Pros +
- A nice old 'family' hotel. An early 1970's property pretty well looked after. Run by generations of the same family. We didn't eat there other than breakfast, but we are foodies and we can attest to the high level of the cooking by the smells and the look of the plates coming out of the kitchen (there is a restaurant onsite. We only had a small request at breakfast, which was met to our utmost delight and satisfaction. The hotel's location is unbeatable. RIGHT on the water. We had a 'mountain' view (i.e. in the back of the hotel, not sea view) which we preferred because the front faces east and we don't like getting up by the sunlight. Ask for Mountain View. It is more private. Makrygialos is a very well kept area and the hotel's spot will make us come back to it whenever we can find availability on our way to Macedonia.
- Very nice and calm hotel located just in front of the sea with a beautiful sunrise view. Has its own parking. The restaurant serves simple but delicious food. It was way better than the other restaurants in the village. Despite being only 2 floors, there is an elevator. Staff is really nice and friendly.
- The location was fine, but the nearby beach is very small. We chose to drive to Pydna for the beach instead, which I highly recommend. View is excellent. The staff were friendly, and the breakfast was decent. Parking is great with lots of space.
Cons -
- We had a very small room, it was kind of hard to move around. In retrospect, this was more of less the size of rooms in most Greek hotels up until the early 2000's when newer, more sizable and up to date construction of accommodations begun. So, we should have expected a small room...
- A little bit outdated, but if you don't fancy luxury and variety of ammenities is ok.
- The hotel is in serious need of renovation and a thorough deep cleaning. The bathroom ceiling had mold, and the entire room smelled strongly—likely from the old furniture and other sources. The upholstery on the furniture was also dirty. Fortunately, we only stayed one night, as it definitely was not worth the price we paid.

The view was nice and the onsite restaurant was great.
Old stained bed sheets and curtains and a very small maybe 22 inch or so “flat screen” tv just too small for 2025. No beach in front like pictures show. Maybe once upon a time.
This is my 4th time at Achillon. If I need a place to hide away, to relax and write, this is my favorite spot in the world. A room looking out at the Aegean (must book it instead of the garden side) brings the sea breezes onto the balcony (with table and chairs) and into the room. It was 90+F each day and I only turned the AC on once. Plus, sitting on the patio drinking wine in the afternoon and eating in the restaurant in the evening. Absolutely delightful! Paradise!
Close to the beach and the restaurants.
Outdated and in need of renovation.
View from balcony is very nice, owner friendly, beach in front of hotel.
We stay just overnight and hotel meet our expectations.
Wonderful view from the balcony - the rooms are simple but very clean and have a great view. The hotel is a bit old-fashioned, but very charming, the staff very nice and the food in the restaurant with terrace and sea view very good. An extraordinary place,, close to Thessaloniki and the Olymp, somewhat out of time, which is well worth a visit.
Great location right at the water's edge (though you'll have to drive elsewhere if yoy want a nice beach), and a very reasonable price. The sea views are fabulous
The whole place is a bit run down, but at this price that is to be expected.
A great view, right across the road from the sea, can hear the waves at night. A short walk to the limited dining and shop options in the area.
Room had no facilities at all, no cups, glasses, cutlery, kettle. Would have been nice to have a coffee on the balcony and enjoy the view.
Location, quiet and cleanliness.
Furniture far too cramped, too few electrical sockets and the shutter on the window wouldn't lock.
+ very friendly staff+ direct sea view+ close to the main road, perfect for a short stop+ good fish in the restaurant+ free parking+ value for money
- a bit old- shower was clogged
A great pitstop location near Thessalonikki if heading to the Ionian islands from Eastern Europe where we were driving from. We stayed both nights, going and returning home. Location was perfect for us.
The location of the hotel is phenomenal, beach across the street, sea view from the terrace. Friendly staff, clean, comfortable facility, private parking in the shade.Peace, quiet, excellent price-quality ratio are the reason why my wife and I have been coming here for six years in a row.
everything was ok
The hotel has a restaurant and the food is very good.
Everything in the hotel is really old. It was very noisy. Don't recommend for more than a night.
Excellent location, very clean room, we had a delightful dinner, charming small village.
Poor breakfast
The location was very good, nice view of the sea from the balcony. The staff were nice and the hotel was cleaned constantly.
The most uncomfortable beds and pillows. Lots of noise from other rooms and the hallways. The walls a paper thin. The breakfast wasn't that good. Small room for three people.
Restourant is fine. Staff is friendly.
You don't need their breakfast. There is better option for 7 euro per person.
We really enjoyed our stay here, the location is excellent, the people are nice , professional and helpful, the apartment is comfortable and well equipped. The breakfast and dinner were delicious and the hotel restaurant was pleasant and comfortable. The hotel has its own parking lot, which is spacious and safe
The WiFi was good only in one room and almost unreachable in the other room, the terrace and the balcony. There was no beach in front of the hotel, but a couple of minutes along the beautiful promenade there are quite nice beaches, so that's not a real disadvantage.
Nice hotel, many interesting souvenirs in the lobby, peaceful garden, room with a view...
