be available at 6 pm (early for Spain) so we called in, sat and watched some builders measuring up for a while and then it wasn't open for food at all. Back to the lovely bar in the square.
Location is impeccable, right in the old town, next to bars and restaurants. The rooms have great views on the river and the bodegas. There's a nice bar& restaurant next to the swimming pool with the same views. The swimming pool is a must if you go in the summer. The staff were really nice and helpful. The AC in the room worked great.
It's a pity there are no fridges in rooms: we're talking about oenotourism, people will buy nice wines in the wineries and might want to have a bottle in their room, at the terrace, in the evening, but in +35°C heat in summer, without a fridge in the rooms, it's impossible. The swimming pool is small, but the real problem is the swimming pool area, there are literally 4 sun chairs, so it gets crowded real fast. The room standard seems to be varying even if you book the same kind of room (our friends got a room without a coffee machine while we had one in our room with new coffee capsules each morning, very handy if you want to have a breakfast on your balcony with views in the morning). At front desk there very often was no one to attend arriving/leaving guests during really long periods of time, they might be understaffed. The facilities are a little outdated.
Location and building were good, but the view from our room was stunning.
Everything was perfect from staff to the unbelievable view and such a nice town
Weather wasn’t great?
Very comfortable bed. Clean room and bathroom.
All good.
Exceptional view from balcony. Good lift access for mobility impaired. Parking immediately outside, but may not be available in season
Everything - Very poor facilities. No tea/coffee making facilities in room. No fridge/cooler. No mini-bar. Very sparse furnishing. No information on contacting reception etc. or what restaurant hours were. No evening meals in hotel, only a breakfast buffet. No bar.
Location, extra pillows and blanket, warm
Emergency light made it hard to sleep
Great location. Room tiny but very comfy bed. Quiet.
Breakfast bare bones and pricey. Mixed bag.
Nice staff and easy checkin. Let me put my motorcycle in the courtyard off road. A clean modern hotel.
The price as it was a quiet day for the hotel.
Location and views were superb, the hotel and room was very clean.
Restaurant advertised but not open, no bar facility or tea/coffee through the day. If you're not fluent in Spanish you will have difficulty getting answers.
The view, the cafe and the staff were all great. They accepted small dogs.
The parking was bad.
