Hotel Heidegrund

The area of the hotel is excellent. It is a beautiful location with plenty of opportunities for sightseeing, walks or just relaxation. It is easy to reach and provides wonderful amenities. The spa is quite large and has a lot of different options to explore. The breakfast is an absolute highlight. There are a lot of options and everything looks and tastes very fresh. For those that are looking for variety: They have plenty of vegan alternatives as well.

It wasn't quite clear how to turn on the bubbles in the whirlpool. The button that was next to the whirlpool had some descriptive text that has been almost entirely faded out. It isn't a big issue but it was something to keep in mind. There are quite a few options in- and around the place that aren't explained or signed and require you to explore, ask of otherwise discover. (For example: the location of the spa and where to go to reach it)

Room, breakfast and wellness areas were most enjoyable.

Evening meals were bland and way over priced for what was served. Staff were polite according to business protocol.

The facilities were excellent. Tranquil and scenic environment. Very clean. The superior room was very spacious. Fantastic breakfast buffet, and although the restaurant menu options are limited, the food standard was very good. Plenty of parkin available. Special mention for Marco, Henry and another young man who served us at dinner on our first night (whose name I didn't get unfortunately) for being so friendly, welcoming and efficient in their service.

Unfortunately the air conditioning system did not always do its job, so the room was uncomfortably hot during the hot weather on our stay. Sleeping was difficult. There was one afternoon when there were a lot of trainees and only one member of experienced staff (a man with dark hair and short beard) at the restaurant/cafe when the service was appalling. The more senior staff member on duty at the time (described above) actively avoided serving our rather large table of guests and had no interest in managing the trainees available to help them do their job better. He was fully aware of our frustration and mutliple attempts to get served, yet chose to ignore us and serve other tables, which we found incredibly rude and unjustified. We were only ordering drinks, so it wasn't a complicated set of orders to serve. Very disappointing and unprofessional attitude for what was otherwise a wonderful stay. It would have been much appreciated if information on notices, and menus was also in English for the non German guests. Similarly, a couple of English speaking channels would have been great to find on the TV. It made evenings in the room a little boring.

It was a nice hotel if you need to be in the area and probably wouldn’t find a better one.

Crowded spa but put that down to poor weather, food expensive and was just ok. Bar waiting staff need to smile more and generally need to be more welcoming. Appreciate the younger ones are training but a smile doesn’t cost anything

Excellent location, facilities, smart room, wellness area and pools. Loved the outdoor natural pool. Loved our room with balcony which opened up to the forest. Great breakfast, excellent dinner. Peaceful. Fridge in room excellent and choice of pillows appreciated. Lots of parking available.

We stayed too short ?

-breakfast was good, saunas were nice-dinner at the restaurant was good

- small inside pool, gets very busy- check the opening times of the restaurant, quite strict. - check if you are staying inside the hotel or adjacent vila( a small walk to the sauna)- lounge sauna area small, gets very busy- not much to do around the hotel in cold days

We liked everything about this hotel. Location, staff, great and huge room, spa with swimming pool, different kind of sauna and so on. Good quality breakfast. We will definitely come back and stay more.

The only constructive suggestion is to make the breakfast reach the ‘wow’ point ?

Service in restaurant could be better.

Brilliant and friendly staff, excellent room and facilities, lovely food with good choice for vegetarians. Wish we were staying longer than a one night stopover. Highly recommended

The location allows a chilled rest with options for walks and some pleasant stops. The hotel was clean and spacious with very good food.The staff was helpful.

The fact that the roof works started at 0730 exactly above our room was very disappointing. Hotel management was understanding and apologetic.

Clean rooms, friendly and helpfull staff, comfortable beds, well-equipped bathroom / dog bowls in the room are a warm welcome for the dogNice surroundings

We're already talking about going back there! Loved the spa in this environment. And the breakfast was amazing! (Although the coffee wasn't great)

We were sad we couldn't get a late checkout. But that simply means the late checkout is really popular. (Even though it is 50 euro extra)

Really enjoyed our stay, very quiet location, peaceful. The breakfast and dinner were very nice. People were friendly.

Outside swimming pool is pretty but not very welcoming, the bottom is very slippery and we spotted few little frogs in there. It’s a shame that kids are not allowed in the swimming pool area in the afternoon.

Warm welcome. Nice cafe area at the back of the hotel to have a late afternoon drink. Lots of varied walking opportunities in the adjoining forest and surrounding pathways. Good evening meal and breakfast with plenty of choice. Very clean and comfortable bedroom and bathroom.
