- Pałac Wasowo: Stunning Setting, but Service Falls Short
- Location
- Everything! It was perfect idea for escape for a few days when weather is not the best. Very pleasant place, large and comfortable room. Travelled with our cat and he also liked it :).First day we probably were alone, as we were served beautiful table for breakfast. But buffet next days was also very nice. Ladies at reception were very attentive to make our stay comfortable. There is an elevator, but we lowed to walk beautiful staircases. Loved the small pool and beautiful SPA treatment. Sitting next to Fireplace with its special smell of burning wood early morning, while it is raining outside is one of the very special memory about our stay. Restaurant offers good choices, beautifully served. Charming place, real palace experience, highly recommended
Cons -
- I was really looking forward to staying at Pałac Wasowo, as the stunning castle had caught my eye. Upon check-in, the welcome was just okay—not particularly warm, but nothing to complain about. However, the service at dinner was where things started to go wrong. The restaurant closed quite early at 7 pm, so we hurried to make it in time. When we arrived, three staff members completely ignored us. After being overlooked, I finally had to step in front of one and announce that we were two people wanting a table. The staff seemed confused, even though several tables were free, which made the experience feel unorganized and unwelcoming. The service, overall, left a lot to be desired. That said, the food itself was a highlight of the evening. It was absolutely delicious—definitely a "chef’s kiss" moment. If I could meet the chef, I’d thank them personally for saving the dining experience. The food was the one shining element of the evening. The spa, unfortunately, was another disappointment. It was advertised as being open until 10 pm, but only the pool was accessible, as the saunas were closed earlier than expected. On a brighter note, breakfast was solid, with a good selection of options. The only thing missing for me was a wider variety of fruits—there were grapes, but I would have appreciated more choices. Still, that’s a minor issue compared to the other disappointments.Overall, Pałac Wasowo is a beautiful place, but the service needs serious improvement. A little more attention to hospitality would elevate the experience significantly, as right now, it falls short of its potential.
- Stunning house and its surroundings, but sadly very poorly managed.Place requires some serious TLC.Staff deserves some training and clear leadership. Why on Earth would you burn a pile of rubbish outside such a stunning place…Not even talking about the cleanliness of the room.
- Nothing. Even creaky floorboards didn’t disturb as this was natural part of castle atmosphere :)

Best dinner !Staff ok !
Poor breakfasts--- The palace needs to be renovated quickly ---
Wonderful and helpful staff
Room rather cold, radiators not working, only electric fireplace provided minimum heat
We booked an apartment but were issued a double room.instead. The receptionist was extremely accomodating though and moved us into an apartment with a view of the lake. The restaurant was clean and classy and food excellent as was the breakfast.
The Palace. The room. The atmosphere. The food. The drinks. The ambiente.
The place was beautiful and historic. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was enormous and delicious. We all had massages which were great and very convenient. Wish we could have stayed longer.
The beds are very firm. My in-laws are used to that but it was a bit hard for us. They have satellite TV with many channels BUT could invest in a couple that aren't in Polish, like BBC World or Deutsche Weller for the English and German speakers.
- Dinners from menu are tasty.- beautiful park and exterior.- free parking Good place to visit for a walk and lunch/dinner, waste of money for a hotel stay. You can find much better options in that budget.
- Breakfast during weekdays is bread with some cheese and ham to make sandwich. No bouffe. Standard for hostel. During weekends there is bouffe, but very poor.- emergency ligh in the room is crazy. You can read book with it, see the photo attached, but can't sleep unless you will cover it somehow.- no WiFi in room at the end of corridor (not in notebook, nor mobile phone)- no fridge or kettle in the room. - staff in reception was nice, but in restaurant not so much, waitress started burning trashes in fireplace while we were still eating dinner!- you can feel tension from restaurant staff and wellness/spa staff because of staff shortages (we took bath, bathtub got turned off after few minutes and there was no one to fixed it, I had to go to restaurant for paid drinks because there was no one to bring it,- swimming pool in poor condition, dirty bottom- cat running around restaurant, jumped on my laps when I was eating breakfast, no one takes under consideration that some people are allergic to cats,
This time we could enjoy our stay in a really nice room with amazing view.Great food, amazing garden and facility.
The country setting is amazing. Faded grandeur with panelled rooms and high ceilings, enchanting. Large comfortable room and good restaurant.
Historic aspect of the facility, location in a beautiful park/forrest
Very basic room, poorly equipped, poorly maintained, dirty. In general, the place needs thorough clean up!!!!Restaurant closing kitchen at 19:00!!!! You must be joking! And it is listed as a 4 star hotel???!
The food was exceptional . Top top chef .
The receptionist was so very rude . Unhelpful and generally very difficult: had to pay for the room and dogs within 1 minute of arrival. Gave me the worst room in the hotel . I changed , obviously. I would not recommend a hotel where you are treated like a second class citizen. If she had been polite I might have seen the funny side of Faulty Towers !! Do not put up with rude receptionists!!!!
Nice palace with a small swimming pool inside and a pool table. My kids really liked the three bunnies in front of the main entrance.
Upon arrival around 18.15, we were informed that we could only order food until 18:30. The stairs needed a good cleaning, and the shower in our room had some minor issues.
Everything. I have been visiting here for many years and always love the place and the surroundings
We ate in the restaurant for my daughters birthday. She had a different meal to all of us and a few hours later she started throwing up and continued the whole nightWhen we checked out the next day the girl at the reception just said sorry and she would tell the restaurant. I expected more perhaps no charge for the meal. But to defend them this is the only bad experience I have ever had there
I like the place. Beautiful view. Peaceful and relaxing. It has a gothic style that made you feel like living in the old days and having breakfast in the victorian style balcony. The best part is Palac Wasowo has a charging station for electric cars, so we didn’t need to worry where to charge our car. The spa receptionist and masseur is really nice and service oriented, just needs to speak a little english for better communication.
The palace needs a lot of cleaning improvement in the corridors, stairs and spa area. It could be helpful if the staffs can also speak English for better communication to the guests as I can see that many of the guests are internationals including me.
It’s secluded location, peace and quiet in a fantastic setting, singing cranes…
Nice old palace, beautiful territory
The facilities don’t value the money, not comfortable to sleep because of green light lamp, little swim pool which need a renovation
the area and garden was nice.
Place was dirty, room was unclean, dusty and no hoovered. In the room has lot of different bugs, Fly's and mosquitoes. too hot to keep windows close, but can't keep windows open because of the mosquitoes. The place marketing themselves as a spa, that what we waiting for. We get in there and they told than spa is close. No any mention of this in website. Restaurant close 7.30pm and after 6.30pm not possible to do any orders, not even deserts.
Beautiful place with fantastic atmosphere.
Dinner was disappointing. Food was ok but waiter typical example of former Sovjet (non-)friendliness. Kitchen closes at 18h30!! So no time to enjoy Dinner of you arrive later. Breakfast very moderate. Previous comments of guests suggested a good experience but we could not find why.
