- We had such a nice stay at Hotel Galini - the accommodation is simple but has everything you need. The balcony is large with beautiful view of the ocean, the room is exceptionally clean and we always had fresh linen and towels. Temperature is no problem with aircon or fan available. The best part of our stay were the hosts Effie and her Mum, they are extremely hardworking and such lovely people. We highly recommend staying here if you are in Poros.
- We were just passing through as flying into this island was easiest so we just needed a decent place to stay for 1 night, which this was. The balcony was nice, the AC worked great and it was overall comfortable.
- Exceptionally clean, beds made every day, loads of clean towels..Everything you need.
Cons -
- We had requested an earlier check in time due to our flight arriving early in the morning and it was approved on booking.com but when we arrived, we were met by an elderly lady who spoke no English so when we tried to explain we had earlier check in, she didn’t understand, kept saying no and just motioned for us to leave our bags and come back later. It’s not a problem to not speak English but when it is agreed that we can check in early, it is disappointing when that is not honored. No way of knowing when “later” was either. When we did come back, we were greeted by Effie who was very kind, spoke English and showed us immediately to our room. The rest of the stay was nice. No explanation for how check out worked and no one around in the morning when we tried to return the keys so we just left them in the door. Overall it was fine but the lack of available personnel made it difficult. However, it was a very cheap hotel just for one night so I guess you get what you pay for.
- Room was a bit small, needed a/c and fan on at night in sept.Bit tired looking...
- nothing .. wonderful experience ?

lovely place , wonderful hosts ( family run ) .. exceptional location .. a stone through from the beach .
nothing .. wonderful experience ?
I came back to Greece after 40, years hoping to find that something remains of the place and people that I'd grown to love. My wife and I found it here at this wonderful little hotel run by Effie and her mum Zoi. What it lacks in luxury it more than makes up for in charm and character. Our room was basic, but clean, comfortable had everything we needed including air conditioning and wi-fi, and a private terrace with a sea view. We hadn't booked breakfast in advance but decided to take it in. Every morning we enjoyed a simple Greek breakfast of coffee, bread, cheese and yoghurt with honey served by Zoi with laughter as we tried to understand each other in Greek and English. If you want a genuine Greek experience, this is the place for you!
We can't find a single negative thing to say about the hotel and already plan to visit again.
Amazing location, right by the beach in a very small and quite village. It’s not to touristy, but there are still enough tavernas and also bars in walking distance. The room itself was practical but had all whats needed (eg. airconditioning, fridge, kettle, storage). The highlight of the room was definitely the amazing terrasse with sea view. The host, Effi, is an angel. Not only did she clean the rooms everyday but she also made us feel at home. We had troubles getting a car for rent, so she fixed us up with options what to to and how to get around the island.

Incredibly clean apartment, simplistic with all you need. Wifi was excellent and so was the air conditioner. Effie was fantastic. Great location very close to bus stop, main centre, restaurants and port. Stone throw to the beach. Would highly recommend!
Very clean and nice room, easy access to the beach and restaurants and cafes. Super-friendly host and staff.
The place was great! They clean your room everyday and every other day they change the towels. The room and the shared kitchen has everything that's needed.. Beds are comfy, and the view from the balcony is beautiful, plus you can see the sunrise ☺️ I recommend going here.
Very, very clean!Every day we got a new fresh set of towels, sheets were changed every day as well. Our room had a sea view, it was wonderful!
Everything was phenomenal!
The location of place is great. Close to the sea, near local restaurants and shops. Beautiful balcony overlooking the sea with sun rise in the morning. The room was clean and looked after daily, communication with the host was good and felt welcome. While we had no kitchenette in the room, just the fridge and crockery, there is a comunal kitchen were we made coffee, which was perfect. Very pleasent place and would definitely return.
I loved the location ! It is PERFECT to watch the sunrise from the balcony! And only literally a short minute walk down to the beach right in front! So relaxing and beautiful pink flowers blooming! Super clean and tidy! I really enjoyed my stay and want to go back already!! I will miss this place and the family!
Everything was great!
The hostess is an amazing lovely woman, who warmly welcomed us in the middle of the night, as our flight was delayed and we were very late, we truly appreciate it! Also, the room was cleaned every day and bed sheets chaged too, we had a beautiful big terrace with the sea view. Air con was working perfectly and it saved us during the hot nights. It’s maybe not a fancy, but nonetheless a brilliant, family runned place to stay if you are in Poros. The beach is 2 mins walk, cafes and restaurants from 2 to 10 mins walk too. As we prefer staying further from touristic places, we were very satisfied with the location. We truly loved and enjoyed our stay!??
nothing!
It is basic, but I enjoyed a lot! Super location, nice host, very clean and convenient, huge terrace with umbrella and chairs and sea view!
I've already posted a review, as it was so good that I stayed for another week; so, I'll just say that Efy and her extremely hard-working mother made this stay more pleasant that I could ever have expected.Good sized room that couldn't get any cleaner. There was a private bathroom, and I enjoyed a large terrace, too. It's in a quiet area, and yet not too far from the livelier part of town, supermarkets; and the main square from where the bus drops you off from Argostoli (5-Euros) (700m to hotel) but above all of that, it's closest to the cleanest beach.
Nothing. It was all perfect. Especially for the price.
I liked everything. This family-run hotel couldn't be run any better.Everyone works so hard to help meet your requirements and expectations. You forget that this is only classed as a 1-star hotel, but that's only probably because of the lack of certain facilities, as it's far better than some of the 3 and 4-star hotels that I've stayed-in prior-to this trip. The location.Perfect.Just set-back, and only a road away from the coastal beach road, which ends when the beach does; so, there's not much traffic here anyway. A few minutes' walk and you're at the beach.Another 500-metres walk and there's the cheapest, newest and best supermarket.I only noticed this supermarket near the end of my trip, when the two others (in the old part of town) were closed; and I wished that I wasn't so blind, as it had more variety and cost less than the other two supermarkets.Hint: Look for the red sign by 'the bridge' to guide you.Transport.Just beyond 'the bridge' is also the main thoroughfare in and out of Poros. The bus travels through here from Argostoli. Cost 5 Euros. Airport to Argostoli was 2 Euros. May 2024.Hint: Look for a building that says "M.K. Buildings and you'll know you've reached the right part of Poros for Hotel Galini.Nothing else is too far away from here. The port is about the furthest that I walked; (as I'm partially-blind) where the ferry departs from; (Levante.gr) for onward travel beyond Poros. Poros is shielded all around by rocky hills where you can walk up-to heights of about 2000-feet. It's as if Poros has just had a road-width of rock removed to be-able-to build the town. It's 'all' close. It's a very clean hotel. Constantly clean. It's a well-cared-for hotel. Pruned, swept etc...I also had a comfortable new bed and 2 types of pillow.See what's listed to see if what's included satisfies your needs.
There's 'nothing' that I didn't like. Anything that I thought was missing that might help me was provided. The Savoy or the Dorchester would have struggled to find what I needed, and amazingly, Efy and the whole family achieved it. I was very happy with everything. This is far better than a one-star hotel; so, for the money that I paid, I am extremely happy. It was perfect.
This place is a gem. Effie looks after you extremely well. Old world Greece at its best! My room was cleaned every day with little added bonuses. The family cannot do enough for you I will not hesitate to come back . Excellent value for money.
Excellent value for money. Good facilities including fridge and TV. Small but adequate en suite. Huge terrace with sea view. I only met the owner as I was leaving but she was very nice and said I could have had a later check-out if I’d needed it.
Just to note, the terrace on the lower floor is only separated from the next room by a railing so it’s not very private. I had friendly neighbours so it wasn’t a problem.
Effi and her mother are absolute delights. Always available and looking to help us. We will miss them! The hotel is super clean, the breakfast is delicious, and we are literally 2 minutes away from the beach. The beach is fantastic and every morning the sunrise is right at our window.
Lovely little hotel, very clean, good location in Poros and brilliant hosts who are very welcoming and accommodating.
