Pros +
- Room with terrace and mountain view - possibility to take a welcoming hot bath after a long hike - enoug private parking - swimming pool that is well maintained - very friendly staff - great hotel restaurant with unbeatable prices for a 3-course menu and really good wines! - well located in the middle of Arriege: all the hiking areas are within a range of a 1 hour drive.
- Lovely balcony and view of the garden and mountain.
- The staff were very good, the room was comfortable and clean. The food in the restaurant very good. covered parking for motorbike.
Cons -
- Smell of cigarette smoke in the room, no airco.
- bathroom very dark we had to use our head tourch and although it says shower it is only attached to the taps you cannot attach the head to anything you have to keep it in your hand which makes showering a bit awkward.
- The only negative moment was when we forgot to close the window on a sunny day only to return in the middle of a mountain storm, to find everything on the table next to the window soaking wet. Lesson learned. Close the windows… just in case. The evening meal was excellent for meat eaters, or pescatarians, but, like in many areas of rural France, there was no option for vegetarians.

We really liked this pension. Staff were friendly and helpful, Food was excellent. Pool was clean and inviting. Area is spectacularly beautiful and couldn't beat the price.
The staff were very helpful and tolerant of our poor French. The hotel is ideally suited as a base to explore the area which is fascinating and not too touristy. Great mountain walks and little villages to explore abound. We only had breakfast at the hotel on the last day of our stay. It was an extended version of the continental breakfast. Coffee, croissants and bread and jam, cheese or honey. Plus yoghurts, fruit salad and muesli. There were no hot options, but that didn’t bother us because we never have a cooked breakfast. Given French prices for coffee the access to a coffee pot for as many cups as you like alone was worth the price of the breakfast. We certainly did not leave the table feeling we needed to call into a boulangerie to fill up :-)

The outdoor pool was lovely - well cleaned and a good temperature. The 3 course dinners were delicious and it was delightful to be able to eat them out in the peaceful garden.
It would be good if there was the option to book half-board (demi-pension) for this location on the booking.com website since good rates for this are offered by the hotel locally. For the dinners, it would be good if there were a few more vegetarian/vegan options on the main menu and also possibly the option of eating a la carte for those who want to have a smaller meal. Knowing about the location of the larger car park would be useful before arrival.
