Pros +
- Very nice welcome from the staff. The dinner was delicious. Very large and quiet room with a great shower. Nice park for strolling. Highly recommend if you're in the Basque region.
- We really enjoyed our stay at Domaine Agerria. The château is beautiful, the village around it is quiet and nice, and the restaurant was a great surprise — really good food.Magret canard was fabulous! What stood out most was how kind and helpful the hosts were. When we had a small problem with our car , Armanda immediately suggested where we could go to fix ii, and she also added special cheese from the region we like to the breakfast !That kind of personal attitude makes such a difference.Overall, it felt welcoming and easy, and we left with very good memories. Would happily come back!
- Very clean and modern. We were a very tired group of pilgrims on a 7-day pilgrimage from Lourdes to St. Jean Pied de port. This was our only planned hotel stay and it lived up to our expectations and needs. Meals were excellent and The Staff was outstanding and worked hard to meet our every need. Would gladly stay there again.
Cons -
- Only negative was the walk uphill from town to reach the hotel. We were traveling by foot and very tired. It was well worth the effort!
- There were many flies and no window screens to keep them out.
- No kettle, no tea making facilities. Building should have had real ambience, but has been modernised to be like every paint-by-number chain hotel

Best hospitality in a beautifully repurposed monastery, with large, spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and well-appointed bathrooms. The view over the vineyard is absolutely perfect!

Lovely staff nice accommodation, a little expensive.
Breakfast wasn’t great
the staff such as it was was friendly however, we arrived on the assumption there was a restaurant and it was closed. obviously, there were not enough guests to warrant keeping it open but we would have appreciated being informed. this was a tuesday when most restaurants in the village were also closed on their usual closing day. we spent some time finding a restaurant in a neighboring village which was open.
the wifi system is not adequate for a three star hotel. there was no internet one could work with. it kept dropping out. clearly, the internet installation is basic with a router and no extenders in a huge building.it was suggested that the provider was not answering requests to increase coverage. pu-lease! if one pays the subscription, the provider increases coverage. we all know that. we use the same one at home!
Great location with friendly front desk. Nice comfy, large & clean rooms with a good bathroom. Lovely view of the town over the vines. Fantastic breakfast with lots of options. . Nice place, I would recommend it.
rooms good size & clean
long way from anything without a car.late check in
Location was lovely next to vineyard located on property. Free parking & only 5 minutes to town. Central for touring French Basque Country.
The property was beautiful, a little rough but historic places are. The rooms were spacious and modern, clean and comfortable.there was a lovely area to have morning breakfast and another for wine late afternoon. The town took over this monastery and invested in creating a lovely place for visitors to stay. A lovely place!
The church attached is in decline but would take a lot of money to restore but still beautiful’
Lovely view. Very good breakfast.
Dinner rather expensive.
The situation
Restaurant was closed Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday night
Quiet. Lovely rural location but close to town.
Unfortunately the restaurant closed the night we stayed. Bar food an alternative.
A great business-style hotel with restaurant and bar in a rural location situated in a former monastery. The hotel is run by the local town council and this shows in the design and standard of the communal areas. Staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are perfectly clean and quite spacious, with a fabulous view over the vineyard, town and the distant hills.
The decor is more in keeping with a high-rise urban hotel than a beautiful nineteenth century building in the countryside, and the hotel is noticeably run by a municipal authority. The carpet in the communal areas was stained and uniquely awful music played continuously throughout the dinner and breakfast service. The restaurant is extremely expensive in relation to the standard of cuisine, which can best be described as ambitious.
Lovely Hotel, with lots of character in a fantastic location with view of the hill surrounding Mauleon Licharre. Romm was lovely, with 2 windows and very clean. Very nice bathroom, with powerful shower and clean. Customer service was excellent and the breakfast was very good, with lot of choice and fresh products. We will stay at the Domaine Agerria again!
great location and amazing views to town . perfect for parking
Ostiralean azaldutako arazoa konpontzeko harrerako komandanteak ez zuen inolako ahaleginik egin. Kontua da bezpera goizean telefonoz ohe supletorio bat jartzeko eskatu geniela eta baietz erantzun ziguten. Ostiralean ordea, ez zegoen ohe supletoriorik, eta okerragoa dena, ez zuten ezer egin problema hori konpontzeko. Holaxe ba.
location wonderful, staff very helpful and pleasant.very decent restaurant. outdoor space beautiful view.
breakfast quite basic. not very soundproof ;-)
view is fabulous - walking distance to the town below
