Pros +
- Phenomenal location - great real Saarland hospitality and flavor. Very clean and well kept. Staff was friendly and very efficient. Price was a good value.
- Very friendly and customer-oriented staff. Great restaurant for dinner, cozy hotel rooms. Everything is perfect, we will
- The hotel restaurant and room were all beautifully decorated. The bed was large for a single room and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious with a large variety to choose from. The location is very good with a short walk to Bostalsee. The spa is located right next to the hotel.
Cons -
- Screaming children running up and down the hall every night after 22:00. The restaurant is overpriced for what you get and they have no lunch options. Not enough lounge chairs at the pool and people pile their belongings on them and leave. There is a cable running across the bottom of the pool which I kept stepping on.
- -room is very small -bathroom also very small (no conditioner)-from 6am onwards all I could hear was banging of doors…very annoying
- One small downside: I found the pillow too big and hard for my liking. It would be great to offer two pillow options so guests can choose what suits them best.

Wonderful Experience! The atmosphere, location, and service were all excellent. The on-site restaurant truly stood out – exceptional service, a well-curated menu, and top-notch quality. The meat and asparagus dishes were especially superb. Highly recommended!

GReat breakfats buffet, amazing choice and everything fresh and healthy. Very friendly service and cozy atmosphere. Really enjoyed it.
Great location. The food is delicious! Breakfasts have a variety of choices, everything is fresh and you can find healthy food. The room, although a little old style, is very cozy and clean. The bath complex was very nice, especially after a walk around the lake. I haven't had such a wonderful rest for a long time!
We appreciated that the room was spacious and clean, which were nice features. However, it was not a suite—it failed to meet many criteria for that.
We were disappointed with the room, as it clearly used to be two single rooms combined into one. This left us with two bathrooms, but they were extremely small—whenever you turned around, you’d bump into something with your elbow or knee. It’s also a pity that, as a couple, we couldn’t spend time together in the bathroom; we had to use them one at a time or use separate ones. The room was labelled a suite, but it certainly was not.Additionally, the sauna area was poorly designed. Although four people could sit next to each other, it was very cramped—not ideal for everyone. The infrared cabin was somewhat bigger, but the whole room was noisy and loud, with a constantly wet floor. There was only one shower available for what seemed to be up to 15–20 people, which was clearly insufficient considering the hotel’s capacity. The sauna area did not match the number of rooms or guests. As for the food, while it was presented nicely, something was off with the sauces. They seemed to contain excessive additives or preservatives, as we both experienced severe stomach problems overnight and felt unusually thirsty, likely due to too much salt. Mistakes happen, but given the high prices, the quality of the food did not match the cost.
The staff was very nice and helpful. I also enjoyed the saunas and the pool.
The pictures are a bit deceiving. My room looked nothing like the photos on the website. The breakfast was a traditional "hotel" style, nothing extraordinary like I saw in the reviews. Also my blankets were twin size, so it didn't cover my body fully.
Very nice hotel with excellent facilities for a pleasant holiday:+ Very friendly staff + Numerous facilities (2 saunas, jacuzzi, swimming pool, ping pong, tennis, etc.)+ Located right by Bostal Lake, which offers many activities+ Comfortable beds+ Spacious rooms+ Amazing breakfast The hotel also offers a free Saarland Card per person, which gives you access to many fun activities and attractions in the area!
The only thing missing was a mini-fridge and water boiler (with coffee & tea) in our room. The internet connection is good, but not extremely fast. Note: the jacuzzi has a very pleasant temperature, though the swimming pool is not heated (at least not during our stay).
Der Lage ist 100% super
I booked Single classic room for 92 Euros per day without breakfast. No photos in the Webseite to describe the Single rooms. Never seen this in 4star hotels ?..
Location is good - just a few minutes away from the lake, restaurants and entertainment for the kids.
Old and run down. Super noisy on the floors, we couldn't sleep after 6.30am due to showering neighbours, doors opening and closing. There is no noise insulation at all. The swimming pool and Spa area is run down and not nice at all. This is a two star hotel, surely not for.
Nice staff, clean hotel. Very good pool and sauna
Breakfast 22€ a bit expensive
This is really an amazing place, so charming and cozy. We liked it since the moment we parked our car in front. All the surroundings and the hotel itself are wonderful! The staff is super friendly and nice. The room was warm and cozy. Maybe we had luck, but the swimming pool area was not crowded at all and we really enjoyed it. The dinner and the breakfast were very delicious. There is also a bar, where we tested some cakes with beer and we were not disappointed at all :) This is a perfect place to relax and be close to the nature. I would highly recommend it, we will be back for sure :)
In general everything was good, the scenery is brilliant, the location is old school German and the food was brilliant for sure. Free parking was a nice extra.
Pool is a little small, only 1 jacuzzi and some of the staff could have been a bit friendlier. Being told where you MUST sit in the morning when coming down for breakfast when the breakfast room is pretty empty was a little bit excessive when my partner asked if we could sit in the room with a nicer view she was very aggressively told "No!".
The hotel is nice, the location is great although unfortunately the weather wasn’t the best.Great facilities : Pool, sauna, relaxing area.Possibility to have treatments and massages at the neighbouring house. The staff was friendly.
I was a little concerned about the cleanliness of the rooms, when I saw customers with a dog leaving the hotel. They are accepted but being a person with allergies, how can I be sure, no dog slept previously in the room?
The breakfast was delicious and the hot tubl was wonderful ?
The swimming pool was a little chilly.
Very friendly staff. Nice parking space. Good restaurant. Lovely environment.
The cheaper single person rooms are on the side of the kitchen. The fan of the kitchen is turned on at 5:30, which is an excellent time to go for a walk around the lake anyway :-)
The location was perfect for visiting friends in the area. The rooms were clean, comfortable & modern. All areas of the hotel were spotless. The staff were welcoming & polite, helpful & accommodating. Not all spoke English but everything we asked was understood and there was always someone at reception who could. Our stay was very pleasant & we can’t wait to stay again!
Our only complaint was a lack of additional pillows in the room. We had singles so there was just 1 pillow on the bed. Only a minor thing really. I did actually struggle to think of anything I didn’t like!
You can walk to the lake from this hotel.
Our bathroom was old and the toilet and shower smelled terrible from the old pipes. The staff was overwhelmed and sometimes very rude.
