B&B HOTEL Angoulême

Quite easy to find from the autoroute, without GPS.

I didn`t like the fact that it took some 20 minutes to check in, after having driven 400km. Why was I not informed of 88 centimes surcharge at time of booking, and why could I not have paid for it then? It defies belief! I had to communicate with someone via an interphone, then pay with my card FOR 88 centimes!

Unfortunately I forgot that I had styed here before. Although it wasn't bad I had resolved not to stay againOnly a paper cup and nothing to boil water / make a hot drinkAircon controls in a darkspot of the room - my eyesight is not as good as it was and when you are tired .....?Reception has a group of friends (5) who seem to be watching the hotel monitor. I hope they are looking at social media and not the guests accounts. It seems unprofessional and slightly intimidating as theytake an interest in the conversation between guest and receptionist - a private conversation suddenly becomes a public one. I complained about this before but nothing has changed.Noisy drunken guests after 23:00?

Have stayed in other Hotel B&Bs and this one was very disappointing. It was a very cold night, but the heating control was unclear and confusing so we could not make the room warm.The automatic entry and payment system was messy. The person we called half explained but hung up before we had completed the process, so we had to call again to gain entry. There was no printed ticket. The hotel felt indifferent to us.Breakfast (€8.50) was very poor. No ham, no fruit salad, a very limited range, except bread... Overpriced and cynical. An indifferent attendant. The hotels in Alençon and Tours were well run, welcoming and felt like good value, which was why i chose Hotel B&B in Angoulême. I will think carefully before I choose this company again.

Arrived at stated check in time, but still had to check on on machine outside, Very impersonal, very small room, shower ridiculously small.

Not much - ok for one night. Buffalo Grill was convenient.

Reception booking in guest ahead of us - took 15 mins, no apology for the wait.

Great location, good that we could check in late, it was very clean and comfortable.

To have a kettle with tea facilities.

Very friendly and helpful manager. Clean room, quiet. Simple but decent and complete breakfast. Free parking, great stop when travelling.

Shower was leaking (I had to fix it myself), the rest was quite decent for a short stay on a long way.

The room was large and served good breakfast with good quality.

Their check in system was bad. They closed the building’s door by 14:00. They should have open the lobby for guests. We couldn’t get in our room by 17:00.

Excellent manager on reception, spoke good English and was very helpful. would definitely use this hotel again.

We arrived after working hours for the reception and the self check in was not working properly, thankfully the emergency contact was working and the receptionist was so kind and reopened the reception!

Clean, comfortable hotel. Lovely staff.Decent breakfast. Well located and reasonably priced. Two nice restaurants nearby.

They accept dogs at a reasonable tariff.

The room is tiny and hard to move around in. Other hotel chains offer similar rooms at a lower price.

Very clean, quiet and easy access location (even though my sat nav took me through the back road). Great value for money.
