About
The Auberge de la Madone provides accommodations surrounded by 3 hectares of orchards and olive groves. It offers a gastronomic restaurant with a panoramic terrace. Each guest room at Madone has a private bathroom, and some have private balconies. They all overlook the surrounding parkland. The breakfast includes local produce such as fresh juice, homemade jams and fresh fruit salad. The restaurant's menu changes every few days depending on the market produce. It serves Mediterranean fish dishes and regional specialties made from local, organic ingredients. There are many on-site activities on offer, including cooking classes and tennis. Guests can also enjoy hiking and cycling in the surrounding countryside. The Auberge de la Madone faces the medieval village of Peillon. Nice is 16 mi away and Monaco is a 40-minute drive from the property. Free private parking is available.

Pros +
- The hotel and its situation in the town of Peillon was fantastic. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was very nice.
- The location is great, perfect to explore the town and to go hiking. The road leading there twists and turns but it's worth it. The food at the restaurant on site is absolutely fantastic. I recommend the "stock fish" which is a local soup although it doesn't sound like it. Breakfast is just OK. The coffee is good. I attach photos of the town, two of the food.
- So unique to find such an outstanding hotel in an off the main road location.
Cons -
- One of the main reasons that we chose this hotel was for the Michelin-star type of cuisine that it advertised. We ate dinner there and were sadly disappointed by the flavour and value for cost of our meals. We've had better and cheaper while in Provence.
- The rooms are a bit run down. The mattresses are hard. My husband and I had a suite overlooking the terrace. Nice view except that the automatic light doesn't switch off until midnight. It was hard to fall asleep. The room where the friend traveling with us stayed in was dirty: the toilet had not been cleaned and the shower had a huge piece of mold in one corner (see fourth photo.) We were going to stay three nights, but left after one.
- The views from this property were fabulous and the historic buildings nearby made the stay worthwhile. Not fancy but somehow elegant feeling. The dinner was delicious and the staff was very friendly

The location and the restaurant
The facilities are too old and need renovation
A cosy french place! Friendly people, best breakfasts! No air conditioning, just a fan (in the room or on the terrace).

Lovely location in a hillside village with great views down the valley. Room was basic but clean and had a balcony. Bathroom ok but no stand up shower. Dinner in the evening was very good and breakfast was the also good. Hotel's car park was not locked but the hotel is in such a quiet area we felt the motorcycles were pretty safe.
Steep uphill walk to the car park was hard work in 32'C heat with all our bags.
Lots of character, beautiful view, clean room, cute balcony, fantastic dinner
Breakfast was ok
Location and staff
Limited breakfast
Location is perfect for those who likes a getaway from noisy cities to a calm remote place with spectacular views. The Peillon commune is magical. The restaurant in the hotel is very good, they have two options, bistro which is a simple 3 course meal and gastronomical one, with 5 course dinner.
The room might be more clean.
Very nice hotel next to the breathtaking perched village of Peillon. The room was great, but the bed a bit short if you are tall. The staff was friendly and helpful. Delicious food.
A place where you can really enjoy the silence, beautiful nature, clean air and excellent cuisine. Comfortable clean rooms, homely atmosphere, hospitable polite and responsive staff. Here is a great opportunity to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of city life and be filled with the quiet little joys of a simple leisurely life - a pleasant conversation in the fresh air, the smell of pine needles and flowers, a glass of wine and a variety of flavors of deliciously prepared dishes.
Just the tranquility and the fabulous food and lovely staff
The location and the view from room balcony. Staff were attentive and friendly.
Room cleanliness: although it was not noted in the room description, there was a small fridge in the room. However, it was so dirty and smelled that you could not keep any food in it. Staff were attending to the room daily and changed the towels, which we did not ask for (followed the signs in the bathroom), but did not clean the toilet floor (leaking WC), nor the furniture in the balcony. Also, the light on the balcony would only stay on if you press and hold the button down.
The person who helped us for the dinner is excellent and so much patience to arrange the dinner for group of people,
Location. It is top of the mountain and narrow road to get in
Amazing location and vibes. The resturant downstairs, the guys that own the place and give you fantastic tips for what to see in the Village and hikes, and the views made this the highlight of our holidays. Highly recommended.
No aircon so hopefully its not too hot outside.
Top location, food, staff
Rooms without air condition, beds not comfy
The place had a beautiful location on the top of the village. Nice and clean room with exceptional views. The staff was very friendly and treated (as far as we could see) the other guests very well. The hotel seemed professionally run. And the meals we had were very good
A long walk or steep drive to other shops. But that is also a part of the attraction
comfortable beds, clean, friendly staff
getting there after dark can be tricky
exceptional location. historic building and town. Davide was very helpful and accommodating. fabulous food
Location was great, quiet, very scenic. Free spacious parking and friendly staff, quick check in, despite being quite busy.
Wifi was completely not available in my room, no signal. Room was very clean, but furniture and amenities are noticeably old and used, but clean nonetheless.
