Heritage Hotel Kukuriku

The location is magical and stunning with a few caffee bars and restaurants to explore close by. The view is amazing, like being in cloud city.

A very tight squeeze for a car (and parking) but there not much they can do about it as it's an old town architecture.

Lovely historic and beautifully decorated and renovated hotel in a sweet village high above Opatija. Breakfast was superb and served in a gorgeous dining room. Our room was large and had every convenience plus a view of the sweet little town square. Parking was available inside the walled town. There were a few great restaurant choices nearby.

The old men in the hotel were very nice and friendly. We had a very good night in this remote and heritage castle. The breakfast was plenty and delicious too.

We had a little struggle to find this place. It was my mistake that I didn’t read the hotel message before arrival.My advice is: Don’t trust google maps in Croatia ?

We had to book this hotel last minute when our other reservation cancelled, but it was such a fun experience. I didn't know much about the property before staying, but it was definitely unique to stay in the town of Kastav. The room was huge and comfortable. Would highly recommend.

Very friendly and perfect for traveling with my dogs. Long walking route, that starts just next to the hotel.

Good hotel in the old town. Parking is not easy in because of road construction on the main square. Helpfull staff. Good restaurant but a little bit expensive one.Rooms has gig size and has a good atmosphere.

The hotel is located in the very center of the old city center, which is an exceptional feeling. The rooms are superbly decorated, very spacious and comfortable and clean. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was very good.

Parking is very inconvenient because the hotel is reached through narrow city streets, which can be a problem for poor drivers and larger cars. The parking lot is not marked, but parking is done on the narrow city streets with the promise of the staff that they will not disturb anyone.

all was good, but parking can be an issue, but they have an electric buggy and will collect you from parking spot

Just to fix the location on google maps did take me to a very bad road to go there,also the parking was not great

The location was excellent in terms of atmoshphere and the surroundings, a bit hard to reach if you are traveling by car but that is the only downside. The hotel restaurant and staff were absolutely amazing.

Kastav is not really touristy but it's only a few minutes from Opatija and is much quieter and very lovely. Kukuriku is in the old town and it's SUCH a lovely hotel with a great restaurant. I don't think the listing here does it justice - check out their website to get a better sense of the hotel.

Clean and cozy room, delicious breakfast, very nice bar and we were lucky to have an exceptional Easter dinner. Highly recommended! Best value for this price. There are lots of trails nearby and you can walk in the forest ? The city is a historical place and it was a very nice visit.

Nice clean hotel , helpful staff and if you do not find a parking near the hotel you park in the parking lot and they come for you with an electric car

Lighting in the room is very poor and the doors are missing between the toilet/bathroom and room.

I first discovered this hotel https://kukuriku.hr/ with renowned chef, Nenad Kukurin, in a New York Times article dated Jan-22-2006, that I’ve held onto since then! It’s taken me this long to get here, but better late than never; Nenad and his wife Tamara are the most wonderful hosts, and their hotel, a former school renovated into a top end, stylish, artistic and classic hotel, is perfect in every way! I had breakfast and dinner on the beautiful courtyard terrace for three days and nights, and all were excellent. I certainly hope to return!
