    Pros +

    • Clean, comfortable room. Free espresso and filtered water.
    • What a pleasant surprise this hotel was! located in the center of a small village in the Spanish Basque country, close to lovely walks by the river. There is a garage (we payed 8 euros), or to leave your bikes safely. We booked a large deluxe room for 3, each of us had a private space, the rooms are impeccably clean, rustic with heavy wooden doors.and shutters. 2 cafés and restaurants are besides the hotel, very practical after a long day travelling, as they serve both dinner and breakfast.
    • What a wonderful & atmospheric hotel. Our room was super cosy & warm. There is no hospitality tray in the rooms, so a member of staff kindly gave us a kettle to use. It's super important for us Brits and our morning tea ?

    Cons -

    • Wifi was unreliable. Had to stand next to the window to get reception
    • Take ear plugs if you happen to go there during the week end or a holiday, as the square is lively and busy until late at night and all the rooms seem to be overlooking the square.
    • Nowhere to get coffee before we left. Need to take your own.

Lovely central location in pretty village, bar and restaurant next door, easy walks to the river with our large dog who was welcome to stay in the apartment (can be difficult in Spain). Friendly and helpful staff. Not much English spoken but they returned the iPad we left in the room and paid the courier costs, trusting us to re-imburse them on arrival at home. We stayed in a spacious apartment with double bad and sofa bed and an integral garage, so very safe for a car fully loaded. Would certainly recommend.

The garage on site The location in the centre of the Pueblo

Check in is by telephone, fortunately the receptionist was having a coffee in the bar next door No facilities on site - Salon, bar, resto or breakfast.

Beautiful building and they made an effort to keep in style. Bathroom was a bit out of style, but I liked the shower very much.

I was there for one night, on a Friday night, there is a bar underneath and opposite the hotel. Smokers on the street make a lot of noise. But later on it was very quiet. In the room description it says that breakfast is available at the hotel, but there wasn’t. Maybe because of a Saturday morning?

Wow! The property is amazing! And just like the photos. The attention to detail is superb. We felt very at home. The village itself is very beautiful (and the Plaza will be even more so when the roadworks are finished). The food in the bar under the property was very nice, we had goats cheese salad and pigs cheeks. They allowed us in with our dog, but we did have to sit by the door, which is fair enough. The bar was quite lively in the evenings, but the noise of people enjoying themselves doesn’t bother us. There are two more bars in the village, one also serves as a bakery. Lovely walk down to the river and the weir. The staff were really lovely. And the secure parking in the integral garage was an added bonus.

Rustic and gorgeous. Room had been updated and was very comfortable. The building is beautiful. Don’t miss the walk along the river. We loved the local vibe! (But it’s local, don’t expect to be in a big city with big city choices. You’re staying in a small village that offers what you need unless you need big city choices.) And pet friendly!!

Arrival information could be made more clear but don’t sweat it. You’ll love the place as soon as you’re settled.

Ester the manager/receptionist was very helpful and provided us with a secure parking space without extra charge. We thank her very much for this kind gesture.

    Location ambience room

Sadly the bar next door was not serving fresh food in the evening and only bar snacks, also closed for breakfast owing to it being shut on a Monday

A disappointment. A pretty village , yes, but facilities were very basic.

A disappointment. A pretty village , yes, but facilities were very basic. The room was dusty and had cobwebs. A small bed, one long pillow spread over the bed (to be shared by 2 people). Breakfast was €5 per person and served in the bar next door. Very basic would be an understatement. We were just given a coffee, a juice and a half a baguette each (not a whole each), toasted to the point of being so stiff it was hard to bite. Some genetic jam and butter packs. This place served the purpose on our way to the Bilbao ferry but we won’t be back. Such a shame, it sounded like a nice place.

Lively location: beautiful square - challenging to find and park ?Super spacious The room even had a built in kitchen- we only noticed it behind some cupboard doors as we were leaving - really well equipped for a longer stay than we were making Would be good to spend more time in that area and this would be a perfect base It was lively and crowded when we arrived but totally peaceful during the night

We were tired on arrival so the challenge of finding it in the first place Worth it though!

Good location. Friendly staff, usually need to call for check-in, there are phone numbers on the door. Room was clean, and had fresh look. There is a breakfast in bar in same building, costs 5 euro, includes dried bread, olive oil, tomato paste, jam, juice and coffee.

There was a crack in the shower floor. I had an upper floor and a window above the bed, it was raining in the evening and the window was dripping a little.

Unique and beautiful location probably somewhere we never would have visited if the hotel wasn’t there. We stayed in an apartment that was very comfortable, spotless and great location

Great traditional hotel in the heart a pretty rural village. We had a large room, comfortable beds and a brand new bathroom. We had to call the number on the door to get in, but she came quickly. They’ve got a huge garage/games room for our bikes. We were in a quiet room with a microwave not far away. Very pleased with our accommodation.

quiet central location in beautiful village

    lots of stairs

the room was large and airy and very clean. close to two bars for a nice evening drink.

nothing to do with the hotel, but unfortunately it faced onto the plaza, which was still noisy at midnight, ok for adults, but I think it is not a place where young children would have a good nights sleep.

We've stayed here about 4 or 5 times on our teips north and south. We love the area, especially the river for our dog. The rooms are always comfortable, clean, and well presented. Parking in the hotel garage is a bonus. The pueblo itself is very pretty, and it's close to the motorway.

Very pretty old building in the heart of an attractive town. We have stayed here often.

The price of accomodation seems to increase in the summer season.
