Pros +
- Great location. Beautiful building. Excellent food
- I have stayed here multiple times and love this old building. This time I had a room in the new annex & it was comfortable too although not the charm of the old building. The square the hotel faces is nice but we’ve been disappointed in the options for food in the square and the surrounding area. The hotel restaurant is fine but one does not always want to eat there.
- Having a room in the old part of the hotel was great. Nice restaurant and good breakfast
Cons -
- Nothing ?
- Would like to see more restaurant options.
- A little off the beaten track for an overnight on a trip to Portugal

Having a room in the old part of the hotel was great. Nice restaurant and good breakfast
A little off the beaten track for an overnight on a trip to Portugal
Staff efficient
They needed to change us to another room because our the bathroom had hair and the toilet was dirty
Simply a beautiful and uber comfortable hotel. Spacious rooms, luxory beddng, great showers, pristine clean. Excellent food, fairly peiced. Good gym. Amazing helpful and friendly staff. Peaceful location. We just used it for one night stop over on our journey through Spain and will make it a definite stop on our way back. So
An added bonus would be to have tea /coffee making facilities in the room.
Very dGood
The evening meal being rushed and one meal reheated fish and was substandard.
Very spacious room with a nice balcony. The palace is very old and interesting. It is in the middle of the village which is very convinient. The diner very tasty.
Everything was fine
We stayed overnight while riding through Spain on our motorbike.Predominantly set in an old palace, with modern additions, gave the hotel an excellent setting an atmosphere. Our room was modern, clean and comfortable, with a small balcony overlooking the gardens. The staff were friendly and engaging, helping our limited Spanish where necessary.Dinner was very good, as was our breakfast.Well worth the extra 30 minutes ride from the autovia for such a pleasant stay.
Characterful historic building with very comfortable modern bedrooms. Very helpful staff & good value stopover In charming old town. Secure carpark & would certainly stay again.
Comfortable bed and temperature in the room
High on design values but low on hospitality and comfort. Very corporate but bar and restaurant empty and in a very strange location as the town was dead too.
Room, breakfast and restaurant are good as expected
Everything was good
Lovely beautiful hotel.Room gr8.Restaurant food fabulous. Beautiful village.
No coffee or hot drinks in the morning unless you are prepared to pay €12 for breakfast.Pool not open until 11am so no swim before we left.
The building its self.Dog friendly.Restaurant meal in the evening very good.
Breakfast a little disappointing as previously buffet breakfast.
The room was great. Comfy bed. The location is good for dog walks (just get a map, 5 mins away are great walks).
The bar/restaurant staff were very young, not a problem, but they didn't know the difference between red wine & white and said I need permission from reception to take a bottle of wine to my room...
This is a converted palace. The room I had was quirky with a small outside seating area behind a grill. The dinner fixed menu we felt was excellent value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The town is amazing. No idea how old it is, but the main square alone is worth the visit.
The location and the pricing
The food was average but half board very good value
Beautiful surroundings, exceptionally clean room. The lady tending to the bar the night of our stay spoke little English , but she ensured she found a staff member to communicate with us, she was polite and happy and made us feel so welcome . The staff team went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and make our stay so pleasurable. The food was delicious and we ate in the garden of the hotel with beautiful surroundings
There was nothing I did not like about this property. Such a beautiful place to stay
The room was comfortable, dinner in the restaurant was excellent and all of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Ideal for drop-off if travelling through Spain but would be equally good as a base for a longer stay.
All good.
Went with Half Board as quite a remote hotel - dinner was excellent.
Breakfast used to be buffet style which was great - this time you could just order from a menu - not so easy.
Friendly staff, food ok, location excellent
More comfortable lounge / bar area
