Motel Cancun Avilés

We enjoyed a pleasant evening walk in the beautiful surroundings, and it was a short 5 min. drive to the beach, and 25 min. drive to the international airport. The beds are quite comfortable, and it was nice to take a bath in the room following our visit to the beach.

The extra bed provided to my son was a bit uncomfortable, but the orignal beds are big and comfortable.

Comfortable bed, decent shower, very friendly reception. Interesting concept - great if you like your privacy and your car secure.

Room smelled a bit strange - dogs? - and in a rather remote spot. A bit of a scary drive late at night as a solo female traveller. Nowhere to go for food without a drive.

Nice concept with own garage and room service through a swing door in the room. Large and comfortable room/bathroom.( tub, not shower). Room service food at very low cost. good pizza.

Small garage. not suitable for a SUV. Not possible to lock the room/garage from outside, without calling reception.

New concept for me. No keys just say your number (10 for us) into intercom to raise the barrier and drive to your garage/room. The garage is closed from the inside and is part of the room IE straight from the garage into your room via a door. Like the fact that your car and luggage are with you all the time. The room is beautiful and the bathroom.large and well appointed. No issues at all with the quality. To leave you drive around the one way system and say your number into the intercom at the exit barrier.

Not confident on the security once out of the room. Location is remote from "anything" . Roads are very narrow. WiFi was very weak as Ookla tests showed less than 1 meg download (room 10), no coffee/tea making facilities. I know it's a "motel" but being so isolated some form of catering option would be nice.

Parking is not an issue as every room has its own closed garage.

Upon arrival you are impressed by the fact that every room has its own closed garage box. But what is the advantage of this? The car could have stayed outside and instead we would have appreciated having airconditioning in the room. Now the room was very warm. Given the rates we feel airco should have been installed. Also all rooms are on the ground-floor so we did not feel confortable leaving the window open during the night to cool off the room somewhat. Concerning the breakfast they create a dangerous precedent: upon reservation on Booking.com it states: breakfast is included. Upon arrival they inform you that the included breakfast is very basic and if you want a somewhat more complete breakfast please pay extra. Only one restaurant in the area between the cabo and the hotel and there service is absolutely not friendly.

We like these motels with parking garage as part off the room. just a perfect Motel Formula.

I liked privacy and very convenient entrance through garage. The room was well maintained and clean. Personal very kind and helpful.

no Air Condition, very hot at night, lots of masquitos(!!!), no frige or ANYTHING in the room except for beds and old 14 inch TV, staff does not speak english

Good linnen, clean room.

It is a weird hotel, the location is just after all the industry in the fields close to a beach. Still 40 minutes walk if you like to leave your car at the hotel. There is no atmosphere at all. Reception is big and empty, no cosy or nice areas to chill or sit. Not sure what the purpose is of this hotel? Happy that I stayed only 1 night. The is no sitting area close to your room, a lot of concrete and that's it. For me the rate of 90 euros is a lot for what you get.

Room was clean and spacious, allowed dogs, and it was convenient to have the garage parking for our car.

The mattress wasn't very comfortable. It was somewhat hard and non-conforming.

Very nice concept! The room was very clean, decent breakfast (considering the price paid). Recommended place if you seek for some silence and intimacy!

Very nice concept of hotel. Cosy room with big bathroom. Silent, clean. Garage solution is excellent. Lovely and very helpful personal. Fully recommendable.

Nothing to complaint about.

It was nice to have a place to park our car because it was loaded.

The mattress was too soft and sank in the middle and the worst was the air circulation: there was none. It was suffocating. There was no air conditioning or even a fan; we asked for it but they didn't have. The only option was to open the window and let mosquitos feast with us, besides the barking dogs around from the area. I didn't sleep a wink

Wonderful for an overnight stay clean, spacious and quiet! Delicious generous breakfast and very friendly staff.

We were placed in the reception building. from our bedroom we could hear all night the staff chatting, cleaning dishes and the door bell of every costume arriving. then early in the morning breakfast was served right outside our door starting in the early hours of the morning making almost impossible to have quite night and a pleasant morning

It's a motel where you have your own garage. Very unusual, but also very handy. Right near Avilès, but in a bucolic setting.

No views, not very good ventilation although I found aircon and fans rare in Asturias.

Only spanish speaking welcome, no refridgerator, no trash basket, no key. Too basic breakfast.

You should use car to go anywhere

Room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. Staff were generally helpful and friendly. Garage parking a bonus - very secure.

Access to each property was only possible through the garage door which was controlled centrally by reception. This somewhat unusual arrangement could, at times, be inconvenient particularly when other guests were being attended to by the staff. Why are guests not given access keys to their individual properties?Whilst the staff were very friendly communication, at times, was difficult due to the language barrier (even regular requests for garage access could be challenging!). The only access road to / from the hotel (located in the countryside, 7 km from town) was scheduled to be closed at 07:00hrs on the day of our departure to accommodate an international duathlon championship event taking place in the area; had we not been aware of this race, and enquired about potential road closures, we would have been stuck... and potentially missed our flight. This was clearly a one-off scenario but an effort to communicate should have been made.
