    Pros +

    • Good location and a lot of history with the old building
    • Beautiful location, friendly staff. Breakfast was ok, nothing special for that price. I'm just a bit confused why breakfast is not included together with the room. Room itself is a bit small and outdated but for a short stay doable.
    • The location was fantastic. Moments away from the castle and with parking too. It also is a beautiful building, while being tastefully modern inside. Bar was self serve, which was nice too. We arrived late and easily found out how to access the hotel. It all went so very smoothly.

    Cons -

    • Bathroom area too small
    • There is no elevator and no one to help you bring up your luggage. Thank god I was only one floor up...
    • So, there are two buildings: Schloss and Himmelreich. If you stay in the suite room, you will stay in the Schloss building, which has the bar, the breakfast lounge,as well as the beverages. The Himmelreich is a very nice place too (modern and clean),but to access to the hotel facilities we would need to go to the other building (Schloss) (70-80 meters away), which is not really convenient. Also, I didn't like that they charge us 25 euros in advance in case we wanted to drink something (to be honest, we wouldn't go one block away to have a tea/beer and then one block back to have it in our room).

    Staff are friendly

Bathroom was very squashed I had to squeeze into the shower also no dinner or no reception after 7pm

The location was /is superb. It's a lovely old building.

The building becomes devoid of staff after 8pm. With just an emergency number to ring. This was not explained on booking the accomadation. So late arrivals beware.

The location is great. The rooms are clean and big enough, the bathrooms with shower are great. We do want to come back.

Overpriced breakfast (18 euros) for what it has to offer (not much variety, really bad coffee). Moreover, worse breakfast I had in a while. Sorry, but for the price we paid, we expected way more - better to go to one of the bakeries nearby (better quality for way lower price)

    fantastic location, sensational breakfast.

breakfast was an additional cost, there were ants in the room and no kettle provided.

Great central location, recently refurbished the room was clean and modern. We travelled with our dog and they offered a dog bed and bowls.

Shower had a difficult to close door that leaked water when used and they had an insanely early check in (closed at 7pm)

We've stayed at the Schloss Hotel several times over the years. It's a beautiful old hotel just down the street from the Castle. Staff, breakfast, and parking were all great. We walked to a small pub for dinner and the food was excellent, although the people there didn't speak much English. From Braunfels, it's only and hour or so to the Rhine river valley and the scenery along the way is spectacular.

The hotel is under different ownership since the last time we visited and has lost some of its personal charm. The biggest disappointment was the cozy little bar that used to be at a lower level. On our previous visit (over 10 years ago) there was a bartender and the locals would stop in and we could visit with them. it was such fun. On this trip the bar had been moved upstairs, no tap beer, no bartender, no locals and very sterile. There was an honor system to get a soda, beer, or other refreshment. We were the only ones there.

Comfortable rooms, recently renovated. Possibility to use lounge area and self-service bar in the evening.

Too early check-out time for this type of hotel.

Affordable, spotlessly clean, great location, parking, restaurant breakfast was very good choice of hot & cold buffet. Staff were very friendly

Not a dislike just an observation, tea/coffee facilities in the room would have been nice.

Middle of the town, cosy and nice hotel and friendly staff. A general bar/room with terrace which is very convenient!

When arriving there was no parking available & our room had a curtain that didn’t cover the whole window and the other pair was kind of see through, this meant a lot of light in the room in the morning while we wanted to sleep in since we where on holiday.

Perfect location with spacious room, self serve facilities after 8pm.

Two single beds put together instead of a double.

Amazing location, very clean property, friendly and helpful staff. The facility is well equipped and the parking is a great addition.

Everything was almost perfect.Things I would change:- Give more comfortable pillows- Make the Air vents in the bathroom quieter.

The hotel was beautiful and room was spacious and neat. The breakfast was one of the best selections we have had. They were also very accommodating to our two dogs.

    No complaints

Beautiful hotel in the center of the city. Not far from a castle. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to explore the surroundings. Definitely suggest hotel for staying.

At least in my room there is no way to get into the shower. It is funny how constructors installed the shower door. The door is possible to open only for approximately 30 cm because of the location of the toilet. Luckily, I managed to squeeze in.In all other aspects the hotel is superb.

It was a great experience in a classical building in a great and quiet location, loved the place as well as the stuff who were friendly, caring and welcoming
