Hotel zur Pfalz

I had very good experience staying there. The place offered very good value for the money and the personal was very helpful. Surprising for such small non affiliated hotel in Germany was that everyone from the staff spoke very good English, so no problems whatsoever with the communication and I did not have to embarrass myself using my very questionable German.Very decent breakfast considering this a German hotel.The room and all parts of the hotel were new, shiny and super clean.Very sizable parking without any issues to find a parking space, which is rare in similar smaller establishments.No AC in the room, but I ordered a cheaper room on purpose as I was staying in already rather cold October. For stays in warmer months there are slightly more expensive rooms with AC available. That's also very rare in similar hotels in Germany, where AC is available usually only in bigger branded chain hotels in and around big cities.

Lack of water, there was one small bottle in my room on day one, but that didn’t get replaced and I couldn’t find any in reception or the local shops. I feel water should be freely available.

WC didn't have a key or a locker but it was fine anyway

Location - in centre of town, close to motorway. restaurants nearby. Ample private secure parking.

Room small and very hot, no fan or ac. 1 pillow on bed with no spares and no reception after 20:00 to request anything .

Food (diner and breakfast) were really great. Diner - great range of dishes excellently food, really tasty. Breakfast - wonderfully fresh and varied food.Can’t recommend it enough.They also were very helpful in providing secure parking for car and boat.

It was easy to reach and in a nice spot in Kandel. The food, both dinner and breakfast were amazing, the breakfast buffet was very impressive. The staff was super kind and helpful!

Personally, I'm not a fan of the thin pillows that were in the room. I didn't think to ask if they had thicker pillows, so perhaps they were available, but I can't say.

We loved hanging out at the spa...sauna, pool, relaxation chairs. It was so nice. Breakfast was delicious, definitely worth the additional cost (not much). Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and updated.

A little air conditioning would've been nice.

Hotel zur Pfalz is a very good hotel, helpful staff. on-site parking. The only issue I had was that the restauant was closed for 2 nights. This meant we had to go out to find somewhere to eat. Not what I wanted to be doing after a long drive. I have stayed here before and the restaurant is excellent normally. I should have been warned when booking that is was closed.

The staff was very friendly. Also willing to accommodate extra wishes. The room was clean. The breakfast had very good variety available and is reasonably priced.

No heater on which to hang towels in bathroom. Generally not enough space to hang towels in bathroom. No shutters on the window, just curtains. Only minor issues, but in general would expect a little more comfort for the price - or a lower price...

Great accommodations. Excellent restaurant, easy parking, wonderful shower, comfortable bed, delicious breakfast. We were within walking distance of downtown. The staff was friendly with good English skills.

Perfect hotel for stop over .very close to A8 motorway .Every aspect of our stay was perfect. Would recommend to anyone looking for a first class hotel to or return on the journey.
