About

Surrounded by the mountains of the Spanish Pyrenees, this traditional hotel is conveniently located between the ski resorts of Formigal and Panticosa – ideal for those looking for outdoor excitement. Founded in 1928, the Mariana provides characteristic, warm mountain hospitality in these stunning surroundings. On-site facilities feature the hotel restaurant, where you can enjoy a hearty meal of rich Pyrenean dishes. More modern amenities include Wi-Fi internet, which covers the bright, airy rooms and comfortable lounges with mountain views. Use the Mariana as a base to go skiing in the nearby resorts. You can also head to the new local resort of La Partacua to enjoy some cross-country skiing or hike through the nearby Betato forest. The local village of Tramacastilla is also worth visiting for its well-preserved, narrow, historic streets.

    Pros +

    • The views, location close to slopes and staff
    • Peaceful location with great viewHelpful, friendly staff
    • Stunning location although the access roads are challenging, but what do you expect from an ancient town! The owner is super friendly and welcoming, nothing too much trouble.

    Cons -

    • Room in the top floor had low ceilings we couldn’t stand up in the shower or bathroom. Old, uncomfortable and noisy mattresses. Thin walls we could hear the neighbours talking and walking on the stairs. No double bed available despite request. Hotel needs a renov. No dinner available.

    • Only thing that was hit and miss was the WiFi, but you are high up in the Pyrenees!

Cozy and family run hotel just a 10 min drive from Formigal ski station. The host was very pleasant and helpful. Great breakfast!

The walls were thin so you could hear all the neighbours at night.

The hotel was well-located as it was close to the ski resort. We had our own car, so it was the perfect distance for us. The hotel is situated in a small mountain village, which is very scenic. It also has a restaurant and is well-designed with amazing views of the mountains from both the restaurant and our hotel room. The hotel was a very good alternative to the more expensive apartments and other hotels around.

The allocation of shower gel and soap needed to be improved. We ended up buying our own from a super market as the small packets provided were not enough.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Food very tasty and reasonably priced. Comfortable hotel with amazing views.

Such a beautiful village with stunning mountain views.View from room was amazing.Good welcome where everything was explained clearly.

Our double room was small and extremely basic with very poor facilities. The bath must be the smallest ever, definitely in need of an upgrade. This room is not good value in my opinion.

Wonderful family hotel set in beautiful countryside with wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. excellent host. Small room but comfortable with everything we needed. The town clock doesn’t go all night which made for a very good nights sleep.

    Nothing. excellent for the price.

The views, you can't go past them! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was exceptional, went out of their way to accommodate my gluten intolerance.

The room was on the old side, definitely could use a refresh. Little details like the door is hard to lock and the bathroom is tired.

Manager was very welcoming and helpful. Food in evening was very good. Location was very good and very scenic. The value for money was excellent.

Room was a little basic (no air con), quite small if you have lots of luggage and the bathroom a little dated. However, most of this is reflected in the price.

Very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast. Great food - can eat early in the bar or later in the restaurant. Stunning views! Stored our bikes for us.

Room a bit small with twin beds.

Very friendly and helpful staff.Great location, with splendid views of the village and the mountains. The room was compact, but well equipped and very well kept.Dinner and breakfast were excellent- straightforward, well cooked and presented. The bar was comfortable and well stocked. Check in and out were pain-free thanks to staff with good English and an even better attitude.Parking outside the hotel was fine and free.

    Nothing to dislike.

Beautiful views. Good location in a small village on the mountain side close to the main road from the pass from France into Spain. Very friendly staff and good food. Excellent wi-fi.

The rooms are a bit small.

Staff was very accommodating. Rooms were clean. Meals were excellent. Tramacastilla de Tena is an idyllic little town.

Rooms were a tad small for 2 people with luggage. One could quite clearly hear people in adjacent rooms. And anytime someone turned on water or flushed a toilet, it could be heard. There weren't a lot of AC plugs for recharging.

    7MatePosted on: 8-29-2021

The food and the location are excellent.

The rooms are quite small and put together fairly poorly.

    7LauraPosted on: 5-31-2021

Views and location are stunning. Friendly staff and great quality breakfast and dinners.

The walls between rooms are very thin, difficult to sleep well due to noise.

The fantastic hospitality! The cute bar adjacent to the hotel; the view from my room
