    • place was amazing. Great old charming house with very pleasant bedroom. Spa and swimming pool were also in old house with very nice hammam and sauna. L inattendu restaurant was so beautiful and dinner is excellent with great ingredients and innovative cuisine. Breakfast with oysters and full of choice was delicious
    • Absolutely gorgeous property and room. The staff were courteous and helpful and the views were unbeatable. I would stay here again without hesitation.
    • Pretty much EVERYTHING. Incredible pool, gardens, views. Just a lovely top notch spot. Staff was great!

    Cons -

    • The service could have been better. We arrived with 2 suitcases and nobody came to help us to lift our suitcase . when we asked if somebody could help us they answered that there is nobody to help. At this kind of Relai and Chateaux hotels we were not expected to receive that kind of answer
    • Everything was fantastic, comfortable and relaxing.
    • Only thing I didn’t like was how small the bistro menu was. It never changes so you often feel stuck with the same dishes.

We were pleased that our room was above the spa, which we enjoyed visiting very much. We ate at the restaurant twice, both food and service were excellent.

Signage from the main road could have been better.

The bar and salon area were beautiful. The grounds and hiking trails had splendid vistas. The spa was excellent. Work out circuit in the forest was unique and challenging.

    Not having an indoor gym.

Amazing newly renovated spa retreat! Great food. Friendly staff and great cocktails. Room was extremely comfortable. Would love to return.

It is such a beautiful hotel, everything shows great taste and artistic endeavour. The Spa was also a bonus.

We ate in the Bistro and the food was excellent. The price of bottles of wine was excessive for the quality. A reasonably priced bottle of ‘house wine’ would have been appreciated.

We were celebrating a special occasion and got a surprise upgrade which was phenomenal. The room was even better than I imagined from the photos. Great views, a super comfy bed, a very welcoming layout, and a fantastic shower. The restaurant was quite the experience. Stunning presentation and interesting flavour combinations in a very relaxing and moody setting.

The bar was a bit disappointing as were the cocktails. For the price, I wouldn't order a cocktail again there and would instead focus on their overwhelming wine list.

Relaxed convivial atmosphere, friendly and welcoming staff, excellent cuisine, lovely spa, beautiful grounds. The property has benefitted from a recent refurb, so everything looks fresh and smart, but stylish and sympathetic to the buildings. Truly impressive.

There was nothing we didn't like!

This is such a beautiful place to come and stay. The rooms are lovely. The grounds gorgeous. The staff are friendly, and dinner in the restaurant L’Inattendu was exceptional.

Everything about this facility is superb, the staff are friendly & super attentive, the restaurant for breakfast & diner is great. The grounds are gorgeous...

Nothing, the whole experience is close to perfection.

    nice restaurant

there were hairs in the bed when I opened it . And I couldn’t sleep well as I’ve thought they didn’t change the sheets. Housekeeping should be better

    10EileenPosted on: 11-2-2024

The room was exceptionally comfortable, the staff wonderfully attentive and the grounds absolutely beautiful.

The ambience of the bistro restaurant a little disappointing. It felt more canteen then restaurant despite the exceptional quality of the food. The gourmet restaurant which is only available on booking far in advance looked fabulous so it is not as though they do not know how to create atmosphere. The bistro is not cheap however and the food tastes fantastic. It seemed a shame that the food did not have the ambiance it deserved.

This is our favorite property out of 40+ stays in the last two years. Facilities went through major upgrades recently. It’s gorgeous, secluded, exclusive and understated elegance. The rooms are spacious and extremely well-equipped. Very comfortable. The fine dining restaurant has the best tasting menu and wine paring out of all of the tasting menus we’ve done in many years. The staff is expertly trained , accommodating and friendly. They couldn’t do enough to help.

Nothing. This is our favorite hotel in many years.

Beautiful site in the estuary and stylish decor

We waited for over ten minutes on the road at the gate for someone to answer the bell and let us in. No one answered the hotel’s phone either (at around 16:30; check-in is from 16:00). When we were finally able to enter the property, we parked in front of reception to unload our bags, and no one came out to greet us or help. Inside, the receptionist greeted us without warmth, and didn’t apologize for the wait at the gate, saying only, "we were busy with other clients". We were then told it would not be possible to dine at the main restaurant (which was the reason for our choice of this hotel), because it was full. We have never been at a Relais et Châteaux where tables were not made available for hotel guests. Again, staff were unapologetic. After dining in a town nearby, we returned to the hotel at nine and discovered there were three empty tables at the restaurant all set up for service. At reception they first denied that there were free tables and then changed their version, saying that the tables couldn't be used because there weren't enough servers. At no time were we offered an apology, much less a drink, an upgrade or a gesture of goodwill to compensate for these mishaps.

Excellent reception, lovely room. We had a swim in the indoor pool and used the hammam soon after we arrived.Dinner in the bistro was lovely and breakfast was excellent too. Beautiful setting, next time we’d like to stay a bit longer. EV charging very useful.

We stayed in the main residence(castle) where the restaurant for dinner was located. This was handy, as the weather wasn’t great the night of our stay.

2 observations,The TV was a little low to the floor, obstructing the bottom of the screen. The kettle lead was not long enough to plug in on the tray table provided. We had to place it on the floor to turn it on, & we had no long life milk for our tea.

    10MiriamPosted on: 9-29-2024

The hotel is situated in a beautiful setting with lovely wooded grounds & views to the estuary. We stayed for two nights as a treat at the end of a driving tour. We were not disappointed as it was a lovely end to a great holiday.

Thought the breakfast was a little expensive but suppose if you like oysters & smoked salmon it would be worth it. More of a fruit & yogurt start to the day type of person myself.

Superbly renovated, quiet understated luxury, attentive staff, excellent facilities and wonderful food. The restaurant L’Intendu was a sublime experience.
