    • A wonderfully well-kept, expansive resort that's great for families and friend groups of all sizes. Loved how breakfast and dinner were included in our stay- it made enjoying the many beautiful beaches surrounding the resort during the day super easy and convenient! Surrounded by the rugged natural beauty of the Adriatic coast, the charming town of Lopar, and a lively marina and many excursion and activity options, the San Marino Resort really is an all-in-one vacation destination if you're looking to unwind, relax, and have fun in a peaceful, yet lively environment that feels like a home away from home. Would definitely come back again if I get the chance!
    • Location is great, proximity to beach is great, view is decent, everything very walkable as far as distance. Parking was close and extremely convenient. Front desk staff were also helpful and friendly. I realize this is only a 3 star resort so my "dislikes" may be too demanding for this place but its what I found so I will put it below.
    • Buffet was excellent. Room was nice and clean, it wasn't too small or big. Very beautiful location.

    Cons -

    • The dinner was basically cafeteria food. It was also insanely crowded even on a weekday, I can't imagine the weekend. ?And is just the typical cafeteria style setup. This is not 'fine dining' by any stretch. It is "food" nothing more, nothing less. Room- Split beds as appears to be common in this part of the world. This is unheard of in other parts of Europe and the US. A "double bed / queen" is one LARGE mattress not two small single beds pushed together. Single pillow per side, sad little blankets, no top sheet. No tissues in the room except toilet paper. No mini-fridge or mini-bar in the room I was in but I did see some in the hallways so I'm guessing some rooms have them? No elevator/lift so be strong enough to carry your suitcases/luggage up & down stairs. I was in "Sahara" hotel there appear to be 4-5 different small hotels that are part of this setup so I cannot speak for the others. Also, if you are a business traveler, beware. Wi-Fi was horrible in the Sahara hotel anyways. 1-5mbs at BEST, and in some cases more like a 56k dial-up (remember those?) or no internet at all. Don't even attempt it if you are in need of decent Wi-Fi. Thankfully I was actually on vacation here and didn't need to do much work.
    • - The parking situation is a joke. They don’t seem to have their own parking spots, i was told i can park on the side of the road or at some unmarked parking lot or if that’s not available, i should use staff parking. The reason: “we are full”. And? I am also guest and a part of that “being full”. YOU have to make sure that everyone can park, and not make it my problem.- Restaurant: the food is OK I guess, but the restaurant is absolutely overcrowded and it needs a lot of patience and staying cool to get the food you want, since it is all you can eat breakfast and dinner, and eastern europeans tend to behave like animals when it comes to free food. - The refrigerator in the room was very small, only suitable for a very small amount of food. I couldn’t even put a box of fruits in there without it falling out.

The hotel is located in a beautiful area, not far from pine trees, a park, and Paradise Beach. There are many grocery stores and restaurants nearby. The spacious room had everything we needed. This is a hotel complex with several buildings. We stayed in Lopar. From the left block is beautiful view. A/c works great! A wonderful scent of pine trees. The most convenient and closest to the reception and the beach is the Beach (Plaza) building. The restaurant is in a separate building. The parking is open, with little shade. The staff is very friendly.

    - There is no Wi-Fi at all, and the mobile network is poor.- The rooms are old and need renovation.- The breakfast is large and very diverse, but none of it is tasty.- The coffee is probably instant and undrinkable.- Half board is included, which makes the price reasonable, but considering the food is not tasty and you end up not eating at the hotel, the price loses its value, and you are paying a lot for an old hotel.- About the nearby beach, you need to know one thing: it's shallow, and you have to walk about 300 meters to get water up to your chest. This is suitable for families with children under 5 y.o. But for adults, walking through sandy, murky water in 40-degree heat to reach deeper water makes no sense.- We booked a room for three adults, and it was supposed to have a double bed and a double sofa. However, the third adult was given a small folding chair bed suitable for someone 120-130 cm tall.

    Good location, kind staff

Not worth the money, not even close. No internet in the room, small room, no elevator where we were with the stroler, had to pay a bit extra for the child("for the bed") even if it says it is free for small children. Parking very difficult to get and very tight spaces, also no shadow, restaurant not in the hotel, so not that good when raining, not enough children chairs for eating so sometimes you need to wait to get one, food not that great, very few options to choose from, meat was very dry, egg omelete ok, but just ok(cooled for too long), only 2 different salami and cheese types, cakes were good, pizza was good, salad was good, very small glasses for drinks, no freshly squeezed juices, only unhealthy ones or water. Won't see me there again.

The San Marino hotel complex was good as always. We have were there already three times, but now the hotel was surprise for us, because the hotel (Hotel Plaza) was renovated and very modern. The beds - except extra bed - were comfortable. The staff was very helpful, for example I got an extra pillow for ask. The room very clean, because it was cleaned every day. The breakfast and the dinner were good, there were enough foods, but the restaurant was very crowded and it has not good air conditioner. The quality of the meals was good. The beach was very close to the hotel. The room has balcony, on what we could dry the beach equipment and swimming suits. The room has refrigerator, air conditioner, safe etc.

There is no plug in the bathroom. The cabinet was not enough in the room, therefore we had to use the suitcases.

    8ZsófiaPosted on: 7-15-2024

The room is very comfortable, the air conditioning can be adjusted independently which is a great plus, the beach is a few hundred meters away, the food was delicious, although it could have used more vegetarian options. Ideal place for families with small children.

The rooms do not have Wi-Fi, it is available in the common area, but not at all in the rooms. There was hot water only after 10 minutes, which I didn't mind much because a cold shower suffices in hot weather. The vegetarian selection at dinner leaves much to be desired.

Good location, the Hotel Plaza is modern and clean. The beach is very nice and excellent especially for kids! Various foods in the restaurant.

People should not smoke at the nearby of resturant door. No gluten free foods are available in restaurant and lack of signs of gluten containing ingredients.

    10IvászenkoPosted on: 7-7-2024

The property is surrounded with trees and bushes, a lot o shadow and very comfortable 5 minutes walk to the beach.

    9Marius R.Posted on: 3-28-2024

Plaza is a great hotel near to a nice beach for families. The food was tasty. The staff was professional, I was impressed.

Wi-fi not working most of the time and when working speed was very bad, not possible to stream a video. Quite tricky to find a free table to eat. No activity for children nearby, Maro club is on the other side of the beach ... this was horrible.

    4Karla A.Posted on: 12-7-2023

    Oh well...

Let's start with the hotel itself, i just found out that the hotel is Veli Mel and not San Marino Sunny Resort. We came there and thr floor of the room is very grainy (sandy dusty god knows if it was clean thoroughly). The Cr is so crammed that when you showed it is flooding!

    4FlemmingPosted on: 10-11-2023

The beach is good if you have small children 0-8 years.

I will not come back. the place is old and is in desperate need of rennovation. Price value is totally off. There are so many great hotels/appartments in croatia with great location and food, this is not one of them!internet is poor, aircon not working or only working parcial. the rrof is leaking when raining. Food in the restaurant is below standard.

    10PetarPosted on: 10-8-2023

The reception desk is located at the Sahara hotel, after the check-in you are given instructions about the whereabouts of your hotel building and, of course, the key to your room. Mine was on the ground floor with a comfy bed and a very clean bathroom that also smelled nice. I believe all rooms are equipped with AC. The restaurant is a one- or a two-minute walk from the hotel buildings and you just need to say your room number to the front desk officer. It can accommodate a substantial number of guests at any given time, there are also places at the balcony with a nice view of the bay. Food is quite diverse, so everyone will find something that suits them. I always tried to leave some space in the stomach for double desserts ;). The location of the resort is superb, very peaceful and in harmony with nature.

    10ZanePosted on: 9-25-2023

Exellent staff, hospitality on highest level,Most of staff are locals, beautifull place surrounded with peacefull nature, definetly recommend to visit in spring or autummn when is less tourist ...

    6LukasPosted on: 9-10-2023

location and hotel staff were great

restaurant is there to serve 4 hotels constantly overcrowded and you have to wait in line for everything. Too many people at all times. Food ok not bed definitely not great don’t expect much for the money.

    2DijanaPosted on: 8-29-2023

The only good thing was the location.

Outdated rooms and smelly elevator and halls at the Veli Mel hotel. The quality of food was poor and always the same selection of food. It is a 2 star hotel at most.

    1AlbertPosted on: 8-29-2023

    Bad

The meal was the same everyday and poor quality Hotel reception staff very unfreundlich Coffee machine in lobby takes your money but didn’t give you coffee No outside shower at the Ressort
