Pros +
- A poor February experience
- Beautiful village. Very good check in system. Beautiful building. We loved it!
- Lovely location adjacent to the church - perfect for watching typical rural French town life from the breakfast salon and bar! Despite restaurant being closed, the tasty bar menu was just right.
Cons -
- Not a very good hotel at all. We stayed in February and were the only guests. There was no reception, no bar, no restaurant. We had to self check in. We might as well have stayed in a plain apartment. In our room (#1) you could not access the wi-fi. It was only reachable when you went into the common sitting area. Our room only had a hand held shower. There was no tea or coffee making facilities, or fridge or mini bar.We had to pay €15 extra for our dog, which was not mentioned when we booked the room. This is a challenge with Booking.com, as the hotel may be pet friendly, but you often have to pay more - which you only find out about when you can't cancel the room anyway. Our room was not very clean. Dirty bathroom floor and cobwebs.
- Would be nice to have water, tea and coffee in the rooms.
- Nothing really

The beautiful historical building The staff is very niceGood breakfast Good value for money
Nothing really
The breakfast was very good, served in a lovely room. The whole building was lovely in fact, very old with beautiful wooden beams and staircases. Our room was on the second floor and was very spacious. Although there is no longer a restaurant the hotel does serve a choice of hot food for dinner, cheese or charcuterie boards, plus desserts so we were happy with that
Very nice, charming French style roomBreakfast French style- 1 croissant, bread, jam, yogurt, cereal - 11€Place of the hotel- overlooking the Church- view from breakfast room is beautiful. Lady at the reception is very nice.
1. Very bad arrival organisation- I arrived 20.30 - the hotel is dark, nobody on reception, everything is closed, no prior information about arrival and no directions- doors are closed, phone is calling- nobody answering. At the end 1 hour after arrival I received an answer in what’s app regarding entrance. All this time I was standing in the street. 2. The restaurant is closed- again no mention about it in advance - so I was left without any dinner. (In the surrounding area everything was closed) 3. Wi-Fi doesn’t work in room.
Location , staff , food and drinks.
Breakfast very good. Rooms large and location good. Drinks very good, food good. Staff helpful and pleasant
The snooker and table football didn’t seem to work. A kettle in the room would be great. These are minor points of course.
The look of the hotel and surrounding area
No staff, no restaurant, no bar, shower did not drain.
Welcoming staff, really nice family room with original features
All was great!
Friendly hotel. Charming interior. Food at the bar was good. Room spacious but dark.
Road noise. No air conditioning. Pricey
Lovely old Hotel, great friendly staff. Good food.
Le Marius was the perfect stopover. We are driving to the South of France from England, and it was perfect for a night's stay after arriving into France. The village is so beautiful, and the rooms were great. Very spacious and comfortable. The bathtub tiles in our room were gorgeous! There is a pretty little terrace outside and it's perfect for having a drink and some food al fresco. It was exactly what we wanted after a long drive in the car. The hotel is right next to the church too, which looks very beautiful. Thank you!
I would have loved a cafetiere (French Press) for coffee in the morning, instead of the 'machine' coffee! Also, the soap in our bathtub was empty. But these are very small things that could have been improved, I'd definitely stay here again!
Its location, overlooking the magnificent church. The room in the attic was beautiful. Only drawback: the bells at 7 am going in for five minutes to be sure you are awake and are not going back to sleep!
Elegant rooms. Friendly staff.
Just a shame the restaurant wasn't open.
Great little hotel, very comfortable rooms and beds, very clean, nice layout of the rooms. We had a family room which was perfect for our family of 5 (kids aged 6,3 and 1) We arrived quite late (7pm) and were immediately seated in the restaurant and had a simple but delicious meal with a glass of champagne. Really enjoyable, nice, quiet, clean hotel - perfect for our stop on the way back to Calais.
Everything was great!
Lovely, large room, with incredibly friendly staff who can't do enough for you. The bed is comfortable, and it is only a short walk to several Champagne houses for a tasting or purchase. We ate very well at La Galette Ricetonne, a 10 minute walk but well worth going to - the food was excellent, some rare Burgundy rosé was available, and the service impeccable. The hotel breakfast was also outstanding, so I would highly, highly recommend adding it on - fresh bread, jam made with champagne grapes, I would have stayed another night just to have that again. We bought 2 jars to take home!
We arrived on a Sunday, and so not much was open. We walked to the neighbouring village, but there had been a power cut due to the storm the day before, so the hotel restaurant there was not serving food to the public, only hotel guests. A real shame, as the area is like a French Cotswolds, and had we stayed another day in the week (and had there not been a power cut), I am sure it would have been perfect. Not necessarily negative, but more a point to bear in mind when planning your trip!
Pleasant location, easy to get to.
Bit stingy on the towel allowance! One bathmat and one towel barely big enough to go around me! Come on, we can do better than that!!
It was in a pretty town. The room we stayed in was delightful. The hotel had lots of character. Sadly the night we stayed it was raining so we could not have a drink outside and gaze at the church opposite. They were not serving a full meal but had what they called bar food and snacks which was a light meal. The staff, especially the gentleman serving breakfast which was great, was charming.
Nicely renovated small charming hotel
