Pros +
- The husband in the welcoming, likeable couple who own this hotel is an extremely talented chef, and the dinner we had was fabulous, with several dishes not mentioned in the menu. Everything was well-conceived, perfectly cooked, pleasingly plated.
- Too expensive for what it offered. Hotel very cold in dining room and bedroom also very tired building. However furniture was nice in the lounge and restaurant. Parking could be a problem in busy season.
- Centrally located in Sées. Proprietor was kind enough to switch us to a room with a more comfortable bed.
Cons -
- A little dated, but appropriate for the location. I wish the shower doors were arranged do they didn’t leak water on the floor when running.
- Just right for us
- Room was small and cramped , the electrical outlets Was to say the least unsafe .The room was up the stairs at the end of a dingy looking corridor with very dim lighting .The bathroom was very outdated but relatively clean I suppose .

Traditional and personal service of gourmet dinner and breakfast. Great town for cathedral and crafts.
Just right for us
The facade at the front of the property , gave a French period look (which was nice)Bed was comfortable for a one night’s stay .

Fantastic evening meal and breakfast. Friendly host.
Bedroom was rather small and cluttered.
We have been before and are happy to use the hotel again; perhaps slightly old fashioned but really nice suite and the food was excellent. Breakfast really good with fresh bakery - delicious!
Convenient stopover between port and holiday destination in a pretty town
Felt A little tired with a price that didn’t match.
Classic architecture; time-warp experience; flowery window boxes; easy walk from cathedral; plethora of home made jams and preserves at breakfast. Easy on-street parking.
Some would find the twisty staircase tricky. Would have liked fresh bread for breakfast to go with the wonderful jams.
we loved this place and the effort made by the owners to make us feel comfortable.Period property that has been modernised inside. The owners make a fantastic effort to look after you eg bottles of water, snacks, tea and coffee in room etc. Dinner was gourmet, and breakfast offered us their skills at homemade products - 15 jams, 6 compotes etc. Never seen such a spread! The bed was large and we had a great night's sleep. Good bathroom and shower. The property is in a quiet sidestreet with onstreet parking.
nothing to say
Beautiful old building in central location in Sees. Really a restaurant with rooms. Food is absolutely top notch and the owners are a very welcoming couple. It’s lovely to find that excellent family run small hotels are surviving amidst the many chain alternatives
The decor is a bit dated now, although the essentials are all good
Age and atmosphere and usable parking out. Very good cafe across road
Needed a lot of tlc and decorating. No teaspoons , tv batteries corroded , curtains didn’t close sufficiently, breakfast very poor. No fresh bread or croissants jams etc taste very old.
The hotel is in a quiet, but central part of town.Street parking available near byThe rooms are modest, but clean and comfortable. Staff are pleasant. The on site restaurant serves good, imaginative food, although it is a little pricey.
Easy to find with easy parking close by
Two flights of narrow, winding stairs to our second floor room. The WiFi is spasmodic at best with a weak signal. The bathroom is huge although not good for tall guests with its low beam over the toilet and shower which made life a bit tricky. Breakfast is chosen from cold cabinets with most items wrapped in cling film, an unusual choice of buffet service.
I only arrived in Sées by chance on a cycling tour and this was a great place to stay. The town is charming and historic. The hotel itself was pretty and the breakfast very nice: local produce and a selection of about 20 different homemade jams. The owner was very helpful, and even caught me as I was going out in the evening to give me a walking guide to the town. I’m glad I did that: there were information boards in French and English and it made a very pleasant way to explore.
The room itself was a bit dated but still very nice and I had everything I needed.
Easy to find and lovely room
Reception unclear
We upgraded to a larger room which was lovely and looked over a quiet little square. The owners were very friendly. The evening meal was exceptionally good, as was the breakfast.
Central location and a v good dinner and free car parking by hotel
Excellent breakfast Quiet convenient location
This hotel is a very pleasant surprise. From the outside the property looks a little worn and we were concerned when we first pulled up. However forget the first impression, it was a wonderful experience. The proprietors are exceptionally helpful and welcoming. The rooms are comfortable and clean. We had family dinner and the Chef catered for our age group from 4 years to 50+. The food was excellent! Fresh, locally sourced seasonal produce in a series of yummy of dishes. We have been inspired to try some of the recipes at home. It was a very special experience for us all.
