Brit Hotel La Rochelle Périgny

First class people working there. The air conditioner(ac) was fantastic. The hotel looks a little older from the outside, but the interior and rooms are nicely done. Bed was firm but comfortable. Water in the shower was hot, parking was plentiful and the tram station is near by. Access to the beach was five minutes.

The AC controls fell off the wall. The breakfast-eggs and bacon was cold, not hot? Not sure if that is a cultural thing, but the breads, fruits and cold breakfast was good.

It’s location, right next to the autoroute, makes it the perfect place for a quick overnight stay while driving long distance.

There was nowhere to buy anything to eat or drink. A vending machine would help.

Cold scrambled eggs for breakfast

Clean, very efficient, convenient for La Rochelle exactly what we needed. Booked via the Booking.com app at 15.00 hrs, checked in at 18.30, took no more than 5 minutes, very nice and efficient staff. So convenient.

Not a lot!

The room was small but clean. Beds comfortable & bathroom more than adequate. Female staff member in duty in the early evening of 15 July was helpful and pleasant. Taxi ordered for us in the morning and this came in the time promised.

The staff member on duty made quite a fuss about storing our bags until the check in time. Located outside the main attractions of La Rochelle. No immediately evident restaurant in the vicinity for evening dining. Best suited to those with own transport.

Pleasant staff clean room

Nowhere to safely store bicycles overnight, staff could not help, so could not recommend to other cyclists to stay there - very disappointed based on all the hotels we have stayed have always gone out of their way to store our bicycles

We booked a double ensuite room for one night. Room and shower room both good standard and comfortable.We were surprised that the hotel restaurant does not open at the weekend. But the member of staff on duty was very helpful and set up a table in the bar for us to eat a 'picnic' of bread/cheese/fruit. We were grateful for his kindness.Good location for travellers as hotel is near to the main route west.

Easy parking. Clean. This is a simple but functional hotel, with a nice breakfast and reception area. Friendly staff. But definitely no thrills. Well located half way between La Rochelle and the pleasant beaches to the south.

No small fridge to chill water or to keep food in - we suggest adding this would enhance significantly comfort of customers in hot weather. Note the bus service to La Rochelle stops early, around 8.30pm, so does not work if you wish to have dinner there. You definitely need a car to use this hotel. However we did not find parking in La Rochelle to be a problem. We used the large car park at the top end of the park - there is a very pleasant walk from there through the park down to the harbour. However after midday we noticed town centre car parks were full.

Clean simple room with a good breakfast. Near a bus stop ( no8) for a bus to the harbour area.
