    Pros +

    • While it does not feature the most modern design elements today, it remains a comfortable and convenient choice. The rooms are spacious, breakfast is satisfying, and there is a shuttle service available to the slopes, making it a practical option for those looking for reliable accommodations rather than cutting-edge modernity.
    • Breakfast was great The views from the hotel were beautiful. Formigal is a small place, so you could walk to restaurants. There are quit a lot of choices for such a small place. The hotel had a nice lobby bar, lounge, and game room. It was very convenient to rent skis in the lobby, and the price was competitive. The indoor pool was popular on a day when it rained. The internet was good enough to support working online during our stay.
    • Location and views are fantastic. Rooms are large and comfortable. Good breakfast

    Cons -

    • Although friendly, service was extremely slow at both check in and cafeteria. Breakfast service was good.
    • The dinner at the hotel was limited while we were there. Be ready for a long, steep walk back from restaurants- definitely doable, but not for mobility impaired. There was nothing to do in town for non-skiers. Even the spa at the hotel was closed until the skiers returned from the slopes at 4:30, which made for a boring day if you did not ski. The fitness room/gym had limited equipment: a treadmill, a stationary bike, 2 ellipticals, and a few hand weights. The ellipticals and bike need to be replaced.
    • Can be a bit noisy from the restaurant. Limited service.Outdoor swimming pool pictures on booking is not onsite but in the village (you get free access against a deposit still)

This is a 2-star hotel with the price and the envelope of a 4-star

Door keys wouldn’t work. We had to change them 6 times. Lack of personnel. Breakfast was mayhem. Spa is supper wetty and dirty owing to lack of maintenance…check in and check out took for ever owing to lack of employees

    Terrible value for money

No explanation at checkin, we just got a roomkey as the receptionist was on the phone. No friendly staff in general (with the exception of the slightly older gentleman at reception in the morning we checked out with) and they are slow in everything (expect waiting everywhere). Got yelled away with “closed” at the pool while I was just reading about the opening hours. When I came back at the correct hour to go swim I got send away because something was broken and had to be fixed so the pool opened 1,5 hour later with already very limited opening hours for the indoor pool (17:30 instead of 16:00 till 21:00) and the exterior pool they advertise with does exist! It is a communitypool in the center of the town 20 minutes walking that you get access to. When I returned for a third time at the indoorpool it was packed with people so in the end we did not go. Another thing we thought was ridiculous is that they make it mandatory for you to wear a swimming hat and flipflops. If you don’t have them you can buy them. We understand this from a hygienic point of view, but to charge your guests for this (as they have no other choice if they want to swim) is just weird. The room temperature was way too hot so we all slept bad and had no climate control to make it less hot. Breakfast was a disgrace. They couldn’t keep up with the number of guests so everything was empty and what there still was, was cold. Parking is also a problem, as there where no parking places available and we had to park somewhere else. The decor of the hotel is not our taste, but you can also see it is in need of an update. We stay a lot at 4 and 5 star hotels, but this hotel all in all is the worst we ever stayed at. Nothing real bad, but it is just not up to standard at all. It is not worth the four star and the value for money is terrible.

Located in formigal close to the ski lifts and very nice breakfast

Great location, great views & spacious rooms.

Staff was very friendly, but clearly not instructed very well. Sometimes made it feel like Fawlty Towers, again: management to blame, not the staff.

    9RebeccaPosted on: 9-1-2023

The hotel is lovely and room was very clean. The price was very reasonable for a family of four and the facilities were good. The area is stunning and tranquil and the location is close of restraunts and other local towns. The staff are friendly and always have a smile on their face.

I found that the food cooked seemed to be not fully cooked ie the salmon and pork was still undercooked in the middle but that may just be me being fussy.Overall I would stay here again

View from halls, lobby and porch

Limited spa opening hours, which were not clearly stated on website

Great base to explore a very unique part of the pyranees. Hotel was exceptionally clean and the reception staff extremely helpful. Cooked breakfast was good. Great views of the near by peaks from the hotel.

    All good

Breakfast good. Room good although mattresses needed replacement. In fact after the second day they were.

    Nothing …

    Staff are fantastic. Lovely views.

Regrettably the food has declined dramatically. Extremely poor. Rectifiable though.

Restaurant was fantastic, views were breath taking, rooms were very good.

Big bedrooms, very clean, very friendly staff, good buffet for breakfast

The SPA is actually an aquatic park with kids screaming and splashing non-stop. No staff to keep things under control.

Breakfast was great. The hotel’s highlight. Location was also great.

You heard everything that was going on in the nearby rooms. Phone conversations, tv when it was on. Really annoying. Although they state there is free wi fi, i tonly works in the lobby, not in the rooms.

bus to ski slopes, comfortable rooms, good parking

Friendly staff, great location, clean and comfy.

    Food is literally awful!

    5CarmenPosted on: 12-7-2021

The breakfast is wonderful, plenty of food and huge variety of it

The location of the hotel and the service of transport Guest depend on the vans and the quantity and frequency were very poor. We lost many time to get the ski station. Also, the indoor pool and gym areas are very simple.
