Pros +
- Very old, and the heating didn’t work properly. Cold air came in through the windows, and there was no sound insulation. The beds were terrible — it didn’t feel like a hotel at all and had no facilities for the price.
- Location. Dood staff
- The area is gorgeous and this is the only hotel I found here. Many hiking trails and the reception can guide you. Food at the restaurant was good but not cheap. Pretty much your only option.
Cons -
- Very old and dirty room without air conditioning.
- Such a shame that they’re not offering anything in the fjord. No swimming, no boat rides, no dinner by the water. Sauna was okay but not even a jacuzzi. Would be great with a full wellness area.
- It is quite dark in the room. Suggestion is to make refreshment of the walls and ceilings in the rooms. If there will be just some people in the hotel (I do not know how many should be or maybe this is only in the wintertime), but then breakfast will be served, so, it means no chances to choose what you want to eat in the morning. Luckily we were from Saturday to Sunday with lots of guests.

Good location beside fjord. Free parking and very close to the food shop. There is also restaurant in the first floor. We were in January and rooms were warm with possibility to change temperature, even these were Norwegian vintage radiators. There is bath in the bathroom, TV and coffeemaker in the rooms and WiFi all around. Relatively soft madrass. Pictures of the surrounding mountains and fjord on the walls. The breakfast was included in the price and good.

We loved breakfast, it was fantastic! Also we loved that the staff was truly helpful and wonderful with all tips for mountain hikes and must see places.
Nice location by the fjord. Breakfast was excellent and served in a nice patio. We had a very good dinner too. A well-stocked supermarket acrosss the road
A kettle in all the rooms would be nice.
The best was good.
Our room was very moist and humid. There was a leak from the tub and the water was soaked up by the carpet near the door.
Very quiet, nice views, breakfast was really good
wifi signal was weak, tv was placed at a fridge and was flimsy/crooked
Nice lady at the reception.
Wifi didn't work. Room was really outdated.
Nice with free coffee in reception and free parking. Good standard breakfast
Dusty in the room and some smell from the bathroom when we arrived, the smell was gone by dinner after some ventilation.
The receptionist was very welcoming and helpful. She gave me two great tips for quick cycles on the morning of my departure.Location right at the end of the fjord was lovely, breakfast was very good and nice touches with free coffee and lovely sitting area overlooking the fjord
No negatives for me!
The location on the shore front is stunning. The room was bright and clean, and reasonably spacious. Beds were comfortable and the TV allows for casting from your ipad/iphone.There's a "recharge" electric car charger nearby which will be handy for EV drivers. Staff were very friendly and quite keen to show off the hotel's history. On site restaurant is expensive, but absolutely delicious. There are cheaper options in the nearby town of Ovre Ardal.Checkin was very simple. I said my name, they gave me the key. Done!
There's no elevator, and carrying four pieces of heavy luggage to the 3rd floor takes a lot of effort. Room was very warm despite having all the heaters turned off and the temperature outside being 16 degrees. We slept with the windows open, but seagulls outside do have regular comedy club sessions.
Friendly staff, clean, quick check in and check out, good breakfast.
The lighting was incredibly dim. No electrical sockets near the bed. Problematic to go outside later in the night as doors are closed and security is needed to open them.
The location of the hotel was surprisingly good. Very close to the food shop if does not want to eat at the restaurant. This was wintertime (february), så rooms were warm. Ok, old style radiators, but works good. Also bath in the bathroom. We came late and left early, so does not know about city or facilities around, but in room was TV and WiFi. In the morning breakfast was good. In the room coffeemaker. Good mattress. Free parking in the front of the hotel.
It is hard to remember, but maybe suggestion is to make refreshment of the walls and ceilings in the rooms.
Room was very comfortable and quiet. The included breakfast was good, but it could have included more vegan options.
The shower leaked all over the bathroom floor. The design was not good for a shower setup.
Beautiful spot
Food (included breakfast was disappointing, dinner we ordered salmon and potatoes a la carte and both fish and vegetables were cooked and served in tin foil with a ready made sauce that came out of a huge bucket, and it was priced as if we were fine dining…) Overpriced hotel and restaurant.
Great location. Amazing activities with Bulderonbrak. Clean and comfortable
Basic rooms for price (that seems normal for Norway)
Great location and public spaces. Room was big and bathroom was clean and probably just renovated. Breakfast was good
Windows were dirty. Room style seemed a bit 80.
The staff was super nice and help us with our laundry.Quit and great viewNice breakfast
The hotel is little old fashion but well preserved
Good hotel with a location very convenient for my needs. Very efficient reception and clean rooms with comfortable bed.
Pity that the restaurant by the reception was closed - it was considerably better than the rear dining room which is now only dining opportunity.
