    Pros +

    • Amazing stuff. Restaurant that deserves a Michelin star (best stake and desert in my life).Good wine from own winery. Authentic rooms/houses. The view of the vineyard and mountains.
    • Lovely infinity pool, great region, restaurant food was delicious and large portions
    • The location is absolutely gorgeous! The view from my room was spectacular, especially in the early morning. The food was good, both breakfast and their restaurant for lunch and dinner. The restaurant is a bit pricy for the quality of the food, but you're also paying for the gorgeous view and the convenience of dinning at the accommodation (I wouldn't eat there if I wasn't staying there.) The pool was nice. No complaints about water pressure in the shower of the comfortableness of the bed.

    Cons -

    • There were so many bugs in the room (spiders and mosquitoes.) I got more bug bites sleeping in that room 2 nights than over the prior 2 months combined. Some screens in the window would help. This wasn't from leaving the windows open myself but from staff leaving it to air out, or prior guests doing so and staff not removing bugs. The glasses in the bathroom were not clean, they had a small ring of brown sludge around the bottom; fortunately I noticed and cleaned them before drinking out of them. The sink drain in the bathroom has no cover, just a hole down the pipe. Hope you don't drop your ring or something in the sink because it will be gone.
    • The food was great but like others commented before us pretty expensive compared to other restaurants in Croatia....
    • The bathroom could‘ve been modernized a little.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Vuglec Breg, a charming retreat nestled in the heart of Zagorje, just 40 km from Zagreb. The experience was nothing short of exceptional. The property offers a variety of traditional cottages, each exuding rustic charm while providing modern comforts. My room was impeccably clean, cozy, and provided stunning views of the surrounding vineyards and rolling hills. The staff at Vuglec Breg are truly outstanding. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive service throughout my stay, every interaction was marked by genuine hospitality and professionalism. The on-site restaurant is a culinary gem. Serving traditional Zagorje cuisine made from fresh, local ingredients, each meal was a delightful journey into regional flavors. The ambiance, with its traditional decor and cozy fireplace, added to the overall dining experience. Beyond the comfortable accommodations and excellent dining, Vuglec Breg offers a range of amenities, including a spa and wellness area, private sauna, and an outdoor hot tub, all designed to enhance relaxation and enjoyment.

The food was great but like others commented before us pretty expensive compared to other restaurants in Croatia....

The location and concept are amazing! We enjoyed our stay. The pool is super nice and not crowded as it can be used only by hotel guests. The Restaurant was also delish, they offer traditional dishes which we really liked.

The bathroom could‘ve been modernized a little.

We ended our Croatian vacation with two nights here. It was very relaxing. The room was as expected, with a nice view over the valley. The restaurant food was good, though I have to admit that after two weeks in Croatia, I just wasn't very hungry :-) I found the food a bit heavy for how I was feeling - gnocchi is a fav, but it's not a light meal. My wife's fish dish would perhaps have suited me better. We also had an evening with a wine flight that was really enjoyable. We particularly enjoyed the sparkling wine! The pumpkin soup was enough food for me that evening. Though my wife did try out the pool since the weather was almost OK for that, the water was very cold. Given that it was the end of September, that's not terribly surprising! It's a beautiful view, though. We'll happily go back some day!

Excellent hotel converted from a farm. Superb infinity swimming pool. Beautiful view of the surroundings (hills, vineyards, forests, etc.). Excellent cuisine inspired by local tradition. There is a possibility to buy a few locally made produce - I personally recommend a sour bread, but local wines are excellent choice, including sparkling wine.

Frankly speaking nothing. The only thing which comes to my mind is to advise the host to include in the breakfast buffet some of your sour bread - and not only during dinner time.

For us it was just a pit stop on the way back home so unfortunately we were not able to fully enjoy all the facilities. Very good location with a nice view (on the top of the hill), big parking, good food and great wine, there was also a pool and a spa centre. Would be nice to come back again and spend some time enjoying the life.

It would be nice to have a mosquito net on the windows in order to be able to keep them open and enjoying the fresh air without having mosquitoes in the room.

I can't say enough how I loved the view and serenity of the place. I would probably managed to stay there much longer just to wander around seeing all the green grassy stuff around. Give me the bottle of wine and I am all yours again.

Mosquitoes mostly, those pesky suckers did quite a bit of damage to our kid who, by the looks of it, served great purpose as a bait.

Perfect view over the Wine Yards and Mountains from both room, pool and restaurant

Great swimming pool and relaxed bar area in a peaceful countryside environment.Decent breakfast. We didn’t eat an evening meal at the property, choosing to visit the local town of Kaprina instead.

The air conditioning wasn’t great in our two room but the systems were being replaced as we were leaving.

great food, wine, clean room, great view from the room, good music at the pool

Perfect location and great stay for a weekend outside of the city. Perfect idea for a weekend stay. Very green all around and you have the feeling you're really one with nature. Big rooms and great pool.

The food was good, but for breakfast, I just wish they would use more local products and give it more of a homemade vibe. The items were pretty standard, and given the nature that surrounds it, feels like they can improve on this.

The location is fantastic, beautiful gardens with extensive views. Usually the wine degustation is fantastic.

The property was hosting a high school reunion on the night of our stay. All the staff were very involved in preparation for the event and our wine tasting was poorly handled. I had planned this especially for my travel companion due to my visit the previous year where everything was Marvelous. It was extremely disappointing.I believe the property would have done well to advise us the they were holding an event, one that would totally occupy the staff and go on into the wee hours with aDJ. This would have given us the option of changing our dates.

Extraordinary location on the hill with impressive view, staying like in an old village, rooms decorated in same way, excellent food, professional staff, ambitious owner with a vision to best serve his guests, lot of activities for adults and kids in summer
