    Pros +

    • Exceptional value, the room was huge, spacious, and a nice view. The hotel is brand new, so it's squeaky clean. The shower was heavenly. The beds and cotton linens very comfortable. The staff went above and beyond the call of duty and their guest service skills were excellent. They even lent me a vacuum cleaner to clean my car right at the front door! Now that is a good example of top guest service.
    • Loved our outside patio space. Peaceful with great views. Appreciated the hotels proximity to the river and park. Makes for a wonderful walk after a day traveling. The bed was very comfortable. Excellent cuisine options in the restaurant. Hotel staff were welcoming & professional. All in all… a great place to stay.
    • Very nice staff.Very clean hotel.Needs warmer water in the shower. One tv set not working.

    Cons -

    • No complaints at all on this one. Only praise. You'll love walking around the little town, the hotel is located right next to a historical walking trail.
    • Having more than 2 electric bikes might be considered.
    • No evening meal Sunday or Monday night which was disappointing as I booked the hotel because they had the restaurant and it should say available only Tuesday to Saturday night.

View from our balcony of the river. Very friendly receptionist, she booked a boat trip for us.

The reception ladies were lovely and really helpful. One of the ladies Sunday booked a boat trip for us Monday afternoon

I booked the hotel knowing they had a restaurant so was not very happy when it got to 7.15 pm Sunday to find out the restaurant was not open that night or Monday night. It would be helpful if it was put on the hotel information so people would know in advance

Bed ok. Physically ok, nice deck.

They say there is a restaurant at the hotel, but they don't own it any more and we were unable to get lunch or diner there. There are no other restaurant open in this town and the closest city is at least 20km away. So, we ended out buying stuff in a grocery store to make sandwiches. Also, this is a city with a paper mill, so it smells bad. Avoid it if you can.

The staff at the hotel was super helpful and nice. The rooms are very big and spacious and the beds are comfortable. They have a vending machine where you can buy some drinks and snacks and a comfortable seating area in the lobby to hang out with friends. Swimming pool looked great as well, but it being November we didn't try it out!

Unfortunately as the hotel was fully booked the day before we arrived they had run out of some items for breakfast (croissants) we were really looking forward to that, but than again we were visiting off-season so that can happen.

    LOcation 10/10

Bar and Restaurant both closed. This is NOT what is expected of a 4 star hotel.

    9TonyPosted on: 9-25-2024

Stephanie was wonderful. Very helpful and conscientious.

The coffee maker in the room had no instructions and did not work properly. The hotel food at breakfast could have been better.

    5MariePosted on: 8-7-2024

Our room was spacious and had everything we needed. It was clean and had a good shower room. The bed was comfortable and we welcomed the a/c as the weather was very hot.

There were no pool towels available. The restaurant and bar was closed.Upon arrival I was asked for payment immediately without any welcome. The reception staff were unhelpful at best. Later in the evening we asked the receptionist to call us a taxi, she said we could have the number and call it ourselves. She wrote the number down and my husband made the call. As expected the taxi firm did not understand and cut the call. I then went back to the receptionist and asked again for her to call the taxi, which she reluctantly did so. Hotel paved areas covered in weeds all around the tennis courts and in rear car park where the electric car charging port is located. I have never known such poor customer service, I would never stay here again.

View from our room was stunning, overlooking the river, village and hills. The room was modern and very comfortable with a balcony. Everything we needed was present.

We had room 109 but I noticed that there was a small window within the shower in our bathroom. This overlooked the veranda of room 107 therefore privacy can be compromised. The restaurant lacked atmosphere although the food was excellent. A little background music perhaps.

Nice small hotel - clean, good pool, really friendly staff and easy car-park.

The hotel exceeded our expectations. The area is nice is beautiful. Big, spacious and clean room. Comfy beds. Beautiful pool area. New and modern facilities. Free parking! We stayed there for one night on our way to Spain but we would like to comeback for a longer stay!

Breakfast could have vegetables - tomatoes or cucumber.

Big and new hotel in a small city with beautiful views! The restaurant offers incredible meals!

The rooms and corridors didn’t have any decorations. Look like an hospital… The breakfast wasn’t good. You don’t have any choices and for a group of 4, if one eat bacon, the rest doesn’t. There was only two yogurt for our family…

Great spot in a scenic town. Friendly and helpful staff. Very modern and clean building compared to many other similar offerings in Portugal.

    9VelvetPosted on: 4-29-2024

It was clean and quiet. Over all it was a nice place.

The pool wasn’t available. The showers were not cleaned very well there was some black sludge due to the shower not being dried properly. Also because it is near a pulp mill it did not smell very good.

    9DonnaPosted on: 4-27-2024

    Lovely view from restaurant area.

Very basic selection of items at breakfast buffet. Coffee machine broke down on first morning. Best to arrive early in order to enjoy more items.

Reasonably priced accommodation, convenient overnight stop. Scenic drive through winding roads and forestry, there was a spectacular view of the River Tagus from our room. Spacious rooms, very clean.

The location was a bit smelly. This is not the fault of the hotel, the main industry of the town is a paper mill. Breakfast could have been better, there was a limited amount and we had to wait for more scrambled eggs.

Balcony with a wall as a view. Reception doesn't know how to use booking.com

Balcony with a 2 meter tall wall where I could only see above it. Staff asked 3 times for billing details when Booking already forwards that to them.

The location was great and the view from our bedroom window was lovely. It was the best bed we had slept in on our journey. The aesthetics were pleasing. The look of the dining room and seating areas were attractive. The EV charger was a bonus.

Where to start….. we had an evening meal, my husband’s risotto was alright but the salmon I had was overcooked the peas were like bullets. The functionality of the bedroom was sorely lacking. Considering that that there was a large conference room you would have thought that somewhere around the narrow desk that there would be some power sockets but none existed. There were no bedside cabinets just a shelve behind. The lighting was way too bright, especially the lamps high up at either side of the bed. Hard to read a book.Breakfast. As there were only 3 people staying we were asked to make choices which we did. Fruit, cereal, scrambled egg and rolls. First came the Scrambled eggs which were awful. Then the fruit which was fine. So we had our cereal last! I would hope that if it had been a buffet we could have helped our selves in the order we would prefer.
