Pros +
- Good manor stay not too far from Paimpolthe room is nice and confotable, well equiped as wellThe bathroom was clean and in good condition
- The staff were very friendly and accommodating.Reception staff went above board to help source anniversary surprise. The food was excellent.
- The hotel sits on a magnificent property, fronting a golf course (I can't stand golf, for the usually insufferable golfers) surrounded by a gorgeous forest. The nightskies are magnificent, particularly after the hotel's external spotlights have been turned off. The silence is then almost complete, bar the occasional car in the distant highway. The hotel isn't frequented by the golfers, who have their own clubhouse (thank goodness). The hotel's great other plus is the restaurant. The food is excellent and creative. The Chef, Matthieu Kergoulay, and his staff are all delightful. They know their stuff, food and wine. They kindly prepared seafood I had procured at Pors Even, at no cost to me, and presented it as I wished, accompanied by an excellent Sancerre recommended by the Somellier. The hotel is comfortable and clean. It represents typical French culture: accommodation in support of excellent food, wine, and solid bar and a beautiful environment. Don't expect a 4-star hotel service, but a 3-star hotel service with a 4.5-star food and wine service. That works for me.
Cons -
- Breakfast too expensive and need to be order in advance (not ideal)
- Would prefer not to pre-order breakfast and preserves looked not unique enough for a chateau. The toilet cubicle was rather small for the taller guest.
- Three suggestions:1) To make the reception area more welcoming, particularly the reception's backcounter area, which is too much like an office and takes away some of the magic of arriving at a hotel.2) The corridors to the bedroom receive the smell of cooking in the kitchen below. I kept opening the corridor's window to air it. I would recommend an air extractor.3) The bathroom would benefit from better attention, and more towels of better quality.

The hotel was comfortable, spotlessly clean and very welcoming. Situated in beautiful surroundings, it was very peaceful.
Scenery, beautiful house, magnificent breakfast. Wonderful service. Beautiful furniture, atmosphere. Gorgeous bedrooms.
Since restaurant was closed when we were there ( Wednesday), we could not have access to any part of the hotel inside ( bar) in the evening. But I understand that it cannot be open 7 days a week….
Beautiful hotel overlooking golf course and lake. Friendly helpful staff, amazing food
Set in a wooded park in the middle of a well-groomed golf course with gorgeous views. Very quiet.Very tasteful modernisation with superb fit-out.
Highly regarded restaurant but do check opening days when booking hotel room, as it's quite a drive to get a meal when the restaurant is closed.
A wonderful find. Friendly service, the room was large and comfortable with beautiful views of the golf course. Breakfast was delicious and dinner at the hotel restaurant was exceptional. We would definitely go back.
I loved the location and the overall look and feel of the castle. It made me feel so special and that I had traveled back in time to a moment where things were just simple and beautiful. The food was extraordinary. It was truly the best lamb I ever ate, and the chef was a true gem.Eat breakfast early to see all the different birds flying around in the golf field. It's a must.
Love the location. Just right for a touring holiday of northern France. Hotel and grounds were beautiful. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. A good size room with just the right facilities. Hotel and room decor was beautiful and well presented.
Didn't have evening meal as the kitchen was closed that evening. So opted for a picnic in the grounds. Left early before breakfast. Milk for coffee in the room would have been useful - so black coffee it was.
beautiful location.comfortable roomgreat foodreasonable prices
would have larger room next time
Size of the room and cleaness. Green view from the windows.
Wifi too weak or not usable at all. It is disappointing to still see that such property features can be negatively balanced by a nowadays cheap investment.
Beautiful, quiet, green, place with gastronomic restaurant, gold fields and forests all around, perfect position to discover the region and come back to little green haven after the busy day
A castle with a magnificent view. A good breakfast.
Their restaurant was closed. We were not well informed. No other resto in the neighboorhood. Very very bad wifi. Almost no 4G.
Everything! Beautiful hotel! Nice restaurant!
Room is a bit small
Great place to stay for a night with the added bonus of the golf
Food.
