hostal Decerca Prádena

Located in a village in the foothills of the Sierra de Guadarrama, right off N-110 (but not within reach of the noise), this older mountain inn offers affordable rooms which are also a little older, but well kept, clean and comfortable. Free parking is available behind the building, the access from the main road is about 30 m away from the building itself. The absolute highlight was the opulent buffet breakfast with plenty of choices - including, but not limited to local fare such as cured ham, pancetta, dry sausages and the like, eggs, fresh orange juice, pastries... et cetera. Considering the very affordable price, the stay exceeded my expectations. Caution: There is no receptionist. An automatic check-in machine is outside the front door. The process is pretty straightforward. No elevator, you'll have to haul your luggage up the stairs.

Considering the price there's nothing to dislike in my opinion.

Loved the view from our room. Great value for money.

The bathroom had no plugs in the sink or the bath. The breakfast was slow and disorganised and wasn't available till 09.00am. Trying to work the self checking was not the best, but after making phone calls we were able to sort out.

Can't say- didn't get to stay there.

We booked this to break our car journey. Our ferry was cancelled and we contacted the hostal immediately to change dates. We heard nothing back. We asked for some of our money back. Still waiting for an answer

It was just perfect for us as a stop over. As we arrived late, we did our check in in the box provided. Everything was provided in the room. Although we had to leave early to catch the ferry and therefore couldn't take advantage of the buffet breakfast at 9am, it was a nice village to stay at with parking behind the premises.

Maybe the late breakfast but not really a dislike

The room has everything you need. The bed's mattress is excellent. The lady at breakfast is really friendly and helpful.Quite and beautiful village with nice place to eat.

The check-in system is a nightmare. It is unwelcoming, irritating, and also doesn't allow us to ask questions about the area, restaurant, parking ..... a real shame as the locals are so friendly.For breakfast, the food quality is poor.

Good value, automatic self check-in, clean. Free parking to rear, 2 minutes from the property. Luckily some kind Spanish people waiting outside helped me negotiate entry system and location of parking!

Room and bathroom rather small, no wardrobe or clothes hanging rail. No staff visible and the inside of the building quite gloomy. Communal parts a bit noisy at times, as it seemed popular with Spanish families and children, but that's fine.

Location was great. Breakfast was good. Room was lovely.

Automatic check in was annoying as needed ID for all parties. No common space to eat our picnic lunch as dining room was locked

I answered the questions based on our stay elsewhere. When we arrived at the Hostal it was closed. We were told by phone that we must go 5kms further to Hostal De Cerca. We had no prior information. De Cerca treated us well and we had excellent facilities
