    Pros +

    • Our first impressions skepticism turned into complete satisfaction by the end of our stay - in fact we even decided to stay an extra night. The location was handy to our events in Montjean, the grounds were nicely maintained, the room was spacious and very clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was modern, the breakfast was delicious, and the staff were delightful. What more can you ask for from a hotel stay? And did I mention...the weather was perfect too!Oh, and they even had a charging station for our electric car. Bam!
    • The natural surroundings and the tranquility.
    • Shit

    Cons -

    • There were no tissues/kleenex in the room or bathroom.
    • To have a small kettle plus 2 cups for tea. Thanks
    • The bungalows were concrete block buildings and very space inside. They asked before if we wanted a table reservation for dinner but omitted to say that if we didn’t book the 2 massive events they had going on that evening meant there was no chance of food at the hotel that night.

Self contained cottage for a family

There wasn’t anywhere to sit on an evening and socialise before bed.

The cottage we're nice with a view of the little pond. Bedrooms were big and bathroom seems pretty new. The fridge worked well. The location was good for our one night stopped.

No Air conditioning in the cottages and it smelled a little bit damped. After opening the widows the smell disappeared.

    Nice setting in the country.

There were 4 coffee machine that were either broken or switched off. I thought that was pretty petty of them.

    5RogerPosted on: 7-9-2024

Reception was fine and friendly. The hotel room was also fine, clean and comfortable

The restaurant was odd. There was no written and priced menu. It all came out of the waiters head. His English was poor, and so what you were ordering, and the price was questionable. There was a priced drinks list. I ordered a bottle of wine. Uniquely in my experience, it arrived open. Normally the bottle is showed to the customer unopened to make sure it is what he wanted. To open it earlier is not acceptable. It could be anything in there.

Breakfast is ok. Great apple juice, french bread and, of course, cheese. Coffee quite good - I used to work for a company that roasted coffee and I use coffee from the Atherton Tableland in Australia so am reasonably demanding.I like having the gym available and being able to go in late at night or early morning. It is run down and most of the machines are end of life but there is enough kit there to have a decent workout. A very small investment (basic equipment without lots of electronics) would be good - e.g. a spinning machine using magnetic resistance would have been a better buy than the exercise bikes as they are far more robust.JdA is very quiet and when it is open the restaurant is excellent.

I usually take an inexpensive basic room so my expectations are limited. Nothing. I much prefer JdA to the large chain hotels in the centre of Angers or Nantes.

Really beautiful place but we didnt get to enjoy it.

we were planning to explore the place for an hour before checking out at 11 and then we found out that our check out was also at 10. Breakfast finished at 10. That was a very early checkout. It was quite stressful for us. Check in was at 16:00.

The hotel is located in a very lovely garden setting with ponds and walking paths. The cabins were basic but clean.

It would have been nice to have a couple of comfy chairs to sit in the alcove and also outside on the deck when the weather was nice.

    7AnnPosted on: 8-26-2023

the room was basic but comfortable and acceptable with good towels and sheets

Not very accessible for people with mobility problems. nobody there to welcome you. Key had to be collected from a different building to the hotel room.More of a conference centre than a hotel for travellers. Reception staff friendly.

We arrived at the property and was horrified and didn’t stay at the property.

Nothing. The buildings were concrete blocks with camp beds. The interior and floors were concrete. Two deck chairs instead of a sofa. The one tv wasn’t working. The bedding looked like it had been used since the 70’s. It was more like a car park with trees rather than a ‘Forrest’ nothing was open. The main reception was depressing and nothing was open. My son said is this somewhere you go when you commit a crime.

    Good staff

No tea coffee making facilities, odd room layout, site could do with some updating

Location good for accessing the Loire tourist spots. Nice gardens and peaceful. Bathroom great and small decking area outside nice.

The windows all had frosted glass so you were unable to see outdoors ,also unable to open the windows , so with no air conditioning it was very stuffy.

Lovely spot and easy going atmosphere, very quiet. Bungalow had plenty of space and description was clear. Fridge was useful to keep things fresh. Free swimming nearby was a nice perk but we didn't have time to take advantage of it, sadly.

The bungalow we were assigned seemed to not be used very much and thus, because of its nature as a stand alone unit, did need a bit of airing on arrival. We managed this ourselves perfectly easily and fed this back on check-out and the feedback was well received and noted.

I chose a cabin to stay and it was a great choise. I washed my clothes and got them dried in the sunshine. The restaurant was really good, I recommend. My food intolerances were taken seriously, so no tummy problems. Food was really really good. A haven in a lush garden after a hot day on the trail.

good staff. good breakfast. salubrious. pleasant surroundings.

smokers on the balcony of the restaurant - bad smell. I know typical of France. La Pommeraye town not very interesting.

Very spacious room/flat. Clean and simple.

Not many windows and a bit dark. Not possible to park close to the flat, although you can drive round the complex of bungalows to get closer.

Breakfast was very good a full selection plenty of all you could want

The room had an almost musty odour which tòok a little getting used to.
