Hotel Dunajec

I have stayed at this hotel for an extended period of time due to moving houses. Despite the dated exterior, the rooms have modern amenities and some have been recently redecorated with a pleasant modern touch. The restaurant has a completely new interior and a an adjacent conference room with a projector. It is perfect for a longer stay and also if you are traveling for work. The friendliness and warmth of the staff is truly on a very high level and they are willing to accomodate their guests in every way possible to make their stay comfortable. I stayed at the hotel with my rather large dog, and the hotel policy allows pets for a one time fee, which is a huge plus. The cleaning staff is super helpful and work tirelessly to keep everything spotless. They also are patient with the additional workload around furry companions. The reception staff is friendly and openminded and the restaurant staff very lenient and accomodating to patrons.A surprise which I hadn't expected, was thar the area around the hotel is full of birds, due to the proximity of a river under a busy overpass, which is almost never frequented by people. I myself have spotted goldcrests, yellowhammers, swans, herons, cranes and my favorite gray green woodpecker which I've managed to spot from my hotel window. There are also features like dirt walls near the river, which house bird nests, and that is a very rare thing to see. Needless to say, my stay has been very pleasant, which for my solo traveling, neurodivergent self is a rare experience.Pluses:- one time fee for pets- solo female traveler friendly- neurodivergent friendly- clean and comfortable- good for long stays- great area for birding

Excellent! Very friendly staff. Safe storage for my bicycle; and delicious breakfast.

This is not the first time we have stayed with our family at this hotel and we love everything about it. The deluxe rooms are mega comfortable, although once in the room we could hear noise from the street (maybe air conditioning outside)

I had a suite with a separate bedroom and a bath in the bathroom which were very pleasant. The room is recently refurbished with luxury carpet and an elegant wall finish.

The room is not soundproof. The noise from the neighbouring room was not pleasant.

Nice hotel in a good location. Comfortable, clean room. Parking at place. Restaurant in the hotel. Good value for money!

Room smelled of cigarette smoke. Walls above headboards very dirty from the many heads that rested against them (see photo). In the evenings, strong smell of drains.

Clean room and location and late check-in

Breakfast wasn't good at all. No basic elementary things for guests like flops.

The morning experience was excellent, Breakfast was good the the help we received from the lady in reception in printing off a number of documents was excellent.

There was total disinterest from all of the evening staff from the time we arrived to the time we went to our room for the night. The evening receptionist was not expecting us despite our advance booking. When we enquired about the restaurant we were told it had closed at 8pm, even though the time then was 7.50pm. After this being pointed out to him he reluctantly phoned the restaurant and told us it was open. We immediately went there before going to our rooms and was told by restaurant staff that it was closed. After they rang reception they could only offer us one dish, which was actually quite nice. We asked for beer and was told the bar was closed (at 8pm), but we insisted and was told we could be served once before they closed it. After this time staff were present in the bar area but not actually working, unless eating cake counts as work. We asked for more beer (our third in case it should be thought that we had consumed excess alcohol) and the several staff behind the bar would not serve us draught beer but would allow us bottled beer. We went to our rooms about 10pm. I have travelled extensively and do not believe that I have witnessed greater idleness and unhelpfulness in any hotel anywhere . One final comment: there were several Ukrainian flags in the hotel with a statement that the Ukraine cause was supported. We explained that we were voluntary aid workers taking an ambulance to that country and how about actually doing what was claimed. It made no difference. If it wasn't for the entirely different attitude of the lady in reception the following morning I would award the worse rating to this place and no, we won't be staying here again and will advise our colleagues not to.

this place is amazing, if you need to stay for one night and continue your travel (as we did). It's convenient that it's close to the highway. large and comfortable room, delicious and hearty breakfast.

the shower is a bit uncomfortable. lack of a hose makes showering a bit difficult

NOTHING!

Even though we chose one of the most expensive rooms, the room was dirty, my wife killed a cockroach for Pete's sake. Everything was dated and dirty. Not to mention the fact that you could hear the noises of people having sexual intercourse till 4 a.m. from various locations like in some sort of a brothel. Definitely not for families - my wife and child were scared to sleep there. They left the hotel in the morning not even having breakfast not to mention not sleeping the whole night just to get out of there. There should be a sign somewhere - NOT FOR FAMILIES. Shame on you!
