    Pros +

    • Quiet, spacious rooms, right in downtown Kulmbach, the old city center. Great breakfast buffet and excellent traditional German dinner options. Good service and good price/value.
    • Very clean, good food, nice staff, good location
    • Everytime awesome staff, cozy and silent rooms and good food.

    Cons -

    • It’s about 30 minutes away from the freeway, so not a good transit location, but excellent for local excursions. Limited hotel parking (for 5 Euros per day), but it is not a problem to park on the street (free after 18:00 and most of the time on weekends) if you have a German “Park-Scheibe” (Parking Plaque), allowing you to park for free for 2 hours during metered times.
    • A bit noisy (thin walls)
    • Pillows were very uncomfortable

A beautiful hotel on a nice Swabian square with very nice staff and a great restaurant. The parking space is right next to the hotel. We spent 2 nights here with our family and were very satisfied.

Our stay at the hotel was fantastic; the kids loved having their own separate room with bunk beds. The breakfast was wonderful, and the staff were incredibly helpful, especially with arranging private parking, which gave us peace of mind. We had everything we needed and would definitely recommend this hotel and visit it again.

The hotel is very nice, in a small town in Germany, 30 minutes away from Legoland and 1h40 from Munich/Stuttgart. We had a room with a double bed and a second bed/couch, which made it a bit difficult to move around but not a big issue. The room looks nice, it was clean, the staff was extremely nice to us. You can also reserve a parking space, it was very useful for us. Breakfast was very good, not a huge selection but very tasty and in good quality. They also have a restaurant which caters to locals as well. The food there was also very good, we enjoyed it a lot!

    No major issues.

A fantastically updated Hotel in the heart of the old town a perfect location for walks and shopping. The rooms are like brand new and the staff and management are very helpful and friendly. We also enjoyed the restaurant for dinner and breakfast.

    Nothing identified.

Staff, room, breakfast, dinner and location

Nothing but do book your parking in advance. Outside the hotel for just €5 per day. Your name is on the board?

We stayed in a family room for 2 nights at the Stadthotel Kachelofen while visiting Legoland (about 25 minutes away). The room was spacious and nicly decorated with a big double bed and a separate room with a bunk bed for the kids. The room had a big bathroom with a separate sliding door for the toilet. The hotel offered a few parking spots to be booked beforehand, which we were able to use the first night. The second night, we luckily found parking at the Marktplatz. The breakfast had a good selection. We appreciated the scrambled eggs they cooked up when we arrived. We had dinner the first night, the food was really good and the staff was very attentive, we can really recommend you to have dinner at the hotel while staying!

On the second night when we came back late from Legoland, we didn't have a reserved parking spot anymore. When asking why at the reception, the staff didn't know and couldn't assist as she was working in the restaurant and didn't handle parking. She suggested to park at Marktplatz or a nearby street which in the end solved the problem. When checking out, they first asked me to pay parking for 2 nights, which makes me think that there must have been a mistake made somewhere. It's good to know that the rooms don't offer air-conditioning or a fan so we had to open the windows as the nights we stayed were warm. There was quite a lot of noise from cars driving pass on the cobblestones with loud music or beeping the horns.

We always enjoy staying here, lots of good food, good breakfast and lovely staff. It’s great that you can get a named parking place. It’s very modern, clean and an easy stay. Roll on next year.

    Nothing not to like.

We stay at Kachelofen everytime we pass in that area. Kind and helpful staff, delicious food and comfortable rooms

    8JubjubPosted on: 5-21-2024

Good German breakfast in a functional, if slightly spartan room. Glad that we had supper outdoors in the square, and the food was OK.

The Reception staff were a bit busy - too busy to smile and to offer a welcome - maybe too much multi-tasking!

The hotel is situated in the centre of Krumbach, a beautiful bavarian hotel, with a lot of details specific to the area. We loved our family room, very clean and with everything you need to feel yourself welcomed and have a nice stay. The restaurant is really nice as well, tasry food, very nice personnel.Highly recommend. The owners are very nice and helpful. Thank you so much for having such a nice experience at Stadhotel Kachelofen!Definitely worth the stay! ❤️

    Not the case.

Clean, nice staff, exceptional breakfast. When we arrived we had a note in the parking lot with the designated spot, with our name.

    8DianaPosted on: 3-24-2024

Nice modern room for family in beautiful village. I liked the personal was still there for us when we arrived later then planned. The breakfast is also great!

It was a too hot in our room and the pillows and duvet a bit too stiff to our taste.

Nice, cozy and comfortable.Friendly and helpful staff.Great breakfast and service

Pleasant staff. Very clean and nice located hotel. Good breakfast.

Family room was very small and 2nd bed was not comfortable for sleeping. The design of the bathroom and its door are not suitable for a family room.

Very good breakfast. Kids enjoyed it . Lovely town . Excellent beer :)

    10AndreabindaPosted on: 7-26-2023

The staff is very kind and helpful. The location is excellent, the hotel and the rooms are clean and comfortable. There is an attached restaurants with typical Algäu dishes and the breakfast is tasty and high quality

Everything was great, and the stay very pleasant. If really have to move a criticisms, I would have loved a coffee/tee machine in the room.
