Pros +
- They say it’s all about location and this property met that standard. Near all the main beaches and in proximity to other restaurants and supermarkets. It’s quiet, peaceful and safe enough to walk at night. They also provide access to the beach and beach chairs. The rooms are excellent. People are there to visit and explore and don’t stay in the room much. So anybody complaining about the room, please ignore it. The property is awesome and well kept and the staff is great. Do yourself a favor and rent a car, buy essentials in the supermarket (drinks etc) and purchase your own beach towels so you don’t have to pay for them at the hotel.
- The location and facilities were great. The apartment was a little tired but we only slept in it. Beds good. AC good. And lovely and quiet. The pool and The FOOD were incredible. I’m a skinny fella and I got chunky just eating salad and antipasto it really was my dream food, quality ingredients, lovely inclusive table wine. After the amazing food is the STAFF. The reception team were warm and efficient, the cleaning was spot on each day with fresh towels and Antonio and the bar team engaging and professional. But it was Franco and his Restaurant team that hit the jackpot….the waitresses were so friendly and smiley. Salvatore was our family favourite not a word of English but the kids and adults alike adored him. Also shout out to Patrick.
- Very disappointing experience. The hotel is old and poorly managed, and the photos online are misleading – they do not reflect the reality. We requested to stay close to the pool, but our apartment was placed far away and even outside the main hotel grounds. Despite booking an apartment, we were not allowed to use the kitchen – there were signs threatening fines if we did, so we couldn’t even make a tea.The entire property feels dated. Although we had already paid in advance for all meals and drinks, we were still charged extra for coffee and orange juice at breakfast, as well as drinks during lunch and dinner. When I questioned this, the receptionist became extremely aggressive and even threatened to call the police if I didn’t pay. This was disrespectful and unacceptable. The outdoor seating shown in photos is misleading as well – the tables with cushions are always “reserved,” but in reality no one uses them; they are just kept for show. The food is repetitive, average at best, with minimal variation day to day.Overall, the service was unfriendly, the atmosphere stressful, and the experience highly overpriced for the low quality offered. I would never return or recommend this place – stay away.
Cons -
- So the big down for me was the WiFi. There was none in the rooms and given most of us in the modern world work remotely, WiFi is essential. You have to be in the common area for internet. The breakfast was your traditional Italian breakfast. Nothing special but it’s ok. Not really a big deal. However, the dinner was a hit or miss for us. I would recommend updating the menu. The fish, seafood and steak were great. We were out and about during lunch hours so I can speak for the lunch hours. The pillows were rather flat. I recommend providing better pillows and or two per visitor. Folks like me with neck problems need to be comfortable. I don’t recommend buying the house drinks or anything because if you’re a foreigner like me, you will acquire a CITY TAX PER PURCHASE, per day. Example 2 adult drinks and 2 KID drinks cost me 43 euros PLUS the CITY TAX per purchase of 35 euros. Not worth it.
- The shower felt a bit tired but I saw other rooms and they were mint. It was hot powerful and wet… so no complaints.
- Very disappointing stay. The hotel is old, nothing like the photos online, and our apartment was far from the pool and outside the hotel grounds. Despite booking an apartment, we weren’t allowed to use the kitchen. Even though meals and drinks were prepaid, we were charged again and treated aggressively by staff. Food was repetitive and average, service disrespectful, and overall overpriced. Stay away!

The cleanliness
The food, distance from beach, the hours open for breakfast lunch and dinner
We were very pleased with our stay at Baia Del Porto. This is a quiet, cozy hotel with many bungalows and an exceptional restaurant. We stayed for 10 days and never met the same meal twice. The staff were polite and helpful. As we arrived much earlier before the check-in time, we were allowed to use all the facilities, bar, pool, etc., and had had lunch even before we checked-in. A decent beach is nearby with hotel's private umbrellas available.
A few points are worth mentioning: We expected more variety and engaging entertainment at the hotel. Every day, a musician played the same songs, which became quite boring, so we had to find our own evening entertainment. There is no Wifi outside the main building. Staying in a bungalow, no wifi network is reachable. Not really a negative point, but a tip for travelers: it's worth renting a car, or reach somehow nearby beaches. 10 minutes by car to the south - there is a not populated Budoni beach with water of perfect cleanness. 20 min by car to the north - there is a perfect-white-sandy La Cinta beach, thought it overpopulated in the first part of the day.
Everything was perfect, spacious and clean rooms, amenities and service. Staff were very professional and polite, ready to help and serve any minute. Food was perfect served in a very professional manner. Variety of food was served, together with local tasty wine. The hotel, the space outdoors, and indoors, everything is beautifully decorated and organized. Beautiful beach not that far away, approximately 300 meters away, which makes this hotel complementary. Would recommend staying to everyone.
The only small “-“ to be mentioned, internet service not the best inside the rooms but very good outside and around the property.
Great location , happy with hotel very clean and staff very friendly would stay again.
No wifi in room, mattress in bed not very good if you suffer from a bad back as I did .
Amazing location near Budoni. Very relaxed property with good pool and facilities. Cleaning staff is outstanding - they keep the place in exception condition.
A few people on the mgt team are a little rude towards English speakers. Simple asks such as a few extra towels and towels for the pool and what time is breakfast seem to be met with a scowl and often even questions such as ‘why do you need that’. A bit off putting and not representative of most of the staff.
Good hotel, with a good breakfast and dinner.
The reception of a letter informing that the account must be closed in the day before we left. It would make sense at checkout on the delivery of the keys.
Overall the location is great. Even though it was not beachfront as they say. (It's about a 10min walk). The Ottiolu beach is amazing with very clear water and even though the beach was not private, they had sunbeds just for the guests, for free from the second row back, which given the normal 70-80€ price for a sunbed at other beaches turned out to be great. Its location makes it also very close to other amazing beaches nearby, such as La Cinta, Brandinchi, the Costa Baunei, and the beaches near Porto Cervo. It's also very close to towns like San Teodoro, Budoni, Ottiolu Port, and Porto Cervo. The meals were all very nice, the food was always great and had a lot of variety. The entertainment team was also great, from the beach activities to the night activities. Special shoutout to Mario (Brian). The price of the stay was considerably lower than other resorts in the area.
The "village" vibe of the resort was great, but since our room was really far from the boiler, our water took a lot of time to heat. They told us to wait 15/20min and of course, we weren't going to waste 20min of running water just to wait for it to get hot. Also, the fact that it is not really beachfront.
Pleasantly surprised by the room size and the private veranda. The grounds are very beautiful, well maintained and it’s a very peaceful place to stay. The pool area was also superb, it was spacious, stylish and comfortable. Great location within easy walk to the port and the restaurants. Staff were helpful and friendly.
The breakfast options were fairly limited and no variety across the length of our 10 night stay. It was also a little disappointing to be charged a daily rate for use of the safe which was already in place in the room - that felt unnecessary to charge extra for.
the gardens the staff except the reception and the manager
terrible buffet dinner ( a 4 star hotel !!!)very hard bedno WiFi in the room toilet in reception area “RESERVED FOR STAFF”tried to charge me for use of leisure facilities ( including hotel sunloungers on beach which not signposted and about which we were not told) and for which I had paid through Booking. comtook a day to get the in room safe unlocked for my use and for which I had to pay 1 euro a day
Amazing all round, in particular Julia went above and beyond for us x
