Gasthaus Sonne

Hotel Sonne was a gorgeous place to stay: spacious, clean and so lovely. Hope to come back!

No staff on site, the entrance round the back was covered in dirt and wood shavings. Badly signed to get into the hotel, lights didn't work outside our room so we couldn't see the numbers on the key box.There was a kettle but it would not fit under the tap. We had one dirty cup and one teabag.I was however well located and averagely priced.The bathroom was dirty and run down.There was no WLAN/WiFi password in the room. we tried phoning the number they gave us but there was no answer.They did respond to the message via booking.com.

Nice location, great old style building. Accommodation was good.

I reserved a specific room and did not get it until I requested a room change. This is not okay because I had made a clear request for a two bed room.

Very convenient in center of Schliengen, with its own parking. Access possible anytime.Clean and quite confortable with the style of an old house! Friendly staff. Simple but nice place. The restaurant is good too

Good Italian good in the restaurant, reserve a tiramisu upfront. Room was spacious and easy. Could have been a bit cleaner in the bathroom. All in all great value for money.Bakery across the street.

Avoid, avoid, avoid

Incredibly rude staff WiFi does not work in the room; I was advised it works in the corridor!Stayed for 2 nights - room was not cleaned and no clean towels - when asked for clean towels, staff advised none were available and “I am not the owner… speak to the owner (who was absent)”Shower tray overflows, as the waste is clearly blocked and not cleanedSliding shower door is broken and does not close properlyTowels are old and very hard due to over launderingMattresses are cheap foam; not proper mattresses Heating was turned off, so room was cold in the morningWater was lukewarm… gave up asking rude staff to turn on heating for hot water

The hotel is well located, close to bakeries and restaurants. The room is spacious and comfortable.I would also mention the Italian restaurant of this Gasthouse, amazing food for an affordable price.

After arriving from a long day travelling by bicycles, we did not have hot water for the shower...

The food is great the rooms are quirky and comfortable.

I liked everything . This isn’t a complaint but there is no Wi-Fi and it does advertise that there is. I wasn’t able to buy a beer from the restaurant and take it to my room..strange.

Lovely, traditional German hotel. Only complaint was that wifi was non existent in our room.
