Hotel L'Océan

The property is in an excellent location walking distance to the beach and local shops and restaurants. The hotel staff is lovely and helpful. The hotel is in pristine condition and tasteful decor. My room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. I will return again!

We have stayed here before 20 years ago and it’s only gotten more fabulous!

Nothing, but I’d rather not have a room around the pool. Not that it was bad but I can see how it could be loud?

Excellent staff, great decor, restaurant was excellent. Could not have expected better.

Generous buffet breakfast but not fresh orange juice and ran out of croissants. One delightful male receptionist but one really unhelpful female receptionist

The hotel bar is not manned and it wasn't used by other guests so lacking in atmosphere.

Very nice hotel with a welcoming, friendly and helpful team. We enjoyed the outside spaces including the terrasses and the swimming pool. The bed was a quality bed and we slept perfectly well. the hotel has everything for a wonderful stay. Breakfast was diverse and good.

If I have to find something (not easy), I would say that our room was a bit dark.

Gorgeous boutique hotel with extremely helpful and kind staff. The breakfast was exceptionally good. delicious fresh baguette, coffee made to order and wonderful selection of homemade cakes, pastries and local cheeses and ham. Perfection.

Very French hotel in a cute village on Ile de Ré! It is nicely located near the village center, has it's own restaurant and it's easy to go to all corners of the island from there by car. The hotel is in an old building which has been renovated while keeping the charm. The rooms were spacious and had everything you would need for a short stay. They went for a more vintage look with the furniture and decorations, but overall the room is comfy. The insulation is not great but the radiators work very well to remove the chill once the temperatures drop. All in all we had a nice stay!

The rooms have a bit of an "old" feeling and smell, and didn't feel the cleanest. We didn't notice a lot of dirt but you could feel some sand on the floor and some parts could have been a little spruced up. The bathroom could do with a little TLC but in general did the job well. As it's in an old building of course some things can't be changed, but for the money we would have expected a little better.

great staff. free coffee and cold drinks in lounge are a great idea as was the complimentary hot and cold drinking water.

This is a three star plus hotel

Room 37 on second floor was very compact and small. It was difficult to move around the room. I would want a bigger room if we return. one would suggest putting in better air ventilation plug next to bed also appeared to work when light only switched on dinner was good but at times felt when you wanted only a coffee and pastry in the am, 29 euro for two for breakfast was quite a lot so felt we had to go to the cafe and bakery instead.

Really comfy rooms, very chic. Food was delicious, both breakfast and dinner. Exceptionally made. The people who work there are very helpful and polite. The location is also excellent.

Could do with more vegetarian choices on the menu (however it is France so wasn't expecting much on the vegetable side). However they did make a separate pasta dish for one of our guest.
